Title: Wandering

The little mare trotted along, looking between the trees. Yes, this was the place she wanted to be. Now she knew that she was supposed to go to the claiming grounds, but she wasn't sure of her alliance. So she decided to come here, as was tradition in her old home. A mare went to the breeding grounds, was bred, then went back to their new home with their foal's father. Simple as that. But she was raised to think like that, so of course it was simple/

She stopped and raised her head to the sky, looking at the blue expanse, the white clouds. Same color as her locks: snow-white, pretty against her golden bod. She looked back down and glanced around, thinking of perhaps having her first foal, waiting for something to happen. Preferably to her.

Well well well, what do we have here? Ran the thoughts of the wanderer of the Willow Groves. Stepping through the long branches of the willows, the painted stag showed himself to the slightly smaller mare. He haunted these lands for this very reason, for idiotic mares that try to come alone. He had already gotten to one mare, though from what he had heard his daughter didn't survive. Probably that large red stag's fault that barged in on his fun. Pity, well, she's bound to return at some point. And lookie here, another pretty little plaything. "Not wise to come alone deary, unless you come here for a purpose." He snorted, nares flaring as he stepped closer to the golden mare.

The mare jumped a little at another's words, then swung around to face him. "Hello," she said, her voice slightly tinged with nervousness. "I am Golden Rose. And of course I have a purpose. To give some lucky stallion the chance of having a son or daughter, and in return him giving me a home." She studied the stallion as she waited for his response. He seemed eager for....something. She didn't know what. She shifted her weight from one hind hoof to the other in nervousness at talking to a stallion here.

Her words made him chuckle a bit, obviously this mare didn't know what she was getting herself into. "Well I'm Reckless, and I don't think you quite understand. Lucky stallion? Lady, you should be happy that I'm the one that found you. Many stallions could kill you for coming her alone. And you'd be lucky to leave here without a foal, and find a home on your own. You could give any stallion a foal, but not many stallions will give you a home." He gave a snort, it was true though. Even he didn't have a home yet, the grove was his home. And if he made sure this mare carried his foal, she'd pretty much be on her own. He didn't want to claim a land, to many whiners and challengers would try to overrun him. "Tell you what, you can carry /my/ foal, and I'll help you find a home. There is a land ruled by a mare in the dark lands, from what I here she has a strong hatred for stallions, and offers protection to mares and forced offspring. I will take you there, but I won't stay as I won't exactly be welcomed..." Indeed, he was talking of Beautiful Disaster. Who hadn't heard of the Queen? After she was forced to carry a filly, she claimed her own land, and denied another much larger stallion.

Rose tilted her head to one side slightly at Reckless's words. He didn't have a home? That was strange. Usually stallions had homes of their own. But oh well. Her ears becan to sag until he said his little proposition. "Well, I guess it wouldn't work for be to follow you, be one of your mares, give you your offspring whenever you wanted. But I suppose that I could go to the place you suggest. After all, I was taught to follow stallions' commands." Her hind end sidestepped a tiny bit closer to Reckless.

/OOC: He could go live with Onyx, though. Onyx really wouldn't care, long as Reckless didn't touch his mares and abided by his rules./

"It's a nice thought, but having just one mare to spread genes would, no offense, get boring after a while." Watching her sidestep, he saw his chance. She seemed nervous, and knew he wouldn't be surprised if she darted out or bucked out behind her. Making a much larger side-step than she had, he reared up behind her before using his weight to keep her still, along with biting hold of her boa for good measure. He nickered a warning for her not to move, she should be grateful he wasn't one of the giant stallions that haunted the Grove, being a simple American Paint Horse.....

It wasn't long before he stood beside her, after he was confident she would carry his foal. "As promised, I'll take you to the lands I was talking about. It won't be too long of a journey..." It had been a long time since he had ever left the Grove, but rogue's always have a strange sense in knowing where they were going. Starting to leave, Reckless looked back over his shoulder to make sure she was to follow.

The mare whinnied softly as Reckless mounted her, her legs buckling slightly under the extra weight; she wasn't used to this kind of thing. She didn't like this very much, seeing as he hadn't agreed to let her be in his harem, even though he'd told her of a home, but still. He was a stallions, and in her homeland, stallions command mares. She stood still as Reckless finished.

*dances to music*

When he finally dismounted she let out a silent sigh. "All right. Let's go." She started after him, already feeling a bit heavier than before.
