In this past year, video games have just consistently sucked, IMO. So badly so, that I haven't played any games for months. I've been putting more time in to my gardening and nursery, as well as working out, and doing other things to keep busy, like going to terrible concerts, as you may have guessed lol...
When I open each new month's EGM magazine, I see nothing that interests me. It's gotten so badly lately that I just swish through the pages fast, catching a glance at most of the headlines and screenshots, to try to see if something catches my eyes, but I haven't in at least six months.
Even one year ago, I started to see this pattern emerging in the video game business. That's why I occupied a lot of my time with non-video game related stuff, like Resident Evil, Rambo/Rocky, HD-DVD format, etc. Of course, I still would have been in to those things, especially the RE and HD-DVD thing, but I hope you get the point.
When I was a kid, I would have been almost constantly reading game magazines or playing games. Now, I'm reading gardening books and the occasional newspaper here and there.
I have a feeling that video games will never be the same as they once were.
Video games did it to me.
Yep we're in it for the long haul. I also mentioned we need a breakthrough (no one ever listens heh) if games are to survive. Same ol war junk, conquer lands, warcraft, blah blah blah. I don't see myself EVER going past the Wii. By then I'll be over it all. Wii is probably my last generation of consoles. I believe people have hit the games "ceiling" and can go no further than this, unless there's that breakthrough. I think we all share your pain dude.
Video games are still doing it to me.
