I walked back to the Aurora Mountains with Poseidon. I had just had my fourth birthday and I was now a mare. I hoped that one day I would have a foal. I looked behind me at Poseidon and halted. I looked around the Mountains and smiled. "Looks nice," I said.
I nickered to Poseidon then shook her head to get her long forelock out of my face so I could see better.
Horsegirl - September 4, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
I smiled as I came up to Melody. "I'm glad you like it," I murmured to her. I was glad to have a mare in my herd, even if it was just one. Like any other colt that had just become a stallion, I was eager to have offspring of my own, and a mare could accomplish that. Somehow I thought that Melody wanted her own foal too. I could do that for her. But not now. Maybe later.
abbydoodle96 - September 4, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
I looked at Poseidon and smiled. I nickered and took another look at the land, admiring the looks of it. I looked up at the sky then looked back at Poseidon. I was happy to just have a home, for I had wondered for most of my life. It was nice to sit back and relax a little before....Maybe some day, I thought.
Horsegirl - September 17, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
I kneaded the ground with my daggers in nervousness. I, just....I wanted a foal of my own. It was almost every colt or stallion's dream to have their own children, and I badly wanted my own. I opened my mouth once, then closed it. I felt dizzy a little. Anxious. Then I took a deep breath, and the words tumbled from my lips. "Melody, I was just, well, wondering.....Would you carry my foal? I know we haven't been together much, but I kind of sense that you want one too." I laid my auds back and looked away, waiting for her answer. "And maybe would you be my Empress?"
abbydoodle96 - September 23, 2007 01:28 AM (GMT)
I looked down at my hooves as I blushed, my face turning pink. I looked back up at Poseidon as it went away. I thought about the question and pretty much knew what she was going to say. "Oh, Poseidon..." I said. "I would love to!" The way I said it made me sound like a little child squealing, but I was happy. I had always wanted my own foal and to have one with Poseidon...and become Empress was all good.

I'm in the business of misery, let's take it from the top
She's got a body like an hourglass it's ticking like a clock
It's a matter of time before we all run out...
When I thought he was mine, she caught him by the mouth
Entering into the land without any care in the world, another equine could be heard.
Sunlight reflected off the mare’s smooth black coat, the bright white blanket of snow white draped across her rump standing out quite a bit from the rest of her body. Tresses of ebony bounced into the air with her lively trot, the ends fading to a dark brown. Brown eyes scanned the entire land, as she started singing the rest of the song stuck in her head in a ridiculously high pitched voice, in which you could’ve sworn it was some little filly speaking instead of a young mare.
“I waited eight long months
She finally set him free
I told him I couldn't lie, he was the only one for me
Two weeks we had caught on fire
She's got it out for me, but I wear the biggest smile”
Whoa...well I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now
Whoa... it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now
But God does it feels so good
'Cause I got him where I want him now
And if you could then you know you would
'Cause God it just feels so...
It just feels so good
Had you been listening, you would’ve either busted out laughing just from how cute and funny it was, or stared at how freaky and disturbing it was. It only added to the mare’s hyper personality, tossing her head and swishing her tail as though dancing to know music. In particular she wasn’t looking for a home, just someone to talk to and feel welcomed by. A group that wouldn’t turn her away or constantly use pick-up lines on her.
Second chances they don't ever matter, people never change
Once a whore, you're nothing more, I'm sorry that'll never change
And about forgiveness, we're both supposed to have exchanged
I'm sorry honey, but I passed up, now look this way!
Well there's a million other girls who do it just like you
Looking as innocent as possible to get to who
They want it what they like, it's easy if you do it right
Well I refuse, I refuse, I refuse!
Whoa...well I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now
Whoa... it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now
But God does it feels so good
'Cause I got him where I want him right now
And if you could then you know you would
'Cause God it just feels so...
It just feels so good ...
