I was just looking at the page on Wikipedia (very nice section btw, and we even are linked to) and it said in the trivia section:

It is rumoured that JJ has a teenage daughter called Vanessa.

Where is this rumured and what do you think?

I think she's a bit young for a teenage daughter. She can't be more than twenty-six. I could imagine her looking after a younger sister maybe, but otherwise I doubt it.

Even that's a bit suspicious because she a) succeeded well enough in her education to become a liason for a top profiling team (I think it might have taken longer if she had full responibilty for a child), and B) she seems perfectly willing to fly all over the country at a moment's notice.

I read that too and I have to agree JJ is too young to have a teenage daughter. JJ looks younger than me so I doubt she is any older than 30.
Maybe someone on this forum can answer this question as I'm dying to know where that piece of information originated from.

Yeah, I remember reading that and thinking it was a little odd.....unless she had a baby really young and leaves it with family/a nanny, I doubt that's true.

Speaking of wikipedia, is Elle's first name really Noelle? And I think Hotch has a son instead of the baby daughter they say he has, so I'm wondering where they actually get their info from........

Don't know about Elle's name being Noelle but Hotch definately had a son. The only reference to any name was in the first episode (Extreme Aggressor) when Haley (still pregnant) was keen to call their son Gideon but Hotch wasn't. But in subsequent episodes the baby's name was never mentioned again although their baby is in 3 subsequent episodes that I saw so we are left wondering if they actually did call their son Gideon. You would have thought that if they had there would have been a small scene between Hotch and Gideon making a reference to this. Hopefully season 2 will give us some of the answers to each of the characters lives that we have had a glimpse of so far.

I really like the name Noelle for Elle. Does this mean she was a Christmas baby?

well, she seems sort of young to have a kid. then again tho, looks aren't everything.. i have a great aunt who is in her 50's, and she looks like she's maybe 28.. seriously loll..

anyways, but JJ looks really young.. so i think the rumor is false.. i don't think JJ has a kid.. unles she was a teenage mother.. but i don't see it!!

yeah...JJ loooks WAAAAY too young...and if we compare to the actress who's 28, a teenage daughter would be much too old..and she looks too innocent (call me stereotypical) to be a teenage mother...(no offense to anyone...)

as for the elle thing... there was an episode where some guy asked her if she liked her name...(The Popular Kids...i think) and elle said that she had had it her whole life...

Yeah and it does say in the most of the character descriptions about J.J. that she's a confident, young agent.Myabe someone just thought the teen daughter rumuor would be fun... I'm not sure if she's that innocent though ;)

I don't know if Elle was a Christmas baby, maybe we'll find out next season or something :) I like Elle better than Noelle definitely!

And I would like to know the name of Hotch's son too, they could even have just dropped it casually into coversation or something.....

well...she may not be innocent INSIDE...but she sure LOOKS innocent...don't you think?..

we don't know a lot about the characters so these 'rumors' may turn out to be true for all we know...

Yea, I dnt no, it would be a random twist no one saw coming if she did have a kid, but I really dont see that happaning, I mean, JJ's to nice to just give up a kid and never have another mention of her child surely? I mean if it was something major, that she had to give up the child, fine, but, no, to random for me to swallow.

well...even if she did have a child AND she gave it up, wouldn't it be in her files?...i mean...im just an instructor and they have stuff like that in my files...and she's working for the FBI

She could have lied....or maybe they just haven't mentioned it yet in the show...somehow J.J. doesn't seem like mother material to me....I guess if she did have a baby and gave it up, there's a chance it wouldn't be in her files. I mean they didn't know Elle spoke spanish and I would have thought that would have been in her file... I don't think they'd mention J.J. having a teen daughter though if she'd gave her away. What would be the point?

yeah...thats true, but if JJ did give up her baby either for adoption or abortion it would be in the hospital files (unless she had it erased) or the adoption agency files...and wouldnt they check for all this before hiring her?...they did huge background checks on all the instructors on the mountain and EVERYTHING about us is in those files (i dont know why they had to do all that but whatever...)

unless they just didnt see the need to mention it, or maybe the child comes to find her, that would be quite a big staoryline, considering they half tried to hook Reid and JJ up, maybe thats why its all so secret?

Didn't the episode the other day where the teenage girls had to kill one of their own end up talking about JJ's life...she was a high school athlete that wanted OUT of her small town and soccer was the only way. Don't you think they would have touched on "And since I had a baby.." or something?

Hotch's sons name is Jack. I think he has said it a few times recently but I checked with TV.com to make sure I was correct.

What is up with Wikipedia anyway. If you do an extensive search on Matthew Gray Gubler it shoots back some info that says, "Matthew recently traveled to Australia to propose to his long time girlfriend..." but then when you click on the link it doesn't say that anywhere?

Anyone can update that site with whatever info they want. It is not always reliable. A better source for info on Gubler would be his myspace or his personal blog. Hope that helps. :)

Okay - I haven't seen all the season one episodes so maybe I missed some info in there somewhere.

That doesn't really seem to match up with JJ's character does it? (I'm thinking of North Mammon episode) I thought her character was supposed to be a high-school athlete who was really intent on getting a scholarship so she could go to college and get out of the small town. Didn't she make a comment about the girls in the episode were just like her and she wouldn't have done anything to jeopardize it? I guess it could have happened but it doesn't seem very consistent. I thought her character was supposed to be mid-late 20's

Unless if it is true it'd worked in on a case somehow? I dont know if its mean just reading in on things too much but i definitely think a major incident happened in her past, just by seeing certain clips from certain episodes.

Well, It's pretty clear that all the character have Troubled pasts.

Reid- His child hood
Geidion- being responsible for the deaths of the agents
Morgan- Being molsested as a child
Elle- was rapped (Right? I don't really know much about elle)

We haven't learned much about (unless I missed it) Prentiss, Garcia, Hotch, and JJ but it's almost certain they have some skeleton in the closet.

People keep saying she's too young to have a teenage daughter but lets say she's 30. She could have had a child when she was 16 or 15 and the kid would be 15 or 14. If she's 28 her child could be as old as 13 (if she had it when she was 15).

She could have given it up for adoption so it's all possible.

I'm nto sure it's all true but it's possible.

It was suggested that Hotch or his mum was beaten/abused by his dad. When he talks to a perp he kinda suggests it.

Yes, Hotch implies it at the end of "Natural Born Killer" in the first season, when the killer asks him why he said only some people in abusive families become killers, and Hotch states that others grow up to catch them instead. It implies more that his father beat him than his mom.

The story about a possible JJ's daughter is very similar to the story of Izzy on Grey's Anatomy...will somebody get mixed up? :o

I think it would kind of be an interesting way to go if we found out that JJ had a teenage daughter.

It kind of reminds of an episode that I can't remember what was about but I just remember JJ being upset about a whole bunch of girls being killed, and Hotch stepped in and was all supportive and mentioned something about all the cases going over her desk, and that she see's more than the team does and no one expects her to be together all of the time. (Dos anyone know what I'm talking about?)

Yeah, what if it hit a nerve because she was thinking about her daughter?
