*-OPTIONAL STEP

we want a finished product like this user posted image

to do this follow these steps: make a background, whatever bg you feel like, just try to make it a color other then black or white if possible

1) make a text, any text, any font
2) give that text layer a stroke of white like so user posted image
3) hit ctrl+j to duplicate the layer
4) give the bottom text layer a stroke of black, only bigger then the last, like this i guess user posted image
5) rasterize both text layers by right clicking them and selecting "rasterize layer"
6) merge these layers by selecting the top layer and hitting ctrl+e
7) select the layer properties and set it to linear burn on the text layer user posted image
*8) if you dont like the size of the outer stroke you can change it by going to your blending options and messing with the stroke options.