With a pause, something caught her attention from the corner of her eye, a bit of movement on a rock not but a couple feet away. With a little gasp, the mare jumped up and over, away from a little lizard that was on the rock. “Oh my God! Get it away!” She waved a hoof at it, trying to shoo it away, before panicking and cantering off deeper into the lands to find Posiedon. As she slowed down, her body was shaking nervously, looking back over her shoulder to make sure it was gone. How could such a tiny lizard scare her? No one was quite sure, but it was just one of the things that scared her spitless. Indeed, the young mare had many fears, oddly enough. Including having trust issues, yet in one day she could grow comfortable enough with a person to practically through herself at someone. Soon she started calming down again, the smell of others now catching her attention. A big grin on her face, she picked up her pace again until she could see the grey stallion along with another young mare. "Hey Poseidon!" She smiled, talking completely normal now as she stepped closer, but kept her distance because of the other mare.
I watched his wildest dreams come true
Not one of them involving you
Just watch my wildest dreams come true
Not one of them involving ...
Whoa, well I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now ...
Whoa, well I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now
Whoa... it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now
But God does it feels so good
'Cause I got him where I want him now
And if you could then you know you would
'Cause God it just feels so...
It just feels so good

I gave a little laugh as I heard another horse coming. I knew that it was Phobia, no one else was that nice and hyper. I turned to see the black and white mare coming towards Melody and I.
"Hey, Phobia. This is Melody, Empress of the Auroras. Melody, Paranoia Phobia, Phobia for short." I wasn't sure what else to say, so I just shut up and waited for someone else to talk.
abbydoodle96 - September 24, 2007 12:45 PM (GMT)
I nickered a greeting to the other mare then turned back to Poseidon. He knew her? I was eager...and nervous to go to the Grove, for this was my first time ever having a foal. I did not know about Poseidon though. For all I knew he could of had two or three foals already. Maybe this was his first too.
I looked back at the other mare and nodded to her. "Nice to meet you Phobia," she said in a friendly voice.
sassaboo - January 17, 2008 11:01 PM (GMT)
((I'm going to skip to when they've met, because of Talos and all xD))
Boy, Poseidon doesn't waste any time at all, does he? She had a big grin on her face from her thought, then again she typically had a grin anyways. Flicking her tail against her white flank, she started bobbing her head to and fro happily, a song running through her mind. She didn't care if anyone thought of her as weird, she kind of liked the attention. Approaching Poseidon, she smiled and poked him with her muzzle. "Ello! Been a while, hmm? Sorry, I got lost for a bit. Guess it doesn't help that I get distracted pretty easily."
Horsegirl - January 18, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
A grin spread across my face as she spoke, her head bobbing in time to who knows what. Typical Phobia. Totally random, yet totally in the moment. "It's fine. Things got sort of.....dull, around here. Not your fault." I felt kind of guilty from my disappearance, but she'd surely forgiven me, or else she'd have been long gone by now. I was grateful for her trust and loyalty; not that I had desperately needed her. It was just nice to have her around, was all.
sassaboo - January 20, 2008 11:48 PM (GMT)
Phobia nodded, not having any problem that he had dissappeared for a while. Looking up at the sky, she looked around for any clouds boredly. Unable to stand still for a minute, she was shifting her weight and moving her hooves like she did quite frequently. With a big sigh, she looked back to Poseidon. "So, watcha been up too lately?" It was a lame conversation starter, but she wasn't really one to start many conversations. She couldn't really, as she forgot what she was going to say half the time.
abbydoodle96 - January 21, 2008 07:49 PM (GMT)
Melody trotted into the lands, her first colt, Talos, following right behind her. She looked back for a moment to check on her colt, then smiled, continuing on her way back into the Aurora Mountains. It had been a long time since she had been there, and she couldn't wait to see Poseidon again. She spotted him with Phobia and trotted over. "Poseidon!" she shouted, coming to a halt in front of him. She looked over at Talos and gave him a nuzzle, before looking back up at her love. "Its good to be back," she said, smiling.
Talos came out from behind his mother and walked up to what seemed to be his father. He nipped Poseidon's legs and whinnied, looking up at the tall equine. He looked back over at his mother and gave her legs a nuzzle, before turning back to his father. He didn't know the other mare, so he stayed as far away from her while still being close to his mother as possible.
