Ross will not die, and will be game for this episode.

Wow, intresting. But can the team stop Luke Perry before it comes down to that?

Would whichever one of us lives closest to LA mind doing me a favour? Track down Ed Bernero and smack him. I would do it myself, but it's really expensive to fly these days.

Seriously, Reid is on the way to holding the world record for the number of times a person has been kidnapped. It's starting to rival soap opera land, and I don't like it.

Maybe they intend to use this to force him to address the Tobias issues, but I doubt it. If that isn't the intention than I don't see hwo this is a good idea.

More Prentiss screen time is love, though. <3

Rossi's Girl - September 23, 2008 11:54 PM (GMT)
Krissy if I lived in LA, I would it for you LOl!

CriminalReid - September 24, 2008 12:15 AM (GMT)
I like Reid episodes. I wish they would write an episode where I kidnap him too. LOL

CriminalReid - September 24, 2008 12:18 AM (GMT)
Don't worry Ed I'll protect you!!!!!!!!!!

Yes we do too CriminalReid, but not all the time. I mean CM just did a story line where poor Reid was already kidnapped and that was back in Season 2. I think they need to focus another character then Reid right now.

CR, I hope you're not mad at me for saying all that?

I think it was a balanced ep. Reid did got kidanp again but i wouldnt call it a reid ep. I think it was okay. Hotch came to his senses. Not much of JJ and Garcia though. Maybe they're saving JJ for later when she's gg off?

I like the last scene with reid and prentiss. Reid is just super sweet <3

i think S4 is going to be a blast!

sam_1189 - October 9, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
good episode. I loved when Prentiss was worried about Reid and Morgan said he would get him. I knew the girl was going to be stupid and blow the place up, and i absolutely adored the last scene between Reid and Prentiss. i just wish there was more Garcia. Overall good episode and I'm mad we have to wait 2 weeks  . And i too think this season is going to be a blast :D

You're not the only one who thinks that.

I just gotta say: Hail the writers! Hail, hail.
A Waco/Ruby Ridge-like episode was maybe the last thing I ever expected from this series, but once again they surprised me. :D
And this Luke Perry-guy acted very convincing as Cyrus. He even got the typical wifebeater moustache!

Elle_Gr - October 9, 2008 09:13 PM (GMT)
=R=E=S=P=E=C=T= THAT WAS T=H=E episode!!! I mean, it had it all!!!!!

It had me glued to the screen and sometimes I was even shouting (it never happened before with CM, honestly!). I kept shouting, about the girl "tackle the girl, she 'll push the button... NOOOOOOO"... well... you get the picture!

I love intense episodes, but I hate too much blood and showing off gross stuff (corpses, wounds...) but this was the best!

When Prentiss was beaten up, I was so freaked out, like the guys... It should be terrible listening to your friend being beaten up without being able to do something, just sit and listen. Although I think that Emily should look a lot more bruised up after so much beating...

GREAT episode!! The best so far in this season in my opinion. Mayhem follows really really close.
Not much Garcia and JJ though, but we can't really have it all, can we?

And also the scene with Hotch threatening the senator (?). "Get off my crime scene!!" That was my first shout "YOU 'RE THE MAN!!!"!!! :D

Rossi's Girl - October 9, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)
I totally agree with you Elle! This was the best eppie so far! I loved all the elments that were put together. Especially with Hotch getting mad at the sentor or Hotch and Morgan ready to charge towat\rds the mission to free Reid and Ems.

That in my opinion was the best part of the eppie, Morgan and Hotch- ever the hero's, willing to risk their own necks to save their friends. But I'm so glad that Rossi was the voice of reason. They really could've died. But Ems told them she was ok and could handle it.

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME EPPIE! B) :D :music:

Luna - October 9, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
Really Really Really loved it! Loved the intense part, Hotch was great, Rossi was great, Reid was great, Emily was GREAT!!!!!!!! Everyone was!
Really sad about that girl though :(

Yeah, I recognize myself in similar situations sometimes... But it generally have to be something really disturbing though (like some scenes in Bastard Out of Carolina). ;)

Nice signature, by the way.

ooo, i absolutely lovve that part too! Hotch looks hot when he's angry, no? :D

Marsh thanks... I made it yesteday (have a look here if you 're interested: http://z11.invisionfree.com/Criminal_Minds...showtopic=2261). I watched the episode and the image just popped in my mind. I was even thinking of expanding it into a wallpaper but that is going to take time...
I haven't watched the movie you mentioned. I guess that's why people don't like watching movies with me, I'm talking and shouting too much... LOL

huuudaaa, I don't know if you've watched Star Trek Voyager but there is an episode where Q teases captain Janeway and he changes a quote into: "Do you know that you 're angry when you 're beautiful?" ... I guess something like that applies to Hotch too. :D

Luna, short and effective description... :music: :D :D :D

ClarkDLM - October 12, 2008 05:11 AM (GMT)
This was by far the best episode so far in season 4. The whole cast was great but especially Paget and Gubler!! The guest cast was good too. I knew Luke Perry (amazing performance!)was gonna be in this but i had no idea Kathleen Wilhoite from Gilmore Girls was going to be in it. And when i saw Joel Murray it took me back and i couldn't help but smile cause there was a mini reunion for Thomas Gibson. Pete and Greg together again!!
P.S. JJ looked huge!! It's weird how much time passed between episodes in real life. But overall loved it. Now just two weeks till the next newbie episode.
Peace Out B)

Great episode. The season so far is top notch. Loved when Hotch spoke to that guy and chashed him off the scene.

Did I detect ship between Prentiss and Reid at the end? When she held his hands? She also hugged him and not Morgan.

