So... anyone else left speechless after this episode? If I didn't know that Elle was leaving before hand, I would of probably of died of a heart attack. Nevertheless, I still jumped because I thought for a second that everything was false, and she was just going to let him walk away..

Kyle - October 19, 2006 02:28 AM (GMT)
hah i sort of knew she was going to shoot him. :( and this will prolly be how Elle ends up leaving. :(

but besides that, I thought the episode was great.. I loved that Dayton Police officer.. and JJ was on there a little more altho she was still barely on there.

I can't wait to see what happens next week.

Yeow - October 19, 2006 02:35 AM (GMT)
Definetely. I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed like they focused ALOT more attention on that Dayton Police Officer than they do with most of the other local area cops, ie she rented that room right across from everybody. Maybe it was just for it to flow along with Elle leaving.

CriminalReid - October 19, 2006 04:51 AM (GMT)
Is she the one that is replacing Elle? (she being the Dayton police officer)

mkp2008 - October 19, 2006 06:42 AM (GMT)
I don't know if she's the new girl though (for once) I don't think I'd mind if she did. She worked with the show's chemistry and trust me that's saying something (I usually hate female leads from other teams [nothing against girls, I am one] because they usually cause friction in the normal flow).

As for the episode, all I have to say is... :o (about 100 times). I thought she was going to shoot him in her 'yard' but that was unexpected. And how smoothly she lied...*shakes head* But I LOVED Reid when he went to check on Elle. *squeezes Reid in half* It was so sweet and it shows he's warming up to them (if Elle had been shot at the beinging of season 1 I don't thnk he would have been 'smart' enough to so or he would have been akward at it if he had). Elle's been really mean this season >.> Or to me atleast. Does anyone else think the writers wrote her annoying/mean to make us less saddened by her leave?

J.J.Rocks - October 19, 2006 12:21 PM (GMT)
I loved it, I'm glad they had JJ show more emotion!!

I was disappointed with the turn of events concerning Elle's situation.

She was shot several months ago and is now displaying signs of PTSD. All of a sudden, she's drinking, she's emotionally unstable and having flashbacks to the shooting? Hello? Where have I been the last few episodes? Except for the hideous haircut there were no signs of distress from Elle.

Her field readiness would have been evaluated by a board of agents who specialize in officer involved shootings. Agents have been known to ride a desk for up to a year to avoid this type of meltdown.

Why is it that only Reid was aware that something was wrong? Gideon suffered through the same thing after Boston. Why wasn't he aware of the signs?

This situation was clearly a last minute rabbit out of the hat trick to play forward on the producer's agenda.

Ugh.

BTW, I happen to like Reid's glasses a great deal *g*. The white buck shoes are a nice touch too

She won't just get suspended. Besides the fact that we've known for a while that she IS leaving, she staged that he pulled his gun out on her and appears to get caught. Hotch, in the previews of next week's episode, says something along the lines of "Only you know what really happened" because she was confessing her sins in a cemetery or somewhere like that.

Spoiler...

i just have a question about elle...does this mean that she won't be in the next episode?...and i also liked that Daytona police officer...i wouldn't have minded if she was the one taking over elle's position, but she's still a little bit stiff...i really liked the interation between elle and reid and elle and morgan...and i cracked up when morgan made that call to garcia (who they needed to show more of) and the girls were staring at him...haha...work call...AND...i like JJ's emotion with that college girl...at times JJ seems to be a little bit emotionless...so it was good to see her with the girl...

I really liked this episode. I liked Elle and hate to see her go but I do like the way they are getting rid of her. I loved the scenes of them in their hotel rooms. It was interesting to see how they deal with a case when they are alone. I also loved it when Elle blamed Hotch for her being shot. I thought the show was perfect other than the wacko detective they were dealing with and the lack of any real Garcia scenes, although the phone call with her and Morgan was a hoot. :)

