Title: Elle leaving after show #6
CriminalReid - September 17, 2006 04:42 PM (GMT)
caution: possible spoiler****
Tv guide says that Lola is leaving after the sixth show of the season??!?
I noticed (I think) the 6th show of the season is titled 'The Aftermath' I wonder if Elle is having ahrad time dealing with the shooting and decides to leave the BAU. I also remember I think it was Unfinished Business where Elle was discussing with Hotch her confusion over having a life and still being in the BAU.
Kyle - September 17, 2006 07:45 PM (GMT)
omg are you serious????
:( :( :( :( I LOVE elle!! how sad!!
well, we will have to wait until episode 6 i guess :(
carolinablue - September 18, 2006 08:16 PM (GMT)
 WOW! That is unfortunate.
I love Garcia and JJ is growing on me but losing the only female agent who is "in the field" is going to hurt.
I wonder if they will try to replace her character?
Kyle - September 18, 2006 11:01 PM (GMT)
i'm sure they will. :) let's just hope so.
Glampire28 - September 19, 2006 01:40 AM (GMT)
She is really good, I hope she doesn't leave
J.J. - September 19, 2006 03:17 AM (GMT)
Anyone wonder if it’s all hype? (Or is it just me?)
Is it possible that they are merely testing the waters to see what the masses think? IMDB hasn't listed her in anything 'new' per se, completed projects (I haven't had time to peruse any of her official or fan based sites to see if there are other projects, which, of course they may be, in which case it is possible that the contract is being broken, however, my understanding of television and contracts is limited and from what I've heard, while they aren't iron clad, they are pretty interesting)...
In any case, it will be interesting to see what comes of this mini-drama...
cmaddict2 - September 19, 2006 03:30 AM (GMT)
It could all be hype--I hope it is!! Bernero sounded pretty specific about the details of what he wants to do with the show in TV Guide, though. But that excuse for Elle leaving just doesn't sound quite right.... I'm hoping that if she leaves after ep 6 it's only a temporary time while Lola works on something else and then they'll bring her back after Elle's had some time off.
The more I think about it, the more I don't buy that she was to afraid to cut it out on the streets. What would she do? Go back to Seattle when she couldn't cut it in the BAU? THAT would be awkward...
CriminalReid - September 19, 2006 03:36 AM (GMT)
I too hope it is hype, as I like the cast the way it is. Please don't think I am simply starting rumors, I was just reporting an article that I saw on tv guide.
Kyle - September 19, 2006 03:52 AM (GMT)
lol it's cool.. that's what this section is for. :) rumors and gossip!!!
anyways but i hope it's a hype.. they seem to do that a lot.. so let's hope.
one thing that bugs me about the ppl being pregnant on ALL shows is that almost ALL of them have miscarriages. and i just had to say that because it really gets me mad. ER, desperate housewives, and if i had a list of shows i could name soo many other ones. anyways i just had to put that :-p
but back on topic.. that would be soo sad if elle already left early.. like teh show is just now getting off its feet. they should wait a while at east.
i think of she leaves either J.J. will be played a lot more or they will have someone to replace.. so let's just wait and see. :) i don't see bernero cautting off ppl tho.. he was VERY strict about letting ppl go on third watch.. in fact most ppl who left third watch were actually the characters who left and not bernero telling them he didn't need them anymore. even then, all the main ppl were there all seasons.. so we will have to see. :-/

oh no...Lola is one of my favorites! I hope it's all a big rumour...but I guess it can explain why she is not listed in the official promotion pic and cast list for season two! I just don't get why Lola would leave...she said that she loved working on the show...and why would she get fired? I mean she is the main female lead...
Can someone please post the tv guide article? I really want to read it...

