Title: EBAY Pulling PS3 Systems

EBAY has halted all PS3 auctions, according to a post in EBAY Trust and Safety forum. Any one listing PS3 systems for sale had their listings pulled, and any future listings will require them to provide ebay with a copy of their drivers license or ID, credit card statement or utility bill with their current address, an invoice or receipt showing "purchase or posession" of the consoles, and written acknowledgement of agreement with ebay's policies.

WTG, EBAY.. Man, maybe this will teach people from putting on $2000 ps3 system pre-orders, ripping people off..

about time, I hate the people who buy it just to sell it and take advantage of the shortage of units. Dam it PISSES me off. >:(

I personally think it's all bullshit. If people are that f'n stupid to over pay than take advantage of them. If they have no patience that's not our fault and Ebay should have no right to say otherwise.

You have a point, Shaggy, and to some degree, I think you're right. However, just like the ps2 system, no one that didn't pre-order the system was able to get one for probably 6 months after its official release date, due to sellers snatching all of them up from store shelves. I think, to some degree, these are probably a lot of inside jobs. Managers taking an extra cut from sales to sell all of their systems to 1 person, etc..

This happened a little with the xbox and even with the furbies. I remember seeing these $10 furbies selling for like $100-$150 all over flea market booths. No one could find them in store shelves.

So, yes, money is one part of it, but another part is it is inhibiting the official release of games or toys or systems or whatever it may be. It makes video game companies look bad, and I think Sony is the first company that has taken a stand against it, on ebay and such.

You can have an xbox 360 or ps3 section full of games and accessories, but if no one has a system to play them on, they might as well not bother at all.
