Title: Something Useful

Thought I would stick a little info in this section as it’s a bit bare.
I use TomTom Navigator on my phone for getting around new places. I have found that the safety camera files you get from TomTom are expensive and not that up to date. So after hunting around a bit I found the following web site:

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/

If you become a PocketGPSWorld member you get to down load when needed (update every month) a safety camera file suitable for the system you use. It is extremely good. Any long journey that I take I always update this file before I go. It picks up the hand held, portable and speed over distance cameras and others.
Also if you go to http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=POIs you can download lots of useful POI for free. The default POI on the TomTom Navigator were to say the least not good, couldn’t even find the local railway station. I downloaded the POI for railway stations and can find any station I need now. Although I don’t use it yet there is a POI file for LPG garages. I am not sure how useful this will be for those of you that have built in GPS though.

Hope you find this useful.

PocketGPS World also give 'lifetime' updates to the speed camera database.
'Lifetime' means 20 years.
I know - I've earnt a 'lifetime' subscription.
Thought it wouldn't apply to me as I never see cameras being installed. Even the sets over the M20 were installed and on the database before I suspected they were going in!
Updates are roughly every two to four weeks, and down in Kent have been noted for a couple of sites with a day of being installed!
MANY systems are supported, so do have a look to see if your model is covered.
Also the service covers parts of Europe, the States and Oz (& elsewhere?). Members are encouraged to submit new locations. First submission provider is granted the 'lifetime' membership when the site is verified.

If anyone is doing a deal on the 4 disc updates, I'm interested in obtaining some after a 4 year old bypass was considered Off Road!!! [drve]
