Inspired a very long time ago (actually back in 1999 when I was into Forever Knight... Revised today... It's been a long while and trapped in a notebook)...
I hope this doesn't suck to horribly! And might even inspire others *hint, hint*
For Her
Trinkets that had once belonged to powerful queens,
Dresses made of the finest French silks,
And created by the worlds most famous designers,
Yet still, she appears unhappy.
What can I give her that I haven’t already?
What else is there left in this world,
That could possibly make her happy?
As I am left to wonder if I am the cause of her unhappiness.
Instead on this cold forsaken night, I tenderly take her in my arms,
Whisper softly into her ear,
How much she truly means to me,
And how much I love her still.
Her emerald eyes look deeply and melt my icy blues,
It is then for the first time that I truly understand,
That it was not all that I had given her,
It was all I had left unsaid.
