Title: Lombard Endurance Rally 2008
Description: Plea for Help from Members

Claudia A - September 9, 2008 04:32 PM (GMT)
Hi All

This is a request for assistance in the way of marshalls (with 4x4s) for the Lombard Endurance Rally 2008 - It starts in Harrogate on 6th November, goes up into south and mid Scotland, then returns back to Harrogate on 9th November.

The whole team are a great bunch but really could do with some more help so we would be grateful for assistance from any of you who could spare a little time - and see some great rallying through the selectifs!

If you would like further details best to email me or my partner at work: cvs-vehicles@hotmail.co.uk

Many Thanks for Letting me post on your forum.

PS: I do own a Freelander, so I'm not really cheating!

Kind Regards
Claudia A [drve]

Hi Claudia & welcome. You don't have to own a freelander to join the club ! or the Forum

I hope you get some volunteers and to maybe help things along -

do you need volunteers to be Club members?

what geographical areas are we talking about? (within the broad spectrum in your post)

what duties are you expecting from people?

There is a big difference between ferrying people around in a stage and performing recovery in a stage.
ie: do you need people who are experienced at recovery? or 1st aid?

Not all members use the forum so we could mail out a request to our database.

Was supposed to be working over exactly those days.... looks like I will have to put in a leave pass :D

I'm up for this for all the days advertised.

I'm First Aid, Heartstart (Defib) and Medical Gas (Oxygen) qualified with St John Ambulance if thats any help Claudia.

So as George asked, what do you need me to do. Also what is the Food and Accom situation ;)

Good Morning

Many Thanks to you all :) Email has been received, replied and actioned. A mention in your Newsletter to other members would be great

The route (ish) will start at Harrogate Showground, it then goes off NE and tracks back into the middle of the country, passing up towards Hexham & Northwards. Through Carlisle, lowland Scotland (westish) up to Glasgow - over the Clyde and then a bit further North. The route then returns back South to end at Harrogate - although not idential selectifs.

Sorry that's all a bit vague for obvious reasons!

As for duties, we would like any assistance available - Marshall points involve noting cars as they pass you, communicating information from the stage, start and finish marshall points, manning spectator areas etc. We do have roving Medic cover but other trained personnel are always welcome. With some of the selectifs 4x4s are a sensible vehicle to get into them (means you usually get really good rally action too!). Radios are not essential but if anyone had 81 mHz that would be a real bonus - you can never have too many!

No major experience necessary as we would not ask someone to perform recovery operations who wasn't used to doing so.

Hope that does give a broad overview. If anyone wants to email either Rob or myself for further details we'll be able to give a clearer idea. Our works landline is 01328 856932

We are away this weekend on the Richard Burns Memorial Rally so will not get back to the internet till Monday

Look forward to hearing from you.
Claudia
