Lately, I've been playing the ol' xbox 1, trying out some of the games I never got a chance to before, like halo 2, buffy, blazing angels, call of duty 3, crimson skies, doom roe, dynasty warriors 4, fight night round 3, far cry, mortal kombat shaolin monks, mortal kombat deception, chronicles of narnia, nightmare before christmas, t-3 redemption, terminator dawn of fate, godzilla melee, sw battlefront 2, sw episode iii, sw jedi starfighter, sw republic commando, kotor 2, and several others.
Some of the games are great, while others suck. It's weird that even some games in the same series (terminator, star wars) can be so variable from one game to another. star wars jedi starfighter was just silly, while kotor, republic commando, and battlefront are good. Terminator redemption was pretty neat, while dawn of fate sucked (hope I got that in the right order.)
Dynasty warriors is pretty much constantly mindless attacking... Nightmare before christmas just felt like it didn't use good combat techniques. You pretty much just hit people with a ball of slime or something like that lol.
Chronicles of narnia was just a bit too boring, one of those games where you run around doing little tasks.
Surprisingly, I didn't care much for halo 2. So many people say how much better it is than the first, but I don't see it. Maybe it's because I only played the first couple stages? Again, halo 3 will have a lot to live up to after gears of war came out.
After hearing how good the buffy the vampire series was on the xbox, I finally got to try out one of them, chaos bleeds or something like that, and while at the beginning it looked about like any other type of game, it had a somewhat unique, yet simple attackinging technique, etc, which I found pretty cool. Punch punch, kick kick, and then stab the vampires in the heart with the wooden stake when their vitality is low, just like in the tv series.
Other than messing with the xbox, I've been working on my new media room. It'll probably be several months before it's finished, but in the last 2 or 3 years, about 2/3rds of my collection has been sold off.
