Title: Episode of the week - Week #6
Description: L.D.S.K.

I love this show! - February 11, 2008 12:19 PM (GMT)
One of my favorites! And I didn't get a chance to re-watch this one yet. (I'll try and do that tonight)

But in the meantime does anyone else want to start the discussion on this one?

*drool* < About sums it up!

OK, I'll get serious! *clears throat*

I loved the episode! It's great for the Reid fans, and good for the Hotch fans, without neglecting the fans of the other characters. That's what i love about CM, they can make an episode to revolve around 1 character, without neglecting the rest of the team. 'Somebody's Watching' is a prime example of that.

Plus, I love how in this one, Reid gets to be a little snarkier, and a bit of a hero. ('You kick like a 9 year old girl'! Classic!) I also loved this one, because you can't really work out who the UnSub is u til the end. I was so hoping it was gonna be that swarmy doc! He was...weird.

Great episdoe though, Suspensful, had its humour, kept you on the edge of ya seats, and gave Reid/Hotch fans a bit of a *squea* time!

There's bound to be more when I re-watch the ep. Just my first thoughts.

I agree with everything Jemma said, haha.
I love this episode. :D

[fangirl moment]
Reid looks so cute when he is all scared and crying and sitting on the floor and scared of Hotch and the gun... eee!
[/fangirl moment]

But yeah. Amazing epsiode.
I love how when you think they have the guy, he gets killed, too. Gets me everytime! Haha.

I got a chance to re-watch this one and i love it!

I really liked the scene at the beginning where Hotch was tutoring Ried for his firearms qualification. Loved the part where after Ried shoots the gun Hotch says "did Elle teach you that?"

Loved the part where Elle said that Ried failed his qualification and not to mention it because he would be embarrassed about it (looks directly at Morgan). She always was protective of Ried.

Then there's the part where Morgan hands Ried the whistle and says that they're all there for him and then at the end after he shot the unsub and Hotch said he passed his qualification as far as he was concerned and Ried gave Morgan back the whistle and Morgan said "touche kid".

P.S.: I know this is off topic but i like your banner CaraRied

i loved this episode because its one of those that i like to call a "character" episode. It showed Reid coming out of his shell a little bit with the quick replies and it kind of builds him as a character because thats the first kill we've seen him do. We also saw his brotherly interaction with Morgan. You see Morgan kind of teasing him and bullying him a bit, but we all know that he's just worried about his Reid.

AND it showcased Hotch and his brilliant mind! If i were in that situation, i'd be freaking out, but he was calm and figured his way out of it. I guess that's why he's in the FBI and im just here talking about him!

and i know this wasn't a big thing, but i think my favorite off-camera-but-still-on-camera moment was in the park when Gideon jumps on JJ because he hears the gun shots. If you see screen caps of it, it looks SO FUNNY. i wonder if they used stunt doubles... :P

CM Addict - February 12, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
Did he jump on her? To me it just looked like he pushed her to the ground and then didn't get fully down himself, he was looking around for whatever reason, and I was thinking, "Um, dude, you might wanna take your own advice and GET DOWN!!!"

I liked the episode, although, just like Broken Mirror, they kept the suspense until the end, but as soon as I saw the Unsub I knew it was him! They have this look...and this particular Unsub (anyone else have Judging Amy flashbacks?) had it.

The hostage scene was brilliant, I kind of guessed Hotch's plan, but it was still a great scene to watch. My only problem with it was technically, even though Reid shot the guy to save Hotch's life (and all the other hostages) technically, that would still be an issue with the big wigs at the FBI, since Reid wasn't authorized to carry a gun at that point. Oh yeah, second problem, although this is a mini one: It seemed a little too Hollywood that right when it counted Reid could shoot and hit the target, even though he couldn't do it at the beginning, and it was mentioned that Reid had always been a bad marksman.

But yeah, besides those issues, I really liked the ep. ;)

CriminalMind - February 13, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
Yeah, UnSubs definetly had a 'look' about them! :D And, I'm ashamed to say, I never guessed Hotch's plan! I honestly thought he was just wailing on Reid! I sat, literally yelling at the screen, telling Hotch off! 'No Hothc, don't kick Reid, what the hell are you doing, whay are you kicking him you dirty snot!?!?'

lol, mum refused to re-watch the episode with me, lol!

And, would it really be a problem with the FBI that Reid shot the guy? He wasn't technically carry the gun, just used it. If so, that's a very strange policy, I never knew that! (Learn something new everyday).

lol, I know, I'd be Reid, sitting there sobbing, lol. Hotch was so manly in the ep! :P (Yes, Jemma's in fangirly mode. And don't ask where 'manly' came from, first word!) :P

Well, I can't say for sure, on account of the fact that I don't work for the FBI, but I would assume that there would be, regardless of how unfair it was. I do know that whenever a law enforcement officer fires their gun there is an internal investigation. They're very careful when they look at the situation and they almost treat the officer like a suspect, I suppose to get the public off their backs about corruption and how they protect their own, society comes second (which is actually true, and there are other ways they showcase this, but I digress). In the end, if it's a good shoot, the officer is cleared, but that doesn't get rid of the annoyance IAB caused. And now I'm rambling, so I'll shut up.

CriminalMind - February 17, 2008 05:52 PM (GMT)
lol, yeah, I wondered about IAB. Poor Reid, I'd be peeing myself if I was investigated, regardless of whether I was in the right or not. And yeah, that would make sense, I know Law Enforcement around our way is constantly being picked on for something or other.

Also, coming back to the eppy (I always manage to get distracted, and drift off! :P) I love the brotherly interaction between Morgan and Reid, with the whistle. I also love how Morgan has teh attention span of a squirrel! 1 minute Elle tells him not to mention it, next minute he's handing Reid a whistle, and teasing him! :D Makes me laugh everytime!

I love those scenes! They totally make the episode :D

I half freaked when Hotch started kicking Reid. Great thinking Hotch but it looked so painful for little Reid! Don't worry Jemma, it took me a while to figure the plan out too!

I really loved this episode! Okay, so I say that about them all but this eppy is where Reid really started coming into his own and I started to like Hotch more too.

ac, I am gonna go look for that screencap!

I love this show! - February 17, 2008 11:59 PM (GMT)
Well....I never did get the chance to re-watch this one. But I watched it in December so that wasn't too long ago.

I couldn't stand that doctor! I thought it was him (I was so easily fooled! ) I loved the part where they were in the park trying re-enact everything and the cop is telling them "he's the guy playing the unsub!"

I was completely shocked too the first time I watched it and Hotch started kicking Reid! I was like....Wait!!! You don't really hate him right? But I love Reid's comment about he figured out the plan as soon as Hotch moved everyone out of his line of fire!

I really liked the end with Reid and Gideon. Gideon telling Reid he was proud of him. Those are the moments I miss most now that Gideon is gone and I don't think we'll get that with Rossi. (well with Reid anymore either - I think they've made him change and he's too grown up now or something to need mentoring anymore. :( ) Maybe that deserved the  face.

I thought it was mean for Morgan to tease Reid that way! But I guess that was a big-brother type thing to do. And I thought Hotch's comment about "Did Elle teach you that?" after Reid shot the target in the crotch was pretty funny!

Great episode! I think one of the best ever.
