Title: Fav Cast Member
J.J. - April 9, 2006 05:16 PM (GMT)
I hope I've done this correctly...
If you have more than one choice, you can put your top in the poll and then add an explanation why he/she is your top pick, then if you would like to add others in descending order, please do, it usually sparks discussion :D
*I'm sorry I come from boards that do polls and have a game section... It helps with the whole issue of posting :D*

I chose Garcia because she steals every moment she's in. I also like Morgan (I love his little "If I were this person, why would I do this?" moments) and Reid is just a darling.
As for my least favourite - I don't hate any character - but I'm still waiting for JJ to do something interesting (of course, I've only seen four episodes so maybe that will change).
J.J. - April 9, 2006 05:31 PM (GMT)
I think it depends on the writers... I thought her character was going to be just a background~ish kinda character... So I can see what you're saying about her actually 'doing' something interesting...
Cat - April 9, 2006 10:18 PM (GMT)
I am a Derek Morgan fan, but I honestly thought I was going to be a Reid girl since I don't normally go for the over-muscled jock type, but Morgan not only has dashingly handsome good looks, but he also has the brains and confidence. I love a man who has self confidence but isn't afraid of being vunerable and the biggest turn on for me is a brain between the ears. Morgan just does it for me. He seems to have it all, but Reid and Hotch ain't bad. :)

I picked Gideon, definetely. Just an awesome character, even though I like all of them!
J.J. - April 10, 2006 02:44 AM (GMT)
I have to put it this way, but Morgan's every movement totally oozes sex appeal, sexy, sex (hope I don't offend, and feel free to edit if need be)... His body language is so precise it kills me... I guess it stems from the actors modelling days ;)
Reid, well LOVE a guy with intelligence, but his quasi-anti-social behaviour, doesn't give him many points... Maybe the writers have been reading through the fanfic and saw how the audience perceive him, and have fed off that with Somebody's Watching. That was a Reid I never thought I'd see! Even confident in himself.
Gideon is Gideon, so complex that even being stranded on a deserted island with him for eternity wouldn't give you all the answers... :D that sounds like a really nice thought, when I think about it ;)
GideonsGirlAnanke - April 10, 2006 04:08 AM (GMT)
All the actors and actresses are great, but I picked Gideon because I'm
MAD ABOUT MANDY!!!
(And yes, you can quote me on that one, J.J.! ;) )

I think I will ;)
Is there any other reason you picked Gideon?? (there's no whistling smily, but if there were... It's right here :D)

LOL! I'm mean!

Umm...
No, I guess not...
He's a little too serious and intellectual...I actually liked Rube better.

I couldn't agree more. The man is so fluid and self-confident that the sex appeal just oozes out of my TV screen every week. I found I have to tape the epis just to watch them over again to figure out the plot because whenever he walks into the frame, I am just drawn. :D

Yes I am! (That's part of the charm)
I find him very intense... However, as pretentious as some of those quotes are at times.... I don't stop myself from closing my eyes and listening to his voice... I think it's Won't be Fooled Again. The one about Bale and Boston? At the end they faded to black a little too soon... He has quite the cat that swallowed the canary smile there... Very self-satisfied, elated even. Perhaps it was therapeutic for him to put the fox in his place. Anyways, very dashing smile and we really didn't get to see too much of it :(
I like Rube too! But that's because he captivated me in an instant (that twinkle in his eye)...
*Brains get me every time ;)

greenleo - April 16, 2006 10:51 PM (GMT)
I had a hard time choosing between Morgan and Elle, seeing as how they are both my favorites...However, I have to say that I love the entire cast...All of the characters are interesting and unique. In the end, I had to go with Elle, gotta give the girl her props. She's strong, compassionate, and very pretty. And I cannot wait to see more of her. Maybe she's got skeletons in her closet as we all do. :D
J.J. - April 16, 2006 11:00 PM (GMT)
The thing with Elle I'm trying to figure out is what happened to her... Something really dark is behind those eyes... well, really dark and somewhat mysterious because of that event or events...

I know what you mean - there is a dark side to her.
I wonder though - she did work in Sexual Crimes for quite a while - is there maybe more to that? I'm thinking of that scene where she tells the twin in Broken Mirror "There's nothing I'd want to do more with my life that putting this scum away" (or words to that effect). Do you think maybe it could be something to do with a sexual attack?
J.J. - April 16, 2006 11:49 PM (GMT)
I thought that as well.., I was wondering if it's personal experience or perhaps a sister, aunt, cousin or even friend who had that experience...
greenleo - April 16, 2006 11:53 PM (GMT)
I also noticed that...Here is the direct dialogue:
CHERYL DAVENPORT: I don't know how you do it ... this job. How do you stomach
it?
ELLE: The men I hunt down are cowards. For the most part, they target the
weakest members of society, women and children. There's nothing I'd rather do more than put the bastards away.
Because we are just speculating and are not talking about a particular spoiler, is it still considered a spoiler discussion?
SEMI SPOILER...I guess...
I also feel that maybe she was raped when she was younger and defenseless...Lots of people become cops after an event in their lives changes their worlds...I really think that something horrible happened in her past...maybe her mother was raped and murdered? But I really think that Elle was the victim...she just really hates the bad guys...and she is very tough...maybe for a reason...
I hope we learn more about who she is and how she grew up...Same goes for Morgan because we don't know anything about him other than that he is a player when it comes to the ladies...Perhaps he doesn't want serious relationships with women because he lost someone who he loved...maybe she was murdered and now he does not want to fall for anyone...who knows? We need to learn about who he is also...
J.J. - April 17, 2006 12:06 AM (GMT)
This kinda spoiler~ish I suppose, but he does have an answer for that... But I won't give it away.
Just think of the nature of the job they do... How does one balance that kind of work and a 'real life'
Or as in one of my fav scens between Rube and George in DLM (Ghost Story)
GEORGE: I need the day off tomorrow. Can you cover for me?
RUBE: You know, George, reaping is not like some waitresses trading their shifts.(raises her eyes to the ceiling and lowers her voice)
GEORGE: The noble vocation.
RUBE: I don't need your smart mouth.
GEORGE: It's serious business.
RUBE: Serious business. I need to know where you are. You are like an E.R. doc. Do you understand that? You're on call. You're on call 24/7.
GEORGE: 365!
RUBE: I don't need you smart mouth!
Same goes for the BAU...
ac5000 - April 17, 2006 12:40 AM (GMT)
i LOVE all the characters, but if i had to choose one, i'd say morgan because he's so arrogant...kinda wierd but whatever. I also like his interaction with garcia.
JJ probably could be a really cool character if she was in more than 2 scenes in an episode. Im not suggesting that they write her off but if they're gonna have her, give her more scenes, otherwise, dont have her on at all.
Reid kind of annoys me with how much he knows and it makes me feel really really really really really dumb. Both Elle and Hotch need to smile more, in my opnion although their glares would send me running the other way. Gideon is just really really intense and i can't stand really really serious people...but that's just my opinion...
J.J. - April 17, 2006 01:03 AM (GMT)
If I were to be put in a room with Gideon, I’d sure as heck admit to whatever it is they were charging me with… I don’t think he’d have to open his mouth… I did it! I did it! I stole the last newbie cookie <j.k.>
GideonsGirlAnanke - April 17, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
Oh, totally!
Hotch too!
~)~
Add me to the "Elle was raped" list.
Kyle - April 17, 2006 11:25 PM (GMT)
Yeah, they're all close.. Like I don't think I could pick a favorite, but once again, I did vote for Gideon.
SpencerReid - May 8, 2006 02:05 AM (GMT)
My favorite character is Reid. He is smart, he has incredible abilities yet he has this innocence about him that I find very endearing. He knows all sorts of facts but he is very humble about the things he knows. I like how he splurts all this facts when he is somewhat nervous....and how he is sometimes so innocently clueless as to how people react to all the unnecessary information. I also love his quirks and mannerism that match his personality perfectly.
I love how he interacts with all the members of the team and how all seem so protective of him, especially Morgan and Gideon.
rainbowsparkle - June 4, 2006 02:20 PM (GMT)
I voted for Gideon (and not just cos I  Mandy), but because I like characters who I think I would feel safe with. I loved the moment in the ep with the mob serial killer who pasted Hotch, when Gideon was so concerned and said, "Take your tie off for once in your life." He's a still water that runs very deep and that's soooo attractive.