I have to say I wasn't surprised when Elle flipped out and stormed the guy in his car. Sure, it was premature to put her back out in the field, but people can be very persuasive when they want something. I would imagine that she would definately be put on probation, pending full investigation of her actions in the case and a (better) psych workup. I was surprised, though, when I saw the teaser for next week, when she takes off. Doesn't seem like Elle to me. She, as far as I can tell, is the kind of person that would stand with their decisions and damn what everyone else thinks. Or it could be the suggested PTSD. I liked her character so much better last season. Like what mkp2008 said, she's been really mean this season in general. And it does seem like a last minute plot bunny, Sonia2363. Guess it makes more sense than having her get shot...again.
So...anyone know why they're getting rid of the Elle character? Is the actress just not working out? Does she want to be available for other projects? Or is it something else? Ideas anyone?

i actually learned pretty early (mid season 1) that lola glaudini was gonna leave the show...its most likely because she wanted to be available for other projects because in most interviews, she says that she loves the cast and crew and everything so...

cmaddict2 - October 21, 2006 07:15 PM (GMT)
How did you know Lola was leaving? Now there's a rumor, just a rumor, mentioned on another forum that she may be pregnant and they couldn't write it in.

beaglebabes - October 21, 2006 07:40 PM (GMT)
I read somewhere and I cannot remember where that she was interviewed and mentioned she was trying to start a family.

It would make sense since FK 11 and P911 don't really flow too well time or storyline wise. Casting for FK 11 didn't start until late July, if I remember correctly, and FK 11 could not have been filmed right after FK 1. The storylines between FK 11 and P911 were so sloppy and off with Elle's demeanor. The "attitude?" of FK 11 showed Elle strong in choosing to live, and positive little talks she had with her father. P911 showed a different side of Elle. If Lola got pregnant during the summer, the storyline would have at that point been easy to alter to write her off while shooting the first eps since FK 11 left her up in the air with the backlash of her shooting. Maybe that explains the weird storyline with Elle and the incongruent team dynamics. This is just not the same Elle even remotely, life-threatening experience or not, as last season. And the team from last season wouldn't have let her down like they have this season. They've totally ruined her character and left the team disjointed. And she wouldn't be showing while filming these first eps.
And, I agree, the phone call with Morgan and Garcia was priceless!! Also kudos to Reid for trying to understand Elle. He was way off, but he tried!

BlueComb78 - October 21, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that was really sweet of Reid. He's becoming more comfortable around the team, so it seems. Yeah, he was kinda off, but at least he tried. And that's more then he would have done in the past.

i also heard she was pregnant, but im thinking that its just a rumor...i really don't remember where i heard that she was leaving...i think i read it in a magazine and sorta brushed it off as a rumor, but then i went on a different forum and they were saying that lola was leaving the show so...i kinda just went along with that...

I know... I'm a little late in commenting... who cares? that's why reruns are for! :P

First off, Elle had a soft spot for sex offenders. She had a specialty on that and it can be seen quite easily how she can be ticked off by them (remember how she reacted in Unfinished Business, where the guy they arrested said "are you finished?" after Elle gave a piece of the profile; "what? are you afraid of me? Will you hurt me? No, you 're not going to hurt me now, you 'll wait until I turn my back and hit me on the head...."etc ). She really hates them.
After "The Fisher King", she seems to be a ticking bomb because what the unsub did was a clear violation of her body, it might not have been sexual, but it was still a violation. That's why she seemed mean during the 2nd season. And she started probably drinking right after that, but it was shown to us later. (In P911 you can see how Morgan was ticked off by the pedophile principal as a clue for "Profiler, Profiled").

And btw, Reid tried but am I the only one that thought and felt that the scene was incomplete? Elle wanted to tell Reid that she may have won and being alive but how come she still feels the violation all over again?! Her look "screams" it, how could Reid not have picked up on that? (Not to mention the violation of her home that she mentioned at Hotch).

I was pissed with the way Gideon handled her. She had a meltdown ("last time you sent me home Hotch, it got me shot!" -wonderfully said!) and he goes telling her "watch your job"?! What was he thinking? Elle probably thought "to hell with my job! My life is totally scr*wd up and these women's too and you 're talking about my job?!".

And one more thing I noticed recently, Elle kept her gun clipped on her belt during the 1st season but during the 2nd she has 2 guns and moves the holster under her arms. Seems like she can't feel safe enough, doesn't it?

phewww, I really had to take it out of my system... I 've been thinking of these since I first watched the episode a few months back and I really had to let it out.

I apologise for bringing up such an old topic... :(
