Title: Future Problems to be advised of
Description: HeadGasket?

thrux30ton - May 14, 2008 05:42 PM (GMT)
I have recently purchased a 2000 X Reg 3 Door, on discussing the vehicle i was advised of the HeadGasket requiring repair, this was a problem which i was aware on the K Series engine and have an MG F which suffered a similar problem, but since has been fine?

The garge also advised that they would do an upgrade on the radiator pipes i think which should prevent any re-occurance

What problems, if any can I expect in the future, appreciate any advice?/

what sorta of mileage has the car done? they tend to go around 30-35k and depending on if the garage put an upgraded set on it may go again mine went at 32 now on 51 and no problems so far

It has done approx 52k. It was only recently that the oil leak was noticed and the car was not driven until it was replaced, along with the upgraded hoses? Does this sound correct?

not sure on the hoses.. but there is a guy on here that will know, mine didnt have the oil leak it just sorta imploded just as i joined a roundabout!.... whats the difference with the updated hoses? are they wider than the origional, thinner? personally i cant see the difference in replacing hoses but im sure i'll soon find out

>passes this one to george
