Title: Weather Reports From Members
Karla - June 14, 2008 03:09 PM (GMT)
I'm somewhat new here, and don't know too many of you
yet. But, I've been watching the news about weather
reports, and am wondering how everyone here is doing?
Got an email from a friend in Canada asking me if I was
ok. I live in California, and she kept hearing about the fires
we've been having for the past week.
So, please. Check in here on this thread.

I hope everyone is doing okay... I keep hearing all the reports on the news and hope that all my friends and family are safe....
The weather here in Boston, Ma has been very hot this past week... There were three days of 90 plus heat.... Today it was in the 80's and not too bad.. Tomorrow is going to be cooler in the 70's with rain off and on.
I know at some point we are due for a hurricane but I hope it never happens... I was in school when hurricane Gloria hit and then I was on Cape Cod when Hurricane Bob hit... We lost power for days and had fun having cookouts in the dark.
So I hope you are all safe and will check in here when you can. ^_^

What can I say, our weather is.....British. It was sorta warm yesterday, but hailed in the middle of the day. Warm today, but with a wind......It can't make up it's mind!
I hope everyone in Canada is OK, fires are pretty scary!
x-amber-x - June 18, 2008 06:27 AM (GMT)
Its winter over here and its very cold, but our summers are really hot thought. During January there was a bushfire just a few streets from my house and we acutally had to leave..so yea it was pretty scary
CM Addict - June 23, 2008 03:27 PM (GMT)
Jemma, I love that, the weather is British! But the fires are in California, not Canada hun. ;)
Here the weather has been kinda random. It'll be warm, but we'll get spouts of rain. When I was in the car on the way to work the other day, a ten minute drive tops, it started and stopped raining two or three times! And it came down hard when it did.
Of course I can't be complaining, considering what the people in the Midwestern US are going through with the floods. Do we have any members from that area?
CompleteImperfection - June 23, 2008 04:25 PM (GMT)
Well irish weather is a bit werid...like one minute the sun will be out but the next minute it will be raining. Generally at the moment its dry but slightly cold/windy or raining! My sis is going to boston next monday for 2 months so i'm glad to hear the weather there is hot! she bought a bikini for going over today :P

Well, right now in California, smoke is so bad that they've
issued all of those that have asthma, or other problems need
to stay inside. I am looking out my window right now, and it's a
haze. I was at my great nephew's swim lessons with my
family, and I was barely (just like everyone else there) could
barely keep their eyes open without getting headaches.
Nothing you can do that helps prevent that here.
We still have fires in different county's here. :( And, we've been
in a drout since Spring started.

CompleteImperfection - June 24, 2008 03:29 PM (GMT)
wow, thats like alien to me! i thought irish weather was bad.
Hope the drout and smoke etc. get better soon!
Karla - June 24, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
It's worse. We had a red moon last night. Weird.
 Woke up this morning feeling like I have a
major cold. It's still really bad outside. I was going out
today. But, no. :D Staying home today. My dad
has to stay home again today. The good news is,
though, we have no winds. So, maybe it'd be easier
for the fire fighters a chance to control the fires.

I'm here all week! :P And they are? Oops, my bad! I couldn't have gotten further away really, could I?
It's finally warm and sunny!!! Yaya! Although that means I'm burnt, already, and it's only, like 20oC  And I have a rudolph nose, which is always attractive. But it's sunny, and that's the main thing! :D And warm, although it's way windy, which is sorta odd - That's the Brits for ya! Proof Mother Nature is British! Who else would give ya really strong (warm) winds with hot weather?
Luna - June 25, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
Here the weather is good right now…well right now it's night, so the weather still is good but…dark :P but today it was sunny all day…only problem is that the airconditioning doesn't work where I work (at the cinama's) and we now get angry customers and an overheated staff :P
Karla - June 26, 2008 12:51 AM (GMT)
We're still a bit smokey here. Smelled it all day, even when being
inside. lol I'm all, "man, what's that? Oh yeah." We're just surrounded
by it, and no one here knows how long this will last.
lol I'm already waiting for winter.

Wow Karla where in California are you? I'm in the san fransico area so we're ok as far as smoke here but its been really hot...today it cooled down for the first time in a while....
Karla - June 26, 2008 08:19 PM (GMT)
I'm near Sacramento. It's still bad here. We're not even
supposed to be outdoors if you have health problems.
I went out for a walk this morning anyway.

I'm from cavan...

my leader was getting so impatient because i kept texting people and stuff :P
apparantly the weather is supposed to get better after tomorrow :D
CriminalMind - July 2, 2008 07:57 PM (GMT)
UK is being typical again! Rain, but it was warm  Weird weather! :P
Luna - July 3, 2008 09:56 AM (GMT)
It's been really warm here lately, really nice weather sadly ennough I've been riding I love riding it, but it's my only way of good and cheap transportation…)
Yesterday it started raining…right when I entered a train and it stopped again when I exited the train :D …but in the time in between the heaven seemed to fall upon the world.
Since then it's cloudy, but still warm.
CompleteImperfection - July 3, 2008 01:01 PM (GMT)
It is absolutely lashing rain here. We had rehearsals from 12-2 and at about 12:15 it started pouring rain just as we were doing a full run through. We got to leave at 1 though because of the rain which was cool :D
sunsetskies - July 6, 2008 02:20 PM (GMT)
It's been on/off rain here, I think it's rained all over London as the tennis was back on awhile ago :)
But some friends are doing their final expedition for Duke Of Edinburgh and one of them has texted me saying that it's really raining where they are!!
Karla - July 7, 2008 05:39 PM (GMT)
guys mind sending some of that rain here? We're still having all of
the smoke. We've reached the level of 160 danger limit for those
sensitive and everyone else can also be effected...I was dying
this morning, and just went on a short walk.
HUGS
CM Addict - July 8, 2008 04:41 PM (GMT)
Well, it's really hot here these days. But by no means as bad as it is in California. I'll be sending rain your way, guys.
Karla - July 9, 2008 03:55 AM (GMT)
Thank you for the help :) Just no lightening storms yet ;) That's the
main cause of most of these fires.
The fires have gotten worse. We have over a 1,000 fires
burning through out California. We're bombarded by smoke
from the fires. Instructed to stay indoors for all people. Not just
the sensitives. This week, it's supposed to get worse before it
gets better.

Karla - hope it gets better really soon
Theres a big music festival on this weekend and as usual, its raining for it! I'm quite glad I wasn't allowed go this year! The bands aren't great either!
It was lashing rain when I woke up this morning (11:00) but it has gotten slightly better in the last 2 hours!
Karla - July 14, 2008 12:09 AM (GMT)
:D Smoke or not, I LOVE the rain!! I'm a big winter person.

Well, I can honestly say, it's finally nice out. Has been for a while.
But, this morning (yay!) had to find a sweater. I'm a winter person.
How's everyone else doing? Anyone effected by the strange
weather we've been getting?

Right now in the :uk: it's raining and kinda cold. But it's meant to brighten up, so I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed!
Elle_Gr - October 20, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
In another part of the UK... today was very windy and rather sunny. Although the wind took all the fun out, if you went outside.
Although, it's a little cold now...
Karla - November 3, 2008 03:31 PM (GMT)
well, over the past weekend, we had a really good sized rain. What I
mean by that, is for us here, there was at least an inch of water on the
ground. That's a very good thing. Another good thing, is it didn't
rain on Halloween night. Great for the kids. Right now, it's kind of warm,
but looks like rain may be coming.
