:ph43r: *spoiler Ninja* :ph43r:
OMG!!! Totally the reason I watch this show!!! Kept me glued from start to end. I didn't think Elle was going to die but i'm glad she didn't regardless. I now love Reid even more!!! >.> Gideon scared me at first with his whole "Elle will understand" speech. But then I realized he was trying to give himself reason for what happened. All in all 10/10!!! :D
Kyle - September 21, 2006 02:12 AM (GMT)
yup same here!!
and yeah, when gideon said that, i was like "what on earth?" loll... but yah i was soo sad how hotchner was all rude to garcia!! thankfully tho it all worked out well. :)
cookie.crumbs - September 21, 2006 02:18 AM (GMT)
Yea, Gideon's self-rationalization gave me a semi-heart attack too... but it sounded.. SO REAL to me... it's like... he really did plan to use her a a trap.... ahhh...
maybe that's why Elle leaves later in the season?? She IS leaving after 6 eps... that she found out later that they used her a bait???
AHHHH.... love this... now i'm gonna wait for the west coast showing to watch it again!

Elle's leaving ??? O.o
(sorry off topic bit)
Do you think there will be any follow up on Rebecca???
Kyle - September 21, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
lol it's ok!!
well, i doubt it.. like idk.. i don't see them going back to rebecca.. it's one of those shows that moves on from case to case. :P
anyways, yes, there have been rumors of elle leaving..

SPOILER!!! (Still not used to getting the chance to use the term)
Actually, I was thinking of Gideon's reflection as one of justification on one hand and on the other, trying to relive Hotch of his guilt for sending Elle home in the first place (Not being clear to the agent that took her home... Idiot left, which of course we knew)...
A Dead Like Me reference (of at least another one)... Elle as "Peanut"... I always get nervous when they bring 'dead' characters into a show... They did it in Numb3rs and I was totally like ahhh!!! But I found this a bit different.
While Reid may never have the chance to really see his mum per se, he played into her fantasy long enough to make an odd connection (Funny that she appeared lucid long enough to help the team... Then just as suddenly in her mind back to her teaching days... I thought Reid's reaction was sweet in many ways...
MY SONG AT THE END!!! :D So fit with closing the episode... You really get an amazing sense of 'family'... and the final scene (you'll never wash blood off a white wall... Perhaps with Oxyclean, I don't know... It was on there pretty darn good!) with Hotch is incredibly touching... Considering the fact that I've recently been accused of never letting my mind shut off, I admit that this was a really good episode and that for once I wasn't disappointed... So to those who haven't seen it, you'll like it :D
But I forget that I’m no critique and I’m sure they can’t wait to post all of their little opinions... As if the true viewers will be swayed…

SPOILER:
unfortunately, it's pretty much confirmed that Elle(Lola) is leaving on the 6th episode of the season...Which really makes me mad! And there will be a new female (same age as Elle) coming in...Portia de Rossi is apparently the producers' first choice for this female replacement...
here is her info:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005577/On another note, about the episode, I LOVED Morgan's reaction to finding out about Elle. I honestly feel that his reaction was the strongest out of the team. JJ, Garcia, and Reid didn't really show any emotions about Elle getting shot. Morgan, on the other hand, was ready to forget about the case all together and just go back and see how Elle is doing. He wanted to be there for her...Gideon and Hotch definitely showed more of remorse for the choice for Elle to go back to her place when it wasn't safe at all...it was more of guilt, I think...
It's just too bad that at the end they didn't show Morgan going to visit Elle. It would have made more sense than Gideon only because Morgan expressed so much concern and was the most emotional about it...
But I guess they're setting up more Morgan/Garcia...since Elle would be leaving soon...unfortunately...
oh well, there goes my dream of Morgan/Elle hooking up romantically....
huuudaaa - September 21, 2006 07:15 AM (GMT)
ok. ok. i must NOT read.. must NOT read. i only read the kyle's first post. alot of reid! alot of reid! yay yay! elle survived, er, yay!
REID!
:D
sweetpea - September 21, 2006 03:34 PM (GMT)
LOOOOVED that episode, really. Ried's my favorite and I love it when we see so much of him - and yeah, Morgan's reaction to finding out about Elle was *priceless*. I felt so bad.
And even if the kid has been in trouble before, has run away before - does that mean you don't look for them anymore? I kind of wanted to kick that detective guy.
BUT, most importantly - Does ANYONE know the quote Ried said at the end of the show? It was about time doesn't heal all wounds, that our brains - in order to retain their sanity - cover them up with scar tissue? Something like that.....I *think* he said it was by Rose Kennedy, but....I'm not sure. I've been searching for it online, but can't find it. I suppose, being last night's episode, it's a tad early for that sort of thing.
Pheebs - September 21, 2006 03:39 PM (GMT)
Hey ¡¡ I have a questin because I don't watch it ... Where did the Unsub shot Elle ? In the photos , here -->
http://www.iad-ordnonstop.net/201pics/CM_2x01-261.html I see too much blood xD And I can't see where is the shot ...

