Last week there was a tie between Adventure of link and a Link to the past with 2 votes each.
Now with 2 new systems coming out this month, I was wondering what is your favorite Era in gameing, Do you still like the childhood memories of playing the Atari 2600 or are you like me and remember you teenage years playing the Genesis and Super nes. Or are you just into curent and Next gen graphics and games.
The more votes the better so let us know which one you like best.
I picked the 8-bit era but I'm torn between that and the 16-bit era. I liked both eras and the games that came out. The new stuff is almost all the same garbage, although, there is some cool stuff in the new era.
For me it's the 16bit Era. I love playing games today but most of them i play by myself. back in the day we used to huddle around and play streets of rage, street fighter, Mortal Kombat and the list goes on.
Games were fresher back then, even though the graphics and other crap weren't as good as today i think they were more fun to play.
Steve C, I fully agree. Games from the early '90s never get old. It's a shame later consoles only managed to echo the earlier ideas and creativity we have grown to love and cherish.
I have very fond memories of all of the eras. The atari 2600 era was like the carefree days. Most all games were simple, and even my parents liked to play it. Then we have the colecovision/atari computer era, which was an 8 bit era as well. Better graphics, many pirated games on the atari computer, etc. If you had 100 floppy diskettes at the time, you probably had at least 500 games.
Then the 16-bit era - turbo grafx and sega cd were awesome. So, I chose that era as my favorite. What can I say? Dracula X, Lunar 1 and 2, shining series, dark wizard (my favorite,) and many others.
32-Bit and 64-bit eras were, imo, the worse of them all. Atari Jaguar, 3DO, CD-I, N64. There were games on each that I liked and a lot of people considered good, but for the most part, to me, they were all flops. I loved star control and road rash on the 3do. CD-I had a better representation of true laserdisc arcade ports than the sega cd and also played vcds. Jaguar, while kind of corny, also did have a few cool games. N64 had ocarina of time and majoris mask, as well as rogue squadron, which were all good games.