More Gossip: I got this from criminalxminds, apparently they are planning on introducing a new character:
SPOILER!:
Corrected spoiler info
From a source who has a subscription to showfax.com...
The tentative name of the character is Emily Prentiss. The audition side has a description of the character. This is a summary: (parts in the quote boxes are direct from the sides):
CHARACTER NOTE: EMILY PRENTISS is in her thirties and a no-nonsense lady. Daughter of a pair of high-powered diplomats, she grew up abroad, around the lofty heights of government service. Not intimidated by dinner with presidents or heads of state, her parents instilled in her a sense of civic duty, an understanding of giving back.
But she is far from prim. She is equally at home with a hot dog and a beer cheering on her beloved Washington Redskins from the family's season tickets.
In college (degree in pyschology), she saw Silence of the Lambs and decided to become an FBI agent. "[A]ced" the academy ("like she does everything"). Became a field agent, did a bit of everything, but all she really wanted was to be a profiler. She can kick a suspect's ass as easily as she can talk him into jail, and she doesn't really care which way you choose.
She kept applying to the BAU, but was turned down every time. Why -- because of her parents, "no one really trusts you," because they think she had help in getting where she is.
Neither Hotch nor Gideon approved the transfer, and her transfer is a complete surprise.
The test scene is just her and Hotch. Not too much extra to glean from the actual dialogue, but Hotch apparently worked security detail for Emily's mother when he first started in the FBI. That was when Emily started college. Emily says that she's been in the FBI for almost ten years. In the scene, after Hotch says "Look, I appreciate your interest but, profiling is a specialty..." Emily gives a profile for a case that Hotch has on his desk. The scene comments note that Hotch is "impressed."
-----------------------
The description doesn't match the "older agent" spoiler in TV Guide. Sounds like something changed probably due to the "we need younger viewers, so lets bring in a younger series regular" way of thinking. All this could change, but it's what we know so far.
I think she sounds horrible. Maybe instead of Madame Director we're getting Ziva??? (And am I mistaken or are they messing with Hotch's backstory, too? Wasn't he an attorney with the FBI at first? Now he was security detail? Have I mentioned lately that I really hate the writers?)[I]
Gah! If that is true, they just as well should name her Mary Sue - the description certainly fits!
:( songfire
cmaddict2 - September 20, 2006 12:51 AM (GMT)
No, this doesn't sound like a positive change..... Still hoping that Elle just takes mandatory time off for a while and they bring her back later. Otherwise, CM may do a slippery, slow sliiiiide down to 2nd or 3rd favorite.....
But for now I'll have faith in the writers and enjoy FK 2 tomorrow night, and the rest of NCIS tonight
luvmorgan - September 20, 2006 11:26 PM (GMT)
Oh no, I hope this is just a rumor! Elle is definitely one of my favorite characters. Plus the whole team will be off kilt if she left. :o
cmaddict2 - September 21, 2006 12:57 AM (GMT)
Apparantly that's what Mr. Bernero wants.
mkp2008 - September 21, 2006 02:40 AM (GMT)
NO!!!! A diplomat??? The way they describe the character it sounds just like J.J. to me...if the want to do that, why don't they just move J.J. onto the team as an actaul 'member' not just a news corrispondent (that's what she seems like most of the time...poor girl).
greenleo - September 21, 2006 05:35 AM (GMT)
Looks like it's really true...
This is taken from Ask Ausiello's chat today:
Question: Got any spoilers for Season 2 of Criminal Minds? Is Lola Glaudini leaving the show? In the TV Guide magazine, exec producer Ed Bernero said Elle would only be in the first six eps and that they're casting a new character who's a contemporary of Gideon's.— Stacy
Ausiello: Yes, she's leaving, and yes, they're bringing on a new kickass female detective. The producers' first choice starred in one of our favorite sitcoms of all time. She also dates Ellen DeGeneres. Any guesses?
just great! what the heck??? I don't know...CM won't be that enjoyable to me anymore without Elle. I think I'll still watch...but it will be very different. I don't know if I'll be a regular watcher...I really want to know if it was Lola's choice to leave. If it was, then I'm okay with it...But if she got fired, that really is terrible! I cannot imagine Portia de Rossi playing the role of a detective...
By the way, she is about the same age as Lola, here is her info:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005577/So it looks like they basically want to get a Lola replacement...which means that there was probably some issues between Lola and the producers...cuz if it was a "creative" reason to let Lola go, then why bring a character VERY similar to Elle...
I hope they at least get some other actress...Nothing against Portia, it is just that she is not one of my favorite choices...Then again, they should just keep Lola!

