It was in development back in 2004, but it was being developed by Acclaim, which didn't get it out because they'd gone bankrupt by the time they could do anything with it. I played a demo of it back then, and then the game disappeared.
Now it's finally been released, and is even better than I remember it back then. Anybody else buy this, played it, heard about it...? Anything?
I've never heard of it. What is it about? What system is it for?
It's for the PS2. Basically... think Ikaruga, mixed with Contra, mixed with Golden Axe. It's one of the best beat-'em-ups I've ever played. It's about a modern-day, opposite-dimension Russia that, for some reason or another, has been overrun with an opposing force that needs to be stopped.
I might not be doing it justice in the description, but it's a great game and a budget title. Worth picking up for a measly twenty bucks. :-)
It sounds good, but there's still too much other stuff out at the moment that I have to play. Odin Sphere ships this week, and from what I've heard it's pretty amazing.
If I run out of other stuff to play, I'll definitely give it some thought though, since the beat 'em up genre has been pretty stagnant. Personally, I think the gaming world needs more Mike Haggar.
