****from spoiler TV*****

**A young man is in prison as a convicted killer. A female corrections officer is very sympathetic and feels sorry for him and becomes a victim when he takes advantage of her kind nature. The man's birth mother feels guilty about rejecting him when he came to her, asking to be a part of her life, and feels responsible for the man he became. The team convinces her to testify against him when they point out how he has been tying her in to each murder he commits. **

He's always gonna be the poor clueless husband who ended up dead thanks to his cluelessness to me. ;)

So this one seems case centric. I'm actually happy about that because we've gotten so many character ones lately, and when you throw that in it doesn't always allow time to develop the unsub (I never thought I'd say 'no more character eppies,' but yeah).

super nice ep! I love how they showed how the team started. Baby girl! XD
And i love the scene in the courtroom where hotch profiled the lawyer. super awesome. i couldn't help but think of sherlock holmes with reid as his dr. watson.

anyone knows the poem at the end? i knew reid knew what it was! super nice.

~suzi~ - May 15, 2008 03:52 PM (GMT)
I originally didnt like the format this episode held, even though it was interesting and all to see what happened, i didnt think the whole flashback thing worked well for the program.

Having said that though, im so glad i was alone out here watching this,because i Squeed at the whole 'babygirl' thing! I thought it was excellent that they put that in there,and maybe just maybe, its a sign that they know we fangirls are out here. And maybe one day, we might get what we want :D

*grins*

All in all though, i did end up enjoying the episode in the end. I thought the killer really considers himself a different person now,and i liked the poetry in the end.. Reid has such a beautiful voice for reading poetry, even though im not really a fan of him as such. Made me cry, as usual... Doesnt seem to be an episode go by of this show that i dont cry lol

I didnt go much on that female lawyer though, i dont honestly think she has enough feelings... I mean yeah, you would be happy about the case being closed, but i thought she was entirely too peppy the whole way through, and i would have liked to see her display just a little emotion at the fact of what the killer had been through to get where he was at the end of the show.

I could see the chemistry between her and Hotch too, but i honestly think Hotch needs someone softer though and someone more able to show emotion and feel. Although that could just be a projection from me wishing things i cant have seeing as i am such an emotional person .

The lack of emotion at all in this woman except for her to grin maniacally all the time was quite disturbing. Im glad they went with the ending that they did of the team going back and not having drinks with her though..

The poem is called

Ode On Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood by William Wordsworth

And you can find the full poem at this blog here

What was with the high school photo of Emily?
I hope they develop some sort of storyline as to why she looked like that and the fact that she can't remember looking like that..

Special Agent Jentzer - May 15, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
I really thought this was a great Reid episode, he was a lot more confidant, he seemed grown up!!

Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood, 175-186
William Wordsworth

QUOTE
What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.

That photo was very rough!! :D :D :D

Glory In The Flower

what the dad said:

QUOTE
"What though the radiance that was once so bright, be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour........"

what reid finished:

QUOTE
"Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower; We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind."

:wub: Me loved the episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reid kicked ass here! And I liked how he was with the father, specially that he went by at the end of the episode.

The cap looked good on Morgan! :wub:

Emily's high school photo… :lol: well she looks waaaaaaaaaaaaay better now ;)

Hotch was good too, specially on the witness stand ;)

And Rossi's remark: "Course it went well, I taught him everything he knows about giving testimony." :D

And the way technical analyst 'Gomez' looked when she was called 'baby girl' (and she has heard worse…or better, just depending on the way you look at it ;) )

LovinThisShow - May 16, 2008 01:23 AM (GMT)
i liked this episode, not my favorite but it was pretty good...i liked how reid profiled the dad and stopped him from blastin the guy...oh, and that part where morgan freaking jumped from one building to the next...the first thing i thought was omg, i don't think i'd make that if i pulled something like it lol

Reid's-fav-cheerleader - May 19, 2008 05:29 PM (GMT)
I particularly enjoyed this episode because it gave us insight into the team without making it a character episode. I LOVE character eppy's but a good strong case-oriented episode was needed.

Eszty - May 30, 2008 04:47 PM (GMT)
Garcia = Gomez.. :lol: :lol:
My Goood!!!!!

Bad Reid!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Question

in LDSK didn't Hotch say Reid worked in the FBI for 3 years... in 2005... so... Reid would've joined in 2002, wouldn't he?
I got stuck...
