Title: Derailed

This has finally been shown. I personally loved it - CM has delivered another fast-paced, dramatic, and intense episode with good characterisation, exciting guest characters, and an interesting plot.
Reid was just darling (as usual) and he seemed to really be taking over Gideon's role in this episode. He even got his own "So and so once said...[insert relative quote]" moment.
Elle got a lot more to do in this episode. It was nice to see the team split up - although it has to be said that Reid and Elle seemed to be the only two with anything to really do.
Random Comments:
It's the chicken/egg scenario - did they write an episode with slight of hand so MGG had to learn it, or could he do slight of hand so they decided to use it?
I'm no expert of American accents, but did it seem to me that none of the people from Texas had accents?
Slightly shippy moment between Elle/Reid, hurrah! Obviously Morgan/Garcia didn't have time but a least she made an effort.
It seemed a bit contrived them not knowing Elle was on the train until Gideon told them. We knew that she was, there was nothing to gain from them not knowing, so why didn't they get assigned it because she was instead of coming up with some daft reason?

I think this is one of the best episodes. On the season one DVD they have audio commentary about it which is really interesting. (a lot of behind the scenes stuff that I never would have thought about but after listening to that it is even more interesting to watch it again.)
note: they added the "magic trick" knowing that MGG is a fairly good magician but it turned out to be a lot harder than he thought it would be because the microchip was so small and he didn't realize he was going to have to do that wearing rubber gloves. He pulled it off well though!
The visual effects were awesome!

Did anyone else notice the look on Gideons face when he thought Reid may have been shot? We have seen him through some hard times and that episode alone he knew Elle was on the train..she also DID get shot later in the season..but never, NEVER have I seen Gideon look like that before. It was as if his whole world just stopped. He loves Reid, and I love that about him.

I love the quote just before Reids about to go onto the train:
REID: Could you guys do me a favor?
MORGAN: (seriously) Anything.
REID: Could at least one of you look like you're gonna see me again?
HOTCHNER: See you when you get back.
 I love that quote!

That is a GREAT quote! Poor Reid....they didn't have too much confidence in him did they?

I love that quote too...it's funny but watching all of the first season epidsodes has really made me notice some nuances that you just don't get while watching on tv!