W Smack - January 27, 2008 12:42 AM (GMT)

The tall, gleaming stallion smiled triumphantly as he trotted happily into the moutnains. So, he had finally secured a home of his own! And you knew what that meant? Mares! Charmant scented the air, closing his eyes in joy as he took in the scents of the two mares that Posiedon had meantioned. Ah, they smelled wonderful! He hadn't been in contact with females for a while now - a record for himself, in fact! But not anymore. As he continued, though, he shook his head to rid his thoughts of them. No, he had to behave himself, now! This was a true, life-long home. He couldn't go ruining it again! He set his head and made his eyes hard as he gazed ahead. He would find a mare of his own, soon, so that he wouldn't be tempted by the femmes of the Mountains. Then he would be able to subdue the strong urges that rushed throughout the hormones of his body.
abbydoodle96 - January 27, 2008 12:54 AM (GMT)
Melody spotted a new stallion, and walked over to him with her son, Talos, following right behind her. "'Lo," she began, looking him up and down. She'd have to help Poseidon keep an eye on this one, as she knew he didn't really like other stallions. "I'm Melody, the Queen of the Aurora Mountains."
W Smack - January 27, 2008 01:03 AM (GMT)
The stallion bowed his head politely and said, "It is nice to meet you, fair lady. And I am Charmant, new stallion of these lands." He smiled casually and happened to glance at the foal behind Miss. Melody. "Ah, and what do we have here?" he asked, with raised eybrows. "The heir of the Mountains? The little prince, I suppose?" He smiled up to his mother. "I see where he gets his looks," he said. He had actually never been one for kids, but this seemed like a nice enough young boy, and he was trying to get on his parents' good sides, so he decided to compliment them anyway.
abbydoodle96 - January 27, 2008 06:59 PM (GMT)
I looked behind me at my son, then looked back at the stallion, Charmant. "Yes, this is Talos, heir of the Mountains, I suppose," I said, smiling down at Talos, who was getting close to being a yearling.
Hearing his name, Talos quietly and slowly came out from behind his mother to look at the much taller stallion. He let out a soft snort and gave the stallion's leg a nip, before quickly running back behind his mother. He always thought taller equines were interesting, but sometimes that could get him in trouble. He loved nipping and licking at others' legs, but some horses didn't like that, so his mother stopped him often when he tried to mess with the bigger equines.
W Smack - January 27, 2008 07:04 PM (GMT)
The cremello stallion smiled down at the playful young thing as it came and nipped him, then ran away once more. "What an energetic colt!" he murmured. "You must have your hands full. Is he the only foal in these lands?" He looked around at the other members. The only others were Posiedon and his other mare. "Well, this looks like a lively place, anyway. But no matter. I have a mare of my own that should be arriving soon." He looked out to the horizon as if looking for her - although he knew that it would take Tundra and Derek a bit longer to get here. As he looked up at the glowing, ice-capped mountains, he simply had to smile. Yes, Tundra was sure to love it here!
Horsegirl - January 27, 2008 07:18 PM (GMT)
I studied the new brute as he spoke to my queen. I was slightly relaxed, seeing as he'd have to be a complete jerk-off if he tried anything with her. It was Phobia I was worried about. Just the way she acted was slightly carefree. I'd have to watch her, make sure that she didn't fall into this Charmant's clutches. A chuckle escaped my jett maw as my son started to annoy the stag. Ah, let him, I thought. It was fine. Aud flicked back to catch the hyperactive mare's question. "Ah, nothing much. You know, just stuff. Like letting that guy into the herd." I swung my skull toward him as he spoke. "Somehow I don't trust him. I've never really liked other stallions much. Might have come from my father. I don't know. But I'm sure that he'll try something. And I know that you'll be able to take care of yourself, but I'm still worried about you. Melody'll be fine, as my queen, but you're only a king's lady. I don't know why, I just am." Thorns flicked to the sides in an embarrassed gesture at my sudden outpouring of words.
As I listened to Melody and Charmant, I caught a sentence that put me on edge. Yes, this is Talos, heir of the Mountains, I suppose. I wasn't sure if Talos would be my heir. I still had a long time to rule, and he was bound to be off somewhere by the time I was ready to retire. I'd have to break it to them sometime, but not now. Maybe later.
sassaboo - January 27, 2008 07:34 PM (GMT)
Bobbing her head to and fro as always, she listened to Poseidon's words while looking back to Charmant. Phobia chuckled at his words, she was /only/ a King's lady, yet he was worried about her? "Don't worry, he said he has a mare of his own, and to be honost he's not even cute." She grinned, looking up at Poseidon. All she was, was his lady, so why even bother worrying about her? She didn't even have a foal for him, they weren't exactly the closest of friends either. But she said nothing of it, yes, she'd rather have a mate of her own than have to be the 'secondary' mare of the harem. It was like she was just a back up mare, in case anything happened to Melody, there was Phobia as his back up.