CAUTION SPOILER
Hats off to the writers again. They managed to resolve the details and restore the element of humanity that seems to be lacking in so many crime dramas without becoming maudlin.
The closing scence of Hotch trying to clean the "bloody rules" off the wall was wonderful. It made me remember why I got hooked on CM in the first place ( intelligent storylines presented in a complex, layered yet seamless manner .)
Here's a riddle for you- humans.
devoted99 - September 21, 2006 08:38 PM (GMT)
I LOVED IT!!!! REID WAS AWESOME!!! and I think everyone must feel a little guilty cuz of Elle...
SPOILER?
Morgan took her to Jamaica where the whole mess started, Gideon told JJ to have a press conference... JJ had it... Hotch sent her home... they all kinda played a part
BUT THE ENTIRE EPISODE WAS AMAZING! WE EVEN GOT TO LEARN ABOUT REID'S MOM!! AND ELLE IS ALIVE!! I was kinda worried she was going to get killed off...
Mrs_Reid - September 21, 2006 11:12 PM (GMT)
I gotta agree with you guys. Mogan showed way more emotion than anyone when he found what happened to Elle. It was touching...
I did expect her to die (i know sounds mean)
So Reid is scared of being schizo...(sp?) i wonder if we'll have some Reid going crazy eppys...
mkp2008 - September 22, 2006 01:47 AM (GMT)
>.> Maybe...that would be sad if we did... *cries*
:ph43r: *Spoiler Ninja* :ph43r:
That was so sweet though when he called and demanded his mom be brought out into safe keeping. *hugs Reid* I though it was funny to how scarface (sorry, bad joke but can't remember his name >.<) refered to Reid as Percival...though I would have thought he'd called him Gallahad (the 'pure' knight).
frog786 - September 22, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
*spoiler*
I thought it was awesome how Reid's mom got upset because he made her fly, which was like the one thing she feared most. I thought it very interesting that it appeared that (maybe other than Hotch) noone knew that Reid's mother was in a mental hospital. I liked the end too where she asks if he had read the books and he said he had them read to him... it was so cute-- I just wanted to call a group hug then and there!
I'm happy Elles ok... I think if she does leave after the 6th show... that.. maybe it won't be permanent (maybe in a year or so.. she'll come back (kind of like Dr. Carter in ER)... just to give the character time to recoup). I really thought Morgan was awesome wanting to go straight back... maybe he does have feelings for her :P
It was super super cool how people figured out the book- I cheered when they showed the cover.. lol
ac5000 - September 22, 2006 03:39 AM (GMT)
yeah...this episode was great...i was a little bit disappointed at the opening credits though...i know its nothing big, but whenever a new season starts, I ALWAYS looks forward to the new opening credits...and it was the same old ones as always... <_<
i kept thinking to myself that perhaps JJ would get some more screen time but apparently not...i dont think that JJ and Morgan should be in a lot of scenes together because i dont think that they have very good chemistry together...it was kinda hollow...i was just wondering how JJ didn't fling out of the car when Morgan made that crazy turn...
i felt SO bad fr garcia when hotch gave her that dirty comment...i just wanted to tell Hotch off...he was being mean...and when Gideon was questioning what he did...wow...i was stunned for about 10 seconds...
i'll admit that i will miss elle if and when she leaves...even if i wasnt her biggest fan, i dont want her too leave and i especially dont want her to be replaced...but i had heard a rumor that lola was leaving... :(
all in all that episode was pretty darn good...i was totally expecting them to find the unsub in a different way...and the ending with the bombs...i think ive seen that sort of an ending in a different crime show too...i just cant put my finger on it....
Kyle - September 22, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
yeah, the episode was great.
anyways, to answer a previous question.. tha'ts a good question. on the finale i heard two shots, so i'm assuming that either she was shot in two places, or she tried to shoot. i know it wasn't the face or anything, and i doubt she would technically survive if it were the heart, so i'm guessing the stomach or something.
and yeah, J.J. has SO much potential, if they would just show her more. :)
ac5000 - September 23, 2006 02:11 AM (GMT)
yeah...JJ does have A LOT of potential to be probably the most interesting character on that show...anyone notice that she calls almost everyone by their first names?...no...ok...
i thought elle got shot in the arm...stomach might be a little low...because the unsub was looking down at her...and the table was covering her stomach...
mkp2008 - September 23, 2006 05:04 AM (GMT)
I think it was the chest...like breast bone or something from all the blood we saw.
Pheebs - September 23, 2006 08:00 AM (GMT)
Yes ¡¡¡ Finally I can see the episode ¡¡¡¡ WeEeEeEeE :D
AMAZING ¡¡¡ AWESOME ¡¡ I really like this new season ¡¡¡¡
Im looking forward to see the second episode ¡¡¡
luvmorgan - September 23, 2006 09:42 AM (GMT)
I agree that Morgan showed the most reaction to the news that Elle got shot. Elle is his buddy, so naturally he wanted to go kick some real butt.
It would have been nice to have shown him at the hospital, but I think there will be plenty of time for Elle and Morgan to interact before she leaves the show. I think it will be interesting to see how Elle interacts with everyone on the team while she's recovering.
Mila - September 27, 2006 10:41 AM (GMT)
Did someone have the long version of the teaser? :(

Hi,
For the quote it's :
"It has been said that time heals all wounds. I do not agree.
The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with
scar tissue, and the pain lessens, but it is never gone." Rose Kennedy.

okay, since I missed the rerun, what's the book that the cryptic letter was referring to? I know it's not Morte d'Arthur, though that was what I guessed the first time.
And I loved the episode, it really gave us the chance to see inside the heads of the team, most of the time they're so immersed int heir work it's hard to see the real them.
I love this show! - December 30, 2006 11:03 PM (GMT)
The book was "The collector" by John Fowles. Reid figured out the book had to be by a british author (clue from the butterfly) published in 1963 (clue from the baseball card) The poem from the musicbox was "the parliment of Fowls" by Chaucer which led him to the author Fowles.
