****The whole post has spoilers
Lost odyssey, a jrpg on the 360, so of course I had to get it. Turn based? Oh hell yea.
You play as Kaim, an immortal who kicks so much a$$ in the first cut scene. Even better, he is not a 16 yr old kid, he is in his late 20s or thirties. So far so good.
They added a ring system where you time button presses to add damage, but failing this does not hurt your attack. I liked shadow hearts system better, but this was fine for what it was.
Why did I say family affair? Because the story really takes a weird turn about ten hours in. First off, cut scenes dominate the game. You can sit through 20 min each time of a cut scene before playing the game again.
It started to change after you meet your daughter and she dies and her kids are crying shaking her dead body screaming mom! mom!
Basically, you are a grandfather now. The kids are in your party, but it is not too bad since they are spell casters. Still, it is kind of strange having 9 year old in your party that can take sword attacks.
Oh it gets better, or worse. You then meet your wife. She does not remember you, she is an immortal too. All immortals lost their memories. But somehow she believes you because she has her journals. HOW CAN SHE WRITE THESE JOURNALS WITH NO MEMORIES?
So now we have grandma and grandpa with grandkids.
The others? Well this is japanese so we have half naked DDD women in our party of course. Now your wife has no problem with her husband walking around with these girls because she shows her chest as well! Man the japanese really are perverted.
If my girlfriend saw me with half naked girls and I told her i was going to save the world, I would probably die on the spot.
The game is 4 discs, and about forty hours long. It is a good game, dont get me wrong, but I feel so weird going from slayer of soldiers without ever dying to grandpa. Man the movies are long in this game!
