J.J. - May 4, 2008 11:32 PM (GMT)
I'm actually on Facebook because one of my friends decided that it was the best way for all of us to keep in touch... I'm still not sure if he's right...

I'm also on Facebook, and I agree with your friend. It is a good way to keep in touch. Actually, I've regained contact with several persons (from both my time in the Norwegian military service and from the last year I went to school) through Facebook.

It seems like everyone's on Facebook now...it is a good place to keep in touch but I stil prefer just chatting over msn! The apps are fun on Facebook though if you get bored  And it's nice having all your friends in one place, you can message them or play games with them whenever you like!
JJ_16 - May 5, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)
Yes I do. It's a good way to keep in touch with people.

I don't and I'm totally fine without it. I mean, from what I understand, on facebook everybody on your friends list can see EVERYTHING you do. Like if you go and fix a typo on your profile, they'll know about it! That's weird for me. Plus, I have my LJ, and I only need one social networking site. Y'know, more of you people should get LJs. ;)
But hey, if Facebook is what floats your boat then that's cool too. ;)

I have a facebook account and that is how I keep in touch with friends from fellow scuba diving buddies... I also found old friends from high school and keep in touch with them too.

You can change your setting though so that no one can see that you've updated ;) And you can customize who sees what on your profile. I guess if you keep it public, it's probably wise not to post anything too personal

I tried to sign up but it wouldn't let me. Really weird!
Rach112 - May 9, 2008 04:35 PM (GMT)
Maybe it's having a bad day ;)
But it could be because you're under 18...I had trouble signing up when I first tried and someone told me it was because I was under 18 and there was a problem with verifiying my school. Don't know if that's true or not but I do know you need to be part of a school network to sign up if you're a certain age...
JulieFan - May 9, 2008 04:36 PM (GMT)
'Everyone can sign up'.. my ass :P
I can't sign up, I tried, but my school isn't there ;)
Hallondrake - May 13, 2008 07:20 PM (GMT)
Well, just add your school then :) Problem solved! ;)
CM Addict - May 15, 2008 12:59 AM (GMT)
Can she add her school without an account though?
Rach, that's interesting. But good to know. I think the other reason I don't really want it is I like to keep my online friends and my school peeps separate. I like having the two worlds (I can come to this one to escape that one). Thus, having a social networking site where I mix the two....not good. And the idea of aligning myself with my school, that means all the people at my school would know I have an account, and I don't like very many people at my school. I know you don't have to friend them or anything, but still. Plus, I've got too many online accounts already. ;)
And I had another point that I just forgot. Oh well.
Hallondrake - May 16, 2008 12:32 AM (GMT)
I think my friend did so, so I guess, or maybe Im just too tired to think :P (which wouldnt be surprising at all)
Hm well, i was (and am) too tired to think. No you probably cant add your scool without an account, but hey, I am the way I am.
Sorry :)
JulieFan - May 16, 2008 10:45 AM (GMT)
My school is in the Netherlands remember. When I tried to add it, it didn't work.
Hallondrake - May 16, 2008 07:23 PM (GMT)
Yes I know, but mine is in Sweden and we managed to add it. Its a global network, so it should work. But whatever, I dont know maybe it doesnt work anyway.
