Title: RIP Heath Ledger
Description: You will be missed.
sandersidle - January 23, 2008 04:10 AM (GMT)
I think this is the right place to post this.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/01/...dead/index.htmlHe died today. I just can't believe it. I was in shock. One of my favourite movies is 10 Things I Hate About You. He was awesome it. He has a daugher and a wife. He was only 28.
RIP, Heath. You'll be terribly missed.
Matthew*GG*Fan - January 23, 2008 09:03 AM (GMT)
I was about to make this thread but you beat me to it.
I heard about Heath's death at 8:45AM this morning, about one hour and fifteen minutes after his body was found. I've been upset all day, and I couldn't stop looking at the poster of him at work (I work at a movie theater). I'm incredibly saddened by his death and I will miss Heath greatly. He was such a brilliant actor and to have his career and his life cut so short is horrible.
Rest in peace, Heath. You will be greatly missed. <3
JulieFan - January 23, 2008 01:58 PM (GMT)
I opened msn.nl and the first thing I saw was this! I was shocked.. I was like staring at the computer screen news message for 5 minutes in class. I still can't believe it! This is just like Steve Irwin dying, I still can't believe it!

You know what those morons from the Westboro Baptist Church are planning to do? They plan to picket his funeral!
Look at what they wrote! *highlight*
Yes. WBC will picket this pervert's funeral, in
religious protest and warning: "Be not
deceived; God is not mocked." Gal. 6:7. Heath
Ledger thought it was great fun defying God
Almighty and His plain word; to wit: God Hates
Fags! & Fag-Enablers! Ergo, God hates the
sordid, tacky bucket of slime seasoned with
vomit known as 'Brokeback Mountain' - and He
hates all persons having anything whatsoever
to do with it.
Heath Ledger is now in Hell, and
has begun serving his eternal
sentence there - beside which,
nothing else about Heath L~dger is
rerevant or consequential.
They are the ones going to hell   I'm glad Pam is not a member of that church  I hope there will be police there, who kick those censoreds on the ground and throw them in solitary jail. I can't believe they actually think God loves them, well I think he will be very pissed!
ILoveReed1988 - January 23, 2008 04:06 PM (GMT)

Damn, what an horrible people! You don't write that, 'specially not this fast after someones dead, and you don't go ruin someones funeral! That's just mean!
I don't believe in something like hell, nor do I think someone who's gay, or makes a really good movie playing someone who's gay, will go to hell because of that.
But if there's a hell: the people who stand behind this ideas from the Westboro Baptist Church must really want to see hell from the inside with there own two eyes.
CM Addict - January 23, 2008 04:15 PM (GMT)
Oh, so they were divorced? I was wondering about that. None of the reports I read mentioned anything about her or their daughter, and I was wondering....
It's sad. When will people ever learn about drugs. Nothing good will come from them.
Did you guys hear the part about how it was Mary Kate Olsen's apartment he was found in? What was that about? Were they together?
JulieFan - January 23, 2008 04:16 PM (GMT)
Yes, I can't believe they think that if there is a God, he would approve of what they do! I can't believe how cruel people can be, makes me so mad!
ILoveReed1988 - January 23, 2008 04:17 PM (GMT)
they do have a daughter together...its just soo sad..ive never done drugs nore will i ever..i dont know i heard that same thing
CriminalMind - January 23, 2008 06:48 PM (GMT)
I don't think they were, I think he was just renting her apartment. And it's not confirmed taht it was a drug overdose, as he only had his sleeping tablets, and the latest I heard was that it was a wrong amount prescribed by his doctor. Only a rumour though, so I wouldn't take it as fact.
And those people are evil. I don't believe God does hate the so called 'fags'. God is about love, and peace, and forgiveness, so why would he hate someone, just because they apparently choose to be gay? Those people are so ignorant, and no matter what you're feelings are, you don't go and ruin someones funerals. I'm of the believe that anything in church is sacred, whether it is a wedding, a funeral, a christning, whatever. So you dont' show open hatred there. If Heath was so disgusting, what does that make them?
I loved Heath so much. When me and my mates were younger, he was, like, our first ultimate crush. We watched all his movies. I'm a huge fan of 'Brokeback Mountain' and '10 Things I Hate About You'.
R.I.P Heath. My thoughts are with you, and your family. You'll be missed.

