Title: Soft Top Info

Simon - July 18, 2008 04:48 PM (GMT)
Hi

My partner wants to buy a Freelander (1st generation) with a soft top, but there aren’t many of these around. Can a soft top be fitted to a 3 door with removable hard top? If so roughly how much would a hood cost?

Thanks

Yes, as long as you buy the complete kit.
Price......?
Look on ebay plus also ask your local dealer whether they have any second hand ones, as some dealers seem to swop them for hard backs, as they are easier to sell.

That’s excellent, thanks for your help.

f you cant find a soft top try the rain cover, easy to fit and pretty water tight and folds into a small bag when not in use.... heres a topless pic of my girl!user posted image

the soft tops are a bit of an art to fit properly, if buying 2nd hand make sure all the zips work on the side windows and at the rear make sure its not frayed or ripped where it attatches under the e post trims, try to get someone to set the hood as they tear very easy if the tention bars are not set right, (i used to fit the tops on track at sollihull)
