Hi all
I feel a bit of a fraud ,joining before buying a vehicle. I am looking to aquire the newest, lowest milage,3 door td4 I can find at a not too rip off price. I wondered if any of you experts out there have any advice to offer on the relative merits of the various models or any common problems to look out for.

The TD4 is quite a tough cookie. The problems to look for,

1) The Ird

2) The VCU

3) Rear diff mounts

4) Electrics, Windows, tail gate window.

Late model F1's with a dealer service history tends to be good motor's. My Y plate TD4 has a 168000 on the clock and it's still going strong. Good choice of motor. When I joined the FLC I didn't have a Freebie either.