carolinablue - September 21, 2006 08:26 PM (GMT)
:( Yuck- that character description does not appeal. It sounds like something out of a cheap novel you lose on the beach and good riddance. OMG- as a "woman of a certain age" I hope they don't hire some younger actress and expect us to accept her as a contemporary of Gideon's. Maybe next they can get him a hairpiece and have him start dressing like he raided his son's closet.
And Songfire was correct- Hotch's background was as an attorney and then District Attorney. Let's hope "it ain't so"
cmaddict2 - September 21, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
I agree with you, Greenleo. If only I knew that Lola wanted off of the show and that she wasn't fired. Then I wouldn't have to blame the writers for saving Elle for us and then axing her after ep 6.
FK 2 was a well-written episode that kept me on the edge of my seat and tied up all of the loose ends left by FK 1. But really, if they were intending to take Elle off of the show, they should have killed her off instead of taking the rest of the group through this major, apparantly life-changing event in Elle's life. Why do we need to watch the group get even closer when Elle's character is cut from the show a few episodes later?
I just hope the producers don't really hurt this show with the cast change. I will have faith...I will have faith...I will have faith.
Kyle - September 22, 2006 10:08 PM (GMT)
Portia de Rossi.. she's an australian right? ohh, there wil lbe an accent on the show i'm guessing!! loll
anyways, but i'm going to miss elle.. she was like the best.. any time i thought of the show, i thought of elle and gideon and reid and yeah.. i hope this doesn't make the show die or anything.
Pheebs - September 23, 2006 08:05 AM (GMT)
And If Lola , only appear in the 6 episodes , leave and then come back for other episodes ????
Maybe she have to do a film and with the CM it's too tired ...
I don't know ... It will be seen ... :(
Thanks to god , that Elle is in the 6 first epis ... <_<

Who knows, maybe it'll get even better? I'm not a Portia fan though so we'll see. Hopefully she'll have a good character but it'll be majorly wierd. I hope we see more J.J. now...

On one of my favorite shows Numb3rs. The main female actress left the show 2 epiosdes from the end of the first season. The show is stil going strong & is better than ever. So I don't see a problem in her leaving, except for the fact that we've grown to love her & will miss her when seh'd gone.
Kyle - October 3, 2006 04:48 AM (GMT)
yeah, i hate it when ppl leave the show!! uh, so sad!! especially when they kill them off.
Sonia2363 - October 3, 2006 08:45 PM (GMT)
;) Actually, Elle and JJ are the most underdeveloped characters on the show. Not that I'm glad to see her go but, frankly, it won't be a big loss for me.
Portia DeRossi turned down the part of the new agent so it's back to the drawing board. Even though I don't want some pretty young thing with large hooters on the team, I think they could use the tension of a disagreeable person once in a while. Like a previous post mentioned Numb3rs actually improved with the addition of a new character, let's see what happens here.
kels - October 5, 2006 09:44 PM (GMT)
According to the Criminal Minds Yahoo! group, the new replacement for Lola is Paget Brewster.
Rach112 - October 8, 2006 04:26 PM (GMT)
Never heard of her but I can't say I'm not happy that Portia won't be joining the show :P
ac5000 - October 8, 2006 06:42 PM (GMT)
i hated replacement actresses...i never seem to be able to accept them as part of the team... <_<

i have to hope that the addition will be good...as much as i disliked elle...its sad to see her go :( ...hopefullly the replacement wont be like elle, otherwise it will seem like they're taking her place...and yeah...perhaps they shouldn't bring in someone TOO good looking as the BAU team already has enough eye-candy :D
Kell7998 - October 22, 2006 02:31 AM (GMT)
This happened to me on Lost, and now Criminal minds :( Elle is my favorite, without her the show would be different
huuudaaa - October 26, 2006 01:41 PM (GMT)
lost? lost?? what happened in lost? who left lost??? 0_0!!
so is elle gone, yet? lol
i'm not keeping track of the new season. bad.

O they killed Libby off :(
Now they take Elle off, but I guesse she wanted to go
Kell7998 - October 29, 2006 01:10 AM (GMT)
On some forum on like TV.com, I heard that Lola was staying for 9 episodes. But when I checked the next episode, she was not listed  and she was the only difference, no one else new, or gone. So I wounder what is gonna happen?
Mae - October 29, 2006 01:49 AM (GMT)
I think someone on the tv.com forum got it wrong. It's been pretty consistantly mentioned as being 6 episodes everywhere else.
I also think there must be a several episode break between Elle and new!girl, since there hasn't been any episode spoilers with her yet. I have heard that she might come in around episode 9 or 10, but I don't remember where I heard that, and it was just speculation based on casting spoilers.
Kell7998 - October 29, 2006 01:53 AM (GMT)
I just dont think it will feel right with someone other then Lola :(
beaglebabes - October 29, 2006 02:28 AM (GMT)
It is going to be interesting to see how the BAU unit changes with the addition of Paget Brewster's new character. I loved Lola and hope she will be very successful in whatever she does next. :)

Me 2, I have really grown to love her, lola, and I am def. going to keep watching her in what she does next! I can say, she was born to play a detective.
ac5000 - October 29, 2006 06:45 AM (GMT)
it definetly wont be the same without a kick-as* female, but i wasn't the hugest fan of hers...
anyone else think she kinda looks like Karina Smirnoff from Dancing With The Stars?
