Title: Engine Non-starting
Description: POSSIBLE CAUSES

PAUL CLAYTON - January 18, 2009 05:53 PM (GMT)
Hi all,
After driving my 1.8 freelander for five miles and stopping. On returning i have real problems with it starting. After a while it will start again but then acts as though there is a petrol starvation problem. I have had it serviced and had the fuel filter changed but no change. Main dealers say that it needs to show a fault to get it fixed? (Big help)
Does anyone know what this could be?

This happened to mine a few weeks ago. Spent ages trying to find the cause like fuel starvation etc turned out to be the rotor arm and dizzy cap. £12 later all sorted.

Also try the earth on the starter motor, COMMON PROBLEM

mine does a similar thing you can drive for a few miles with no probs and then it loses al power but the engine stays running if you try to set off it won't go, if you turn the engine off for a while it will usually go but sometimes only for a short time and then loses power again. Any ideas??