W Smack - January 27, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
Charmant looked around as the other herd members slowly acknowledged his presence. His hazel eyes wandered over them as he inspected each of them in turn. However, his mind only remained on one: the mare he happened to be waiting for. Throughout his life, he had been known as, well . . . a ladies man. Not even he could deny it. But it was only because he, like so many others had had his heart broken by a woman. So who could blame him if he hid his heart from others as he did? But somehow, in the short time that he had known her, Tundra had changed things for him. He didn't yet know how, but he wanted to speak with her more so that he could maybe figure it all out.
Mystery - January 28, 2008 12:13 AM (GMT)
My hooves pressed against the still ground. Everything seemed still but me and my friend. I knew I didn't belong at the moment and I was wary of it. My neck curved lightly and ears pressed back as I brushed underneath a low hanging tree. My white coat with speckles along my face seemed a bit dimmer from the last time I checked. Eyes of life searched for the herd she heard of. Feeling a little lost, I stopped and looked at my albino friend.
The wallaby traveled alongside the mare. His own red eyes searching carefully. Walking a few steps after Tundra, he walked back. Looking up into her eyes, he arched a brow. "Yes Tundra?" She replied with an I'm lost look. Smiling, he chuckled and turned away from the mare. Standing motionless for a few moments, his nose twitched. "Come this way." He muttered and started to hop closer to the far off scents. He was a little eager to see the stallion that they had met earlier and also the herd he lived among.
I stood there and waited for Derek's answer. Trudging after the hopping Wallaby, I was soon in a trot. Suddenly a wave of scents hit my nose. We were closer to the herd then it seemed to be. I saw a form of white and my head rose a little bit. "Charmant." I whispered to myself and trotted ahead of Derek and went up to the stallion. "I made it." I said with a warm smile as I looked at him.
Derek made it a minute or two later and stopped. Breathing a bit heavily, he laughed and nodded at Charmant. Looking at the rest of herd, he would wait to talk for now. Resting on his butt, he looked at his paws while Tundra greeted Charmant and caught up somewhat with the handsome stallion.
W Smack - January 28, 2008 11:56 PM (GMT)
"Tundra!" he cried, surprised despite himself. "I'm glad to see that you both arrived safely." He nodded respectively to the small albino wallaby. He turned so that he was facing the herd and he was standing shoulder to shoulder with the white mare. "Well, this is the herd. Beautiful, isn't it? It's just ourselves, the alpha, his two mares, and his young son." He gazed out at the terrain with a silly smile plastered upon his face. He found that his dark hazel eyes had soon found their way back to Tundra once more. He took in her beauty, and breathed her scent deeply. He had only felt this way about one other mare in his life, but that hadn't turned out to be too great. He would have to wait and see how this one turned out.
Mystery - January 29, 2008 10:53 PM (GMT)
"I have Derek as my aid, I never get lost." I commented softly with a fond smile to the Wallaby. I let my shoulder brush against his as he re-adjusted himself. "It is very beautiful." I murmured as my eyes were captivated by the scenery. "I'm so glad I came with you." I looked up at Charmant with a warm smile and then let myself look around once again. I glanced at the Alpha and nodded my head respectively. It seemed that the Alpha didn't want to talk to me or Derek just yet.
Derek chuckled at her comment and smiled back at Tundra. Sighing, he kept an eye on the herd they had joined. They had been yet been introduced to anyone else and it kind of worried him. Was this herd a bunch of ghost horses that were here because they could find no other place to live? Thinking lightly, he nibbled at some grass. An ear was on Charmant and Tundra's conversation.
