I've been wanting to start to make avatars so I was wondering what programs you guys use to make your avatars?

I use Photoshop 7, which I find really easy to use, but that may just be me. My mum uses Paint Shop Pro, and she finds taht easier to use than Photoshop, so I guess its down to preference. And not sure of the cost, I got PS from my Uncle for my birthday.

I use Paint Shop Pro 9, its cheap, about $60 and its a wonderful program, its very similar to Photoshop CS *Which I have and have had and used* but the differences are small but the price is the biggest difference

I have Paint Shop Pro 11. Since it's the newest version, it cost about $150 (Canadian).

I have a program on my computer called Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 and I find it kind of hard to use. I'm wondering if anyone else has it and have any tips.

well, i havent tried version 4.0 but i cant imagine that its very different from the two previous versions, with which ive never had any problems with. I havnt really have any tip other than practise, try, dont give up, its really easy as long as you get a hold of the tools.. (i know that its an unnecessary post, but, well, yeah:P)

I use Photoshop CS and yeah it is not that easy to use, you have to try a lot to get to know all features...but sometimes there are people who know how to handle the program and they give some courses (it is here in Germany like that). But you can find tutorials @ Livejournal, just look for sites there where they describe how to do some things on icons, they make the tutorials pretty good.
I don't know the price I got mine from a friend.

Thanks for all your help. I've been goofin' around with the program for a while and I think I'm kinda gettin' the hang of it. Hopefully I can start making avatars soon. Although I'll be honest, they'll probably be pretty bad. :rolleyes:
