Title: thinking ahead to part two
Description: some possible scenarios?

I love this show! - February 6, 2007 11:21 PM (GMT)
Okay I had two new thoughts (and the chances of either of them being worked in the story are slim but it was interesting to think about)

In the next episode Reid is supposed to have flashbacks to his childhood.....(coincidently that was what the unsub was doing in the first part - do you think that could be related in any way? Maybe while Reid is trying to talk to the unsub and figure him out that triggers some shared psychosis.

And also I thought this would be an interesting time to refer back to Elle and what happened to her. Not that Reid is going to go shoot someone now but Hotch also sent Elle home when she was attacked and now He sent Reid and JJ and Reid gets held hostage. And do you think he will come back to the BAU "like nothing happened?"

any thoughts on these ideas?

well...Reid is going to be tortured, we know that for sure and he's going to have flashbacks. When he comes back, i think he's going to have some sort of a mental breakdown and they might have a whole storyline on that.

Both Hotch and JJ are probably going to take it pretty hard, and judging by the trailers, JJ will probably be a mess.

I think MGG will have a breakdown, which is dangerous for him with the schizo gene. And I know some people are totally into Hotch..but he just never seems to be over affected by anything that happens to his team. I saw an article that said something like "Thomas Gibson will suffer from severe TMJ after having his jaw locked in place for so many hours..." and I just thought that was so true.

Nelly will make her primetime acting debut next month on an episode of CSI: NY.
She plays Ava Grant, a shoplifter accused of murder, in an episode of the hit CBS show. Nelly shot her scenes in Los Angeles, where all three CSI series are primarily filmed.

yeah really...that team just happens to be super unlucky...but it makes for a great storyline!...CM is getting a lot of promotion on CBS...ive seen the trailer for the two parter about 500 times since yesterday...and CTV's playing it a lot as well!

I don't think that Reid will come back completely normal- after all who really would? I think he'll have issues but I see Hotch and Gideon looking out more as they kind of really didn't for Elle (so maybe they learnt from that).

I honestly see JJ more affected by this then Reid- although... it really depends on how much they torture him too. And if the dogs even remotely get her.

I thought the whole Garcia Morgan hug in the previews was cute. Awww!

CriminalMindsFan - February 7, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
Oh man, I am going to break down if it turns out Reid has a breakdown.

hmr1126 - February 7, 2007 10:37 PM (GMT)
I guess the direction that they will take Reid in after this episode will depend on whether or not the writers are seriously thinking of giving Reid a drug problem...you would think that it any drug use, at least for it to be believable would come from Reid having to take some type of pain meds or sleep aids in response to his being kidnapped...just a thought.

I agree that JJ will be upset...I mean, she will probably feel vulnerable and a little guilty, even though it wasn't her idea to split up...she could have followed Reid anyway.

ac5000 - February 8, 2007 01:06 AM (GMT)
OH MY GOODNESS!!! you know what i just thought of!! This could totally be the opening of a relationship between Reid and JJ!!! wouldn't that be awesome?!?! (for me anyway...)

hmr1126 - February 8, 2007 02:34 PM (GMT)
AC - I agree with you, although the writers have said, at least in the tv guide article, that they are planning a possible relationship for JJ, but they didn't think it would be with someone on the team...but JJ looked relieved to see Reid last night and she was the second person to go to him, before even Gideon or Morgan, who seem to view Reid as a son/brother.

On that note, however, I would love to see a JJ/Reid relationship...or at least a little flirtation, especially since JJ is now out in the field with them a bit more :)

That would be great. These are two of my favorite characters.

hmr1126 - February 8, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
Me too :) I wouldn't want the relationship to take away from the actual stories b/c I love that...but even the hint of a relationship could be cool :)

lfleia - February 8, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
I seriously just don't see the JJ/Reid thing. (No offense) I can see Reid having a crush-thing on her, but JJ treats him too much like a younger brother (and everyone else for that case) than someone she feels to be on her same level that she could have a relationship with. There'd have to be a serious turning point somewhere for that to happen.

^ I agree with you "Ifleia" I just don't see J.J. liking Reid romantically.

I think my biggest concern is the show getting too far away from the crime stories and turning too much into a typical prime-time soap opera. There are enough of those...I like the smart, clever plots of the show and the action and the thinking in catching the criminals. (just my opinion)

*snicker* it's Lfleia actually. ^^ my intials and my nick.

I'm a little worried about that as well, but they have such great plots attributed to the kinds of crimes that they are dealing with I think it would be hard to turn it into a show completely about the characters.

I love this show! - February 8, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
Ooopps! Sorry about the name thing! :D

I do like finding out stuff about the characters...I just don't want that to be the focus of the show. (I kinda like the mystery of not knowing too much about the characters and having to piece it together.)

lfleia - February 9, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
no prob, it's a common mistake because of the Arial font, makes it look like a capital "I"

I agree, the thing I llke about Pretiss *even though I'm not caring for her character* is that she's a puzzle to solve, figuring out where all her characteristics come from.

frog786 - February 9, 2007 01:12 AM (GMT)
hmr: a relationship for JJ with someone outside of the team- maybe this will cause Reid to be jealous if he liked her- maybe thats his arch-rival, or perhaps it'll cause him to go into this depressive state and take more drugs

I love this show! - February 9, 2007 01:25 AM (GMT)
^ oh great! That's a happy thought Frog! <_<

Sorry- I know its not the happiest thought- I was just spewing random things that could happen

I love this show! - February 9, 2007 01:44 AM (GMT)
I was just kidding! :D None of us knows which way this is going to go. I'm just hoping it's not going to be too bad because I will be very disappointed and I don't want to be because......(insert my user name here)

hmr1126 - February 9, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
Frog: You make good points :) I just hope if JJ does get an outside relationship, that it doesn't cause Reid to get depressed - I would be so sad!!