If I'd been able to add another vote it would have been Garcia. She's ace ace ace!!! I love her. She's totally girly bestest mate material!!!
J.J. - June 4, 2006 03:41 PM (GMT)
Gideon has that quiet expression (I can't really put a finger on it)... He's many things and always shows a concern for those around him (yes, he's the boss, but he's also Reid's mentor, Hotch's friend, etc.)
He encompasses all of the above despite the show's darkness and seriousness... Everyone is always so, you know? Stoic or whatever (his eyes, however, betray that darkness... His warmth shines through to the un-subs victims... The lady in the Tommy killer ep, the little girl who had been kidnapped...
Mr Patinkin is an awesome actor that can say so much with just a look --> If you've seen Dead Like Me, you can really see it in his character Rube (the way he is with George, despite the seriousness of whatever the situation, Rube has a soft spot for her and you can see it in his eyes)...
ac5000 - June 14, 2006 04:08 PM (GMT)
wow...that was deep...
i dunno...at the beginning of the season, i really liked Morgan...but JJ's growing on me...so im kinda confused at this point...
Kyle - June 17, 2006 07:05 PM (GMT)
They never show enough of J.J. on the show.. It's ridiculous.
anyways, I think Elle is great too.. She's just cool lol.
Garcia is awesome too, even though she's like a side character. She's funny tho lol
frog786 - July 15, 2006 02:26 AM (GMT)
I love Garcia's humour... she adds a little bit of comedic relief in the mix of the harshness
carolinablue - July 15, 2006 12:18 PM (GMT)
Wow- this is so difficult because the more you watch the more you realize how well the characters complement each other.
Love them all for different reasons.
Personally I identify most with Hotch. After he revealed to the mob killer that he too came from a violent home, I realized that as an Adult Child he is perfect for his job managing the team. I also love his struggles to maintain a home life. The scene where he finally stops trying to parent his younger brother was great. And when he asked Gideon if sometimes he didn't think that killing off the killers was the way to go - I'd like to see more of his own internal struggle with the legacy of violence.
huuudaaa - July 15, 2006 01:20 PM (GMT)
Whoever came up with all these carachter is a genius, so he/she is my fav. haha.
anyways. obviously my fav is Reid. I've always had this... thing for geeks/nerds/geniuses. the fact that he's.. skinny? and tall and socially inapt just adds to it. hehh. i know i'm weird. But i cant help it. I melt at the side of tall skiny ppl. nyiahah.
morgan's gorgeous. hes hot. hes intelligent. hes... well. hes hot.
gideon is just superb. mysterious? erm. hes more than words!
hotch... i dont like him that much yet. Plus, he kicked reid!! he couldve thought of a btter idea, couldnt he?!! (im talking bout the LDSK episode, btw. but ofcoz, obviously all of u who watched it must know)
elle is great.
garcia's hilarious!
dont know jj that well yet. but so far, i dont lke her coz reid asked her out =((((((((((((((((((((((((
Elle - August 1, 2006 11:14 PM (GMT)
JJ because she never seems to be shown!
But Elle(not just because of the name!) but its nice to see more strong female roles in shows.
Morgan i just love!
frog786 - August 1, 2006 11:27 PM (GMT)
huda I agree with you on most of the reasons why you like Reid... I tend to like guys that are socially awkward and generally not understood... for some odd reason, my choice in guys- is very interesting.. lol
ac5000 - August 2, 2006 02:37 AM (GMT)
lol...me too...my friends still laugh at me for hooking up with Rick, who is kinda socially awkward...
Rach112 - August 2, 2006 09:44 AM (GMT)
Aww bless. Socially akward guys can just be so sweet though.....
I couldn't pick a favourite character, they are all great in their own way
ac5000 - August 2, 2006 02:29 PM (GMT)
yeah...i just think that they need to show a lot more JJ because she could be a really cool character if only the writers expanded a bit more on her....i think ive said this somewhere before, but i dont remember if it was on this board or on imdb...
Rach112 - August 2, 2006 05:28 PM (GMT)
J.J is such a great character. Next season I hope we learn more about J.J and Morgan's backgrounds. I especially want J.J. to be expanded on.
Kyle - August 2, 2006 09:34 PM (GMT)
I think she will. She was on a lot of the episodes with Garcia [which if i could revote, i would pick Garcia as my favorite character. :)]
anyways, let's hope she is.. :)
ac5000 - August 2, 2006 11:44 PM (GMT)
i think AJ Cook and Kristen Vangnessessss (sp)...its wrong...but whatever...work great together. The writers made a great move of putting them together, those two play the two brightest (as in HAPPY) characters on the show and sticking them together was an awesome idea...especially in the second to last and last episode. i hope we see more of that in season 2!

I have to agree with this.
Plus, there's something refreshing about Lola.
