Title: Episode of the week - Week #9
Description: Derailed

I love this show! - March 3, 2008 12:58 PM (GMT)
This is one of my all-time favorite episodes!!!! :) I love this one! I have to confess the first time I watched it I didn't get that Leo wasn't real right away. It wasn't until they had done the research on all the passengers and we got a little history on them and I was still thinking to myself...who is that guy...that I figured it out. I loved the suspense and tension in this one.

Of course my favorite scene was when Reid volunteered to do his magic trick and fool Ted into finding the microchip in his arm. And the college kid cracked me up. "Did you see that? The dude actually had a chip in him!" And of course Reid's great line about "could at least one of you look like you're going to see me again"

And the special effects were really cool too. The lady turning into an angel and Reid turning into the stringy thing. Oh...and I liked it when Reid was pretending to see Leo too.

The commentary on this episode was really great! If anyone hasn't listened to that, I would recommend it - a lot of good behind the scenes stuff that I thought was really interesting.

Great, great episode!!!

this was the episode that got me hooked onto CM. i think i was channel surfing when i saw Derailed and i thought it was SO good so i downloaded the previous episodes online and thats how CM started for me. all cause of Derailed.

Reid definetly played the hero in this one. i loved all his little one liners including the one that Pam mentioned and the one at the end with Elle where she tells him that he saved her life and he said that they caught it all on tape. :D

This episode kind of shows how intense CM can be without all the blood and gore. And the history of all the passengers was pretty interesting too. All in all, an excellent eppy!

This was my first CM ep too. ;) It's so weird to watch it a second time, when you've got all this intimate knowledge of the show and its characters that you didn't have the first time; back then it was just another cop show. But I loved it nonetheless. Pam, you're not the only one who missed the Leo thing the first time. I remember I felt so stupid afterward. But that was a great move on the writers' part.

You guys have already mentioned Reid's line, but I loved it too, it was still funny this time around. And speaking of funny, how the heck do you lose footage? For the most part I actually found the commentary rather boring, but that part was amusing. And the part where one of the guys was talking about how in the days of DVD they have to actually write articles because people will pause their DVDs and read them, that kinda made me want to go back and read it. But I didn't. Maybe I will next time I watch it.

According to the commentary Morgan, Elle, and Reid were supposed to be the siblings. I found that interesting, that it was just those three TPTB singled out. So who are the others supposed to be? Next door neighbours? ;) I'd always thought they were all one big family. I get that those three had stronger connections and all that, but yeah. It just felt odd for me that they were singled out, that the others weren't included.

Getting back to the ep, it was great the first time, it was great the second time, and it'll probably be great the twelfth time. Definitely one of my fave s1 CM eps.