W Smack - January 29, 2008 11:00 PM (GMT)
A smile grazed over his peachy maw as he looked upon the odd duet before him. "I'm glad that you two have each other, then," he said. "But I'm more glad that you're both here, now." He paused for a minute, and then added, "You know, I was really excited for you to get here, because I want to get to know you better. So, would you like to go somewhere where we can talk?" He looked over the mare to look at Derek and added, "Derek, you can come, too, of course."
Mystery - January 29, 2008 11:13 PM (GMT)
"Glad too." Derek mumbled with a chuckle as he looked up and then looked away. Smiling to himself, he picked at the grass and sighed. When he heard Charmant ask, he looked up at the stallion with a coy smile. "No, no. I won't burden you two with my company." His coy smile never left his lips. "And besides, I want to meet this Alpha sooner or later." Shrugging, he looked around again and then looked back at the two with a nod; assuring them he was certain with his answer.
I glanced at Derek for a moment and noted his coy smile. Rolling my eyes, I looked back at Charmant. "I would love to go for a walk with you." I replied softly. My voice always light and soft and I was a bit tired of it. Oh well, I thought. Taking a few steps froward, I looked back at Charmant and nipped at his chest. "Lets go slow poke." Giggling, I smiled brightly and waited for him to show me the way.
W Smack - January 29, 2008 11:19 PM (GMT)
He nodded respectfully to Derek. "We will see you later, then. We won't be long, hopefully." He chuckled as Tundra urged him forward. "Alright, alright!" he said. "I'm coming. Let's go this way." He led her through the surrounding forests. It was silent for a while as they walked in quiet, but then he asked, "So, where should we start? Do you want to go first, or should I?"
Mystery - January 29, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
I followed Charmant through the quiet forests. I walked by his shoulder and admired the natural beauty. It looked so wonderful out here and I was thankful that I had come. After a while, Charmant started to talk. Glancing at him, I made a small frown; one where I was thinking. "I don't know where to start, so you can go first." I said, my frown turning upside down as we continued to weave through the forest.
W Smack - January 29, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
"Ok," he muttered, thinking. "Where shall I start? Well, as you know, I come from French origons. My mother raised me by herself after my father left. He wasn't known for staying in one place for long. He had, well . . . many mares in his life. I have a half brother and half sister - both coming from different mares." He paused for a second, and then said, "I'm sorry. That's probably not the best way to start off. I don't want you thinking I came from a troubled family or anything. My father may have been a bit unreliable when it came to women, but throughout my life, he's stayed close to me, and his other two children. I still see him often, my mother as well. Just never both of them at the same time." He paused again, and stole a glance at Tundra. He added hesitantly, "That's enough of ancient history, though. So tell me, how did you come to be at the claiming groiunds?" He knew that she probably didn't want to talk about her own troubled past, so he had decided to change the subject for her.
Mystery - February 1, 2008 01:30 AM (GMT)
I listened intently to Charmant. My eyes constantly glancing at him, always catching his glanced. My face went stone as he continued and I watched the scenery. My ear tilted toward him as I was careful not to make a lot of noise. "No it's fine." I muttered when he apologized. I actually liked listening to others talked, I liked to hear their voices. It calmed me to hear them and for me to just listen and dwell in thoughts. Coming from deep thoughts, I smiled softly and stole a glanced at Charmant. "Well, we were heading up to a different land to find a herd and had just decided to stop and take a break there. We travel a lot, not really staying in one place for long. Always fearing something bad is going to happen." I spoke with a soft voice as the sun felt colder, the wind picked up a little, and a sense of being lost tickled me. At the moment, I cared not whether we were lost or not as long as I kept walking with him.
W Smack - February 1, 2008 01:43 AM (GMT)
Charmant nodded, listening intently to her. "Understandable," he muttered. "I'm a bit of a wanderer myself - never staying in one place for long." He didn't tell her that the reason why he was still wandering was because he had been kicked out of his old herds by the alpha for flirting with the other mares. "Well, I'm glad I happened by you two," he said, smiling brightly at her. "So tell me: how did you and Derek meet each other? I don't think I've ever seen a wallaby - let alone an albino - before in my life. How long have you two known each other, exactly?"
