Hi,

I love messing about on Paint Shop, and so in boredom today I came up with three new avatars for Criminal Minds. I plan to make more (well, I do if you like them, if you pelt me with rotten food while screaming "I hate you" I might be put off slightly.)

Is there a program that you have to have to make them? I find that when I try doing it through Photoshop (they end up waaaaay toooo large) and from what I can tell, there's a lot of detail in them...
I'd love to give avatar making (the proper way) a go....

I use Paint Shop Pro - I usually just copy a few pictures and mess about with them until I get something I like. If you go to Corel online they have a 30 day free trial of Paint Shop if you want to try it out.

As for the size issue - on Paint Shop you can set the sze of the pic when you create it - I just type in 100 x 100 so it won't get too big.

Photoshop gives you the choice, but when you translate it to avatar, it's always too big... I usually end up with a greyscale bit format, that doesn't work for everyone...

I've done one more (to celebrate watching to repeat again tonight). I'll probably work my way through the characters and then maybe do some shippy ones (if that's okay?)

Yeah, it seems as if the people from Criminal Minds watched NCIS and thought "let's make her seem like abby." She reminds me exactly of her. :)

Trust me, it makes things a lot harder! =D I've gone through PaintShop Pro X and Photoshop 7.. but right now I've got the full program of Adobe Photoshop CS (8).. and I'm loving it. Although I have to re-install it, now. The wonderful world of computers! :P
