Just thought Id post a few of my recently made avatars, now I know how to make 'em. They kinda suck, but it beats boredom, so Im happy! Anyhoo, heres some of them, tell me what you think:

Those are so cool! :D Wish I had time/patience/ability to make avatars too...

I'm gonna assume you use photoshop.
Watch your cropping. It seemed to have sreached out the photo.
also, you may want to screen some of the darker caps. there fore they wouldn't be so dark xD
Also on the ones in the second post you may want to watch how much contrast/brightness you add because it makes it way to bright and distorted.
And finally, the top two look kinda grainy, I'm guessing it's from over sharpening. you may want to try to use the unsharp mask.

Also, tiny text and other little decorations work wonders.

Not to say all that in a negitive way, just I'm trying to help you.

No, thats absolutly fine, I hapan to be one of these strange people that thrive on constructive critisicm! :D

I didn't sharpen the top 2, the just sorta, happaned *shrug* not sure how, or why, lol

And I shall try some of the other things you mentioned, and expect to be bombareded soon! *mwah ha ha ha!*
