Hi, anyone had this problem.
Rear brake lights come on when the sidelights are switched on. Brake lights work normally. Have identified the correct wire and fuse is okay. Looks like it may have happened to a previous owner as the rear sidelight cable has a piece of masking tape on it.
A known fault or any ideas?
Confused!!!

Check the earths, and whether the wrong type of bulb has been fitted.
