Title: Truth Ain't Pretty
Description: Rose and Wildflower

Horsegirl - October 27, 2007 07:35 PM (GMT)
The mare walked through the forest, her auds flicking back and forth, searching for sounds in the breeze. She heard the soft splashing of the creek running through the forest, the birds singing, her hooves landing quietly on the bed of green grass. And those of another, smaller than she. Brown occuli looked to her daughter, dun pinto, cavorting along next to her mother. Wildflower, she was called. But it pained the mare to look at her. For the filly had been fathered by a forcebreeder: Reckless, that stud that resided in the Grove, using poor defenseless mares for his own pleasures. It was sick, horrible. And Rose had been one of those "chosen" mares.

She looked forward again, letting it fall behind her, into the place where horrible memories wait until your mind has nothing else to think about. She glanced around, auds cocked, listening for any other equines besides herself and her daughter. A whinny was sent up to the skies, tentative, unsure of whether the king of the Forest was kind and would let her and her daughter stay safely, or cruel, and would take advantage of them immediatly.

The Alpha of the Letriona Forest heard the call of the mare and immediatly set on his way to find the mare. He was alone here for his last mare had left. Finally, someone was here. He hoped it was an alone mare, but anything would do to get the herd started.

He came to a halt in front of the mare and her foal. "Greeting," he said. "I'm Silver Knight, Alpha of these lands. Who may you be?"

The mare stopped and pricked her auds at the new horse before her. So he was the Alpha. Good. And he seemed nice, too. "I'm Golden Rose, Rose if you prefer, and this," she gestured to her daughter, "is my daughter, Wildflower. Pleased to meet you, Lord Silver Knight."

/OOC: No muse for Wildflower right now, sorry!/

The stallion listened to the mare as she introduced herself. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Rose," he said. "And Wildflower." He looked over to the filly, smiled, then looked back at Rose. "So, what brings you here?" he asked. Why did she have a foal, but she was alone? Did she leave him? Forcebreeder?

The mare narrowed her russet orbs. "You really want to know?" she said, her voice low, threatening. "Normally, I wouldn't, but since you're an alpha, I'll humor you.

"I had wandered into the Grove--by mistake, mind you--and he came. He forcebred me. All I wanted was a home, a home with him. He gave me a home, but not his. He was a drifter, forcer, rogue: whatever you feel like calling him. Left me with that mare that takes in forcebred mares without a home. After a year, I had Wildflower here, and he came back. We argued, and then I left and came here. It's an instinct of mine to be with a stallion, have a herd. And that's about it."
She stopped. Tail flicked once, then stopped.

Knight listened to Rose as she told him her story on how she had her foal and why she was here at this very moment. He nodded, not knowing what to say.

"I'm really sorry to hear that," he said, not knowing what to say. He really was sorry that she had to go through getting forcebred. Forced to have a foal. If he was a mare, he'd want to willingly breed to someone, not be forced. He, one day, would want a foal to be the heir to Letriona Forest.
