Title: Wii games

In trying to keep this board going and to promote discussion, what Wii games do you have? How are they? Good? Bad?

I played some Wii sports and a bit of Twilight Princess. They're fun, but the Gamecube version of TP is better IMO- the game is kinda stuck in the past, so it plays better on a past system. Though I don't mind sword fighting and fishing with a Wiimote too much. I still have yet to get a Wii, and I intend to get mostly the 'Cube and VC games, because the Wii library is still a bit weak as far I can tell. We need some more Wii titles.

I played wii sports but it got boring after a couple minutes..I hate to say it, but the wii doesn't really interest me as much as the 360 and the handhelds.

Well I used some spare change to finally get the Nintendo Wii a couple weeks ago and I enjoy it a lot though not to the degree I hoped I would. I guess, for me, the hype in '06 must have died down a lot, and time might have also dampened my want for one.
I'm using it mainly for the older stuff. (VC, 'Cube) But Marvel UA (anyone played it?) and FE: Radiant Dawn look fantastic. Got 7 VC games so far (I wanted a better Streets of Rage 3- its just the Genesis US version with the crappy story.)
Does anyone know whether Wii has a regional lockout feature attached to it?
i.e. getting Bare Knuckle 3 from the Japanese VC and saving it to my system... I don't see anything that could let me do that.

Lots a decent amount of spare change! Actually, the only game I really want is the new fire emblem game for the system..I plan on getting one eventually.
I gotta admit, from the times I played the wii, I got bored quickly. What games do you have?
shaggy - February 10, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
I think the Wii does have a regional lockout but I'm not sure. I have tons of games because of the collector in me. Even those shitty games. I have 30 games. Here they are:
Zelda
Paper Mario
Mario Galaxy
Resident Evil
Wii Sports
Wii Play
Big Brain Academy
Smarty Pants
Puppy Luv
Ninjabread Man
Counter Force
Mini Desktop Racing
Harry Potter 5
Ice Age 2
Barnyard
Elebits
Bill the Wizard Broomstick Racing
Chicken Little
EA Playground
Marble Mania
Meet the Robinson's
My Word Coach
Rampage
Rayman
Traume Center 2nd Opinion
World Series of Poker
Offroad Extreme
Monster trux Arenas
Zack and Wiki
Mario Party 8
Any questions? :)

Well, "spare change" was kind of a bad choice of words- I had some tax refund $$ from early last year before I resumed school.
I want Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Fire Emblem to be the first Wii games I get. Right now I just have 'Cube stuff and VC-
VC titles:
TMNT
SMB Lost Levels
Donkey Kong Country 3
Baseball Stars 2 (pretty cool)
Metroid
Zelda- A Link to the Past
Streets of Rage 3 (Sega gave us the U.S. version. *sigh*)
still a decent variety I think

I've never heard about the non-US Streets of Rage 3 version. What is different about it? What makes it better? Which version? Japanese or European version?
Kain - February 26, 2008 05:01 PM (GMT)
SOR online has a great piece about it.
The US and European versions of SOR 3 were very very heavily altered, and IMO we were completely deprived of the real story that makes a ton more sense..
The us version talks about robots taking over the world, while the japanese version (called Bare Knuckle III) tells you about two nations on the verge of nuclear warfare!!! (quite a contrast)
The only advantage the US and European versions have is that they are much harder to beat than the Japanese version. I suppose the Japanese were worried about holding gamers' attention, but it could have been made a little more challenging I think.
IMO Streets of Rage 3 sucks and rocks at the same time, weird as that sounds. great gameplay, stupid and inconsistent story.
It's not the first time Japan has done this to us, (Romancing Saga, FFIV ring a bell, anyone?)
Bare Knuckle 3 (which I'd like to see translated of course) is only on the Japanese VC. I have the US game.
Hope that helps, dude.
