Title: The First XBOX
Description: Retailers not stocking them any more?

I've checked several web sites: walmart, bestbuy, and gamestop, and none of them sell xbox systems any more. I would have thought that they may be good sellers for around the $99 price mark this holiday, especially because of the lack of backwards compatibility in the 360. There are lots of original xbox games out there, many cheap on ebay and other places.

I also think it is kind of sad that retailers are abandoning a system that still has a steady supply of games being made for it. The XBOX still has lots more to give to gamers.

Interesting.

Maybe it's just headed out like PS2 and the 'Cube will soon be, due to decreasing demand and the emergence of the new systems.

360 has bc issues, but not PS3 and Wii. They have rendered their respective predecessors useless. If you're a Sony fanboy, why buy a new PS2 at this point? The same holds true for Xbox, despite the bc woes (I'm sure they're working on that.)

I suppose no one else that doesn't have an Xbox wants one now. 360 is doing too well, and continuing to push Xbox 1 sales could be just a waste of time and effort, since the 'new offerings' you speak of are already being made for 360- why buy an Xbox 1 in 2007?

I guess would-be owners will just have to get one used for cheap now.

At EB we haven't had new X-Box's in about a year or so, I really don't think they make them anymore. you might have to go with a used one.

They've been discontinued for a little while now, since the 360 has started to take off. We haven't had them at Fry's since noticably before I started there (back in September).

Here's another shocker, for me at least. I went to bestbuy yesterday, because I was doing some Christmas shopping and had some coupons/certificates for being in the rewardzone program. I noticed that their xbox 360 section pretty much got halved since the last time I was there. There were hardly any titles that I'd personally like to see.

Of course, if they actually had ps3 systems and WII systems and lots of games for those systems, it'd be obvious that they would have to make room, but they don't. Places like bestbuy can have an impact on which console wins or loses the war, if they limit or abandon the systems and games.

that's why Best Buy sucks, trust me i used to work there. alot of those choices of where to put games is sometimes made by the media department themselves and they don't listen or follow direction from the home office.
