to blackpool next weekend have'nt been there for years :D then to keilder water in 3 weeks time that the one trip i 'am looking forward to,just have to get my td4 though its 1st mot on tuesday :rolleyes:

im off to kelider for half term 27th oct have you been before ? whats it like ? is there still a problem with midges in oct lol

octber is the best time to go to keilder to avoid the midges 'and i have been going to keilder for around ten years now.we stay on the caravan club site mainly although there is a smaller site about ten miles down the road which can be very muddy if it rains ,keilder castle is worth a vist and they sometimes have 4x4 driveing days through the area following one of their d90 through the woods normanlystarts about half 6 to 7 .00 in the morning at the castle and its a full day outing need to take own food ect apart from that were plenty of good walks or bike rides and most of the pubs do good bar meals .norththumberland water have their own camp site for tents and allso houses they let out near the lake which has its own s/pool which you need to book to use and also they have their own bar/cafe thats open all day best to book in advence for eveing meals and you can also get the keilder ferry from there for a trip around the lake .

this 4x4 thing sounds good have you been on it before with the freebie ?? sounds like we picked a good place just hoping for zero midges they really like my blood lol . how long are you going for ? [drve]

no i ever been on the 4x4 driveing days .they are only run 5 times dureing the year and they allways seem to be the week beforehalf term or the week after it just my luck . 'the 1st one is in april normanly then it depends when they felling the trees after that as the trucks use some of the routes to remove the log's ,i'am going from friday 24octber through untill the following sunday .the midges allso seem to like the wife's blood to as they seem to attack her while i'am enjoying a pint or 2 sat outside the bar. ;)

hi bill2 just been looking on keilders web site that 4x4 drive is on saturday 25th october the day after i get there doh :( :(

i never thought to check the web site :rolleyes: i'try and talk the wife into going but i don't think we will find the time allway's seem to have to much to do on the 1st full day sorting things out .