Mystery - February 1, 2008 02:02 AM (GMT)
I chuckled softly at his question about Derek. "I've known the little thing since I was about one and a half. Came across him when I was running away, terrified of everything and he seemed to be the only one who would take me in." My voice was sincere as I talked about Derek, he was my step in mother and father, combined. Was there through it all and I was glad he never had to see what really happened at the scene that had caused me to run away. I barely remembered everything clearly now, but it was so horrible. In fact, I was a bit surprised that I had come to trust Charmant so quickly.
W Smack - February 1, 2008 02:07 AM (GMT)
Charmant was so curious, and he was just about to ask Tundra even more about her troubled past, but he knew that it probably wasn't time for that just yet. "He can be quite loveable when he's not about to rip your head off," Charmant agreed, smiling at his own joke. "I must say, for such a small creature, he knows how to protect you well." His shoulder grazed his slightly as they walked and a small shiver found its way down his spine. He had only ever felt this way once before. He suddenly thought of a daring question. "You don't have to answer me if you don't want to," he started. "But how many people in your life would you say you've been truly in love with?"
Mystery - February 1, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
"Yes well, I'm the only one he's had for a while." If Charmant thought I had a troubled past, wait till he heard Derek's. Smiling, I nodded my head. "I love him to death." I muttered as we kept walking. Feeling his shoulder against mine, I glanced at him. Feeling a warm feeling in me, I could help but shudder. It was a feeling I hadn't felt in a very long time and it was the one feeling I'd welcome any time. The feeling disappeared when he asked me that question. "One. I've only loved one in my life and I regret even looking his way." I said, disgust and regret lacing my once soft and sweet tone.
W Smack - February 1, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
Oh, boy, did Charmant understand regret! But the way Tundra had explained it - so cold and filled with sadness. He definitely knew sadness, too - and disappointment. "It may be hard to believe - but I understand your pain," he said. "I, myself, have lost a love before, and I know it's not pretty." He paused, muttering slightly to himself. "Comment j'ai jamais senti n'importe quoi pour elle, je ne saurai jamais. Que la jument idiote a marqué moi pendant la vie, et maintenant moi ne peut pas même faire confiance à la jument que je suis amoureux avec !"
Translation:
1. How I ever felt anything for her, I'll never know. That foolish mare scarred me for life, and now I can't even trust the mare that I'm falling in love with!
Mystery - February 1, 2008 10:47 PM (GMT)
"I would only assume so." I said with the disgust taken from my voice. Of course everyone had at least loved once, no matter the situation. Sighing, I shook my head softly as he kept talking. I could not believe myself for what I had done and yet, everything does happen for a reason. If I had never gotten hurt, never found Derek, I wouldn't be here right now with Charmant. It was the only reason I was glad that what happened had happened. My head turned and I looked at him curiously. "Did you say something?" I asked, his muttering seemed to be in French, which I didn't speak.
W Smack - February 1, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
He smiled, pushing his anger and worry away. "No, nothing!" he replied, perhaps a bit brightly. "Just . . . just thinking, is all. I only speak French when I'm frustrated - I'm sorry. It will be strictly English from here on out, I promise!" He looked up as the sun filtered through the surrounding trees. The cool, spring breeze ruffled his mane and he smiled - this was the kind of weather that he liked. Not to mention, he also liked being so close to Tundra . . .
Mystery - February 1, 2008 11:00 PM (GMT)
I looked at him strangely at his quick response. "Well, alright then." I said a bit hesitantly, my eyes a little worried. Ears flickered back for a moment, I really didn't want to think him crazy. Shaking the thought from my mind, I smiled back at Charmant. Our body heat mixing as we walked so close to one another. As my quick moving mind reeled times ten, a question came to mind. I was really starting to like Charmant, was I going to be ready to be his mate; even have his foals? It was new to me, made me nervous to think about it. It didn't seem that he would ask soon so I pushed it aside and let the warm silence envelope me.
W Smack - February 1, 2008 11:05 PM (GMT)
Charmant found it more and more difficult to pull his eyes away from the beautiful mare next to him. "You know what?" he asked. "I like you." He knew that he was being blunt, but he didn't care. He hadn't felt so strongly about a mare in a long time. "I'm sorry if I'm being forward, but I just need to get my feelings out there - which is a hard thing for me to do, in case you didn't know."