Elle_Gr - October 12, 2008 02:40 PM (GMT)
Well... it could but not really though... we 'll need to see how the writters develop it and if they are going to pick up on it.

It may have come as a natural response, since Emily might have wanted to reassure Reid that she has nothing against him...

Seven, is your avatar from the episode Unimatrix Zero from StarTrek:Voyager?

JJ_16 - October 13, 2008 05:17 AM (GMT)
I absolutely loved this one!! I loved the Hotch/Rossi interaction when he told Rossi to take over the negotiation.....the Prentiss/Reid moment at the end was awewsome...nobody knows Reid like Emily does....she knew that he had to hear that...ever since Distress there has been a tension like that between them....

Was it just me or was Rossi wearing the same clothes as he was in Identity?? and whats with Morgan narrowly escaping explosions???

Heh... It's quite funny and actually a little fascinating how you girls always notice such details.
I haven't even been giving A.J. Cook's pregnancy a single thought.

Apropos of girls... What is it with Criminal Minds and its influx of female fans?

(Don't misunderstand. I have absolutely nothing against cases where girls actually like action-packed and thrilling TV-series.)

Elle_Gr - October 13, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
It has a mainly male cast maybe?...................... :D

That's a reason too, though. You got all the right men types (the classy one - Hotch, the sporty/tough guy - Morgan, the father figure - Rossi/Gideon and the friend/kiddo one - Reid), and all this mix, not only manages to cooperate, but also show how vulnerable emotionally can be too, something we don't get to see very often.

Add to that, a mix of women who can be different but also very effective. For example, in the first season, I considered JJ to be the token stupid blondy that her existence is due to little boys' need to see a ... "certain type of woman" (*ducks to avoid flying objects...*) BUT she has come to prove how usefull her position and her skills are. And they can certainly ALL of them can kick some serious a*s when needed without loosing their femininity or momentarily becoming the b*tch that 's required but not trully be one. Do I make sense here? I hope so...

All in all, we 'd like our men to fall in a category of these mentioned above (you 'll notice that wise*ss and totally insensitve #%*&# categories aren't anywhere... ) and at the same time, we would very very much like to be one of the female characters...

I guess... these would be few of the reasons why women really like Criminal Minds. B)

Marsh - October 14, 2008 06:02 AM (GMT)
Aha... Well explained. :)

ClarkDLM - October 14, 2008 06:22 AM (GMT)
Ok...well i didn't know you could tell my gender from replies. But yes i am a girl and i LOVE this how for the blood, guts, and gore. Plus i can't not watch something with Greg Montgomery, the girl who almost broke up Joey and Chandler, and Y&R alum Shemar.

P.s. How can you not notice a huge PREGNANT belly during a side shot?? Plus she was right next to Shemar. (Not mad about your comment but yes ALL people are observant)
Peace Out B)

Well... It can't be any other explainations except the fact that I get too excited with the plot sometimes and don't notice such details.

(There were two things that made me believe you were a female... Firstly, there's something special about this nice and enthusiastic way you girls express yourself *NO OFFENCE*, and secondly, I was considering the influx of you female fans on this message board. ;) )

none taken! I guess being emotional goes both ways (in sadness and in hapiness)?!

Cool, I never thought of that...  I guess we are supposed to be the "party people"... :P

Btw, I noticed that JJ looked pregnant (and very much so...) but she is not huge... there's been worse! She looks even cuter! :D

Luna - October 14, 2008 10:08 PM (GMT)
One thing about the episode though…if they retreated at the start of the hostage situation, wouldn't everything not have gone much better, with less deaths?

And why do all Reid's hostage takers have some creepy fascination with god?

It's great to see that the people here actually can see the whole context and don't twist everything to something negative. Here in Norway, they would probably do so, and I would suddenly be «that male chauvinist pig».

Yes it is, I am a big Voyager fan. You?

Elle_Gr - October 21, 2008 06:46 PM (GMT)
Seven, yeah! I love TNG, DS9 and Voyager! Although all 3 are very dear to me, I like Voyager slightly more... It'll probably sound cliche, but I adore captain Janeway! Especially when she 's threatening people!!! (Seven looks scary anyway but even more saying: "remove your hand, or I'll remove your arm!" muahaha)

Marsh, it depends on the context. You said it in a heart-felt way so, no big deal. But if you'd said it in order to offend, it would be mean... but well, I always liked being emotional! It spices up things! :D Not to mention that, as the British say, I wear my heart up my sleeves and being an enthusiast and impulsive person I am.... you see how I expess myself!

Luna, even if they had retreated, they'd still had to confiscate the guns and investigate the sexual abuse allegations (there was no mass suicide attempt yet, although the profile of Cyrus determined that he would eventually do it). Not to mention that they had to press charges for the death of the officer. The whole operation was supposed to be about the weapons, they couldn't just leave without them.

The episode was based on the Waco standoff which was a REAL event. I did some research and I found the real thing here: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Report_to_th...as/Introduction
I was really shocked to find out that it was so bloody and... well... so real.

CM Addict - October 21, 2008 09:26 PM (GMT)
Well, I was pleasantly surprised by this episode. It focused more on Emily (whom I love and is just asking for a storyline right now) and less on Reid (who's had too much of the spotlight. I love Reid, but this is an ensemble, y'know?). I loved getting to see how strong and selfless Emily can be. She just took it. And at the end, the way she jumped in there to tell Reid it wasn't his fault before he even had the chance to blame himself (although he probably will anyways) was just so sweet!

It's already been mentioned, but that moment when they all could do nothing but stand there and listen to Emily getting beat up....chilling. And speaking of chilling, Luke Perry scared the crap out of me.

Great ep. Really, really great ep. ;)