I'm feeling so weird. When I read he died my blood run cold, I really liked him :(

That is so disgusting! It's really sickening...
I was saddened to hear of his death :( He was a wonderful actor.
sandersidle - January 23, 2008 08:02 PM (GMT)
I cried last night. My friend told me at school that she cried too. It's just so sudden and such a tragety.
And those so called "catholics" can burn in hell. I'm a Catholic and I believe that God loves everyone. You don't decide whether you're gay or not. It just happens, and God made all of us so we should be loved for who we are.
Besides, he's not even gay. He just played someone who was. It's called ACTING. If they ruin his funeral they're going to regret it. Can you believe the outrage of his fans/friends/family?
ILoveReed1988 - January 23, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
i cried to when i read that heath died..he was a amazing actor..and im sadden at his death
JulieFan - January 23, 2008 08:18 PM (GMT)
It's just so sad. I'm crying because so many people die these days it's just not normal. I feel just like I felt when Steve Irwin died, I still can't believe he's gone :(
If this is all to test me, well then some of us probably got the highest test :(
ILoveReed1988 - January 23, 2008 11:38 PM (GMT)
this month has been a bad year for people dieing...people i know died..and now heath ledger
sandersidle - January 24, 2008 04:11 AM (GMT)
So many young men have died. Casey Calvert (26 years), Brad_Renfro (25 years) and now Heath at 28. It's crazy.
ILoveReed1988 - January 24, 2008 04:14 AM (GMT)
it is crazy....theses guys shouldnt of died...:(

What Westboro Baptist Church are planning to do makes me physically sick. That and the fact that they have absolutely no tact, for example their website is www.godhatesf**s.com (I'm sure you can work out what I censored...). It's just horrible. I agree, they're the ones going to Hell (provided there is one).
It was originally reported that it was Mary-Kate Olsen's apartment, but they contacted her publicist and they denied it.
I've read extensively on the issue and I believe it was an accidental overdose (which is horrible, but better than a suicide, I think). Here's my reasoning:
1. Heath was found face-down on the floor, naked. If he was committing suicide, you'd think he'd put some clothes on.
2. They found a bottle of sleeping pills on the table next to his body - Heath developed insomnia as a result of his intense preparation for his role as the Joker in the new Batman film The Dark Knight, which is why the pills were there. He admitted in an interview that he was only getting about two hours of sleep each night.
3. Prescription drugs were found in the bathroom - it's been confirmed that Heath had pneumonia at the time of his death, which explains these.
Therefore, I believe he accidentally overdosed on the prescription drugs as a result of the sleeping pills.
I'm going to wear a black arm band when I see The Dark Knight, and possibly even spray my hair green in tribute to Heath. Anybody else?
I love this show! - January 24, 2008 12:17 PM (GMT)
I hadn't even looked at this thread before because I don't know that I've seen any movies Heath Ledger was in.....so I'm not sure who he is.
But I just wanted to chime in so you guys know for sure - I DO NOT agree with Westboro Baptist church!! Those people give Christians like me a bad name!

Well, that's not gonna work out very well for them, because phone records now indicate that the maid called Mary Kate before she called the cops.
You're probably right about the accidental overdose, of course I never believed it was suicide anyway. Still, you'd think somebody, whether it be him, a doctor, somebody would have thought that perhaps mixing sleeping pills with the pneumonia meds might not be a great idea. If they had, this could have been prevented.
Sorry, I'm not sure I get the green hair thing. Which movie is that a reference too? (haven't really seen much of Heath's work over here)

JulieFan - January 24, 2008 07:00 PM (GMT)
They believe everything bad happens to America because they accept gay people  They 'thank God' for every dead soldier, dead 9/11 victim and more and while they say that, they write on their FAQ 'We don't approve of murder, thou shall not killl' WTF
Edit: It's officially! Some people are total morons! We should totally e-mail him!
etitions are being signed and offended parties are mobilizing in response to Fox News Radio host John Gibson's homophobic and inappropriate mocking of Heath Ledger's death.
We reported last night about Gibson's disgusting behavior and have vowed to boycott his show, which we've been on in the past, unless he apologizes.
Hopefully some action will be taken against him by the higher-ups at Fox.
Now, GLAAD has jumped into the fray as well.
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has denounced Gibson's behavior and just released the following call to action, something we suggested our readers do earlier too.
Fox News Host John Gibson Cruelly Mocks Heath Ledger's Death and his Role in Brokeback Mountain
In the wake of Heath Ledger's death, people around the world are mourning the gifted actor's passing and are expressing their appreciation for how he changed hearts and minds with his Oscar-nominated role as a gay cowboy in 2005's Brokeback Mountain.
In a stark and disturbing contrast, Fox News Radio host John Gibson cruelly mocked Ledger's death and his role in Brokeback Mountain during his Jan. 22 John Gibson Show radio broadcast. During the show, Gibson played an audio clip from the film of Jake Gyllenhaal's character, Jack, telling Ennis (played by Ledger), "I wish I knew how to quit you." Gibson then coldly quipped, "Well, he found out how to quit you." Then, after playing another audio clip from the movie of Ledger's character saying, "We're dead," Gibson mockingly said, "We're dead" and played the clip again.
“Gibson’s remarks are vulgar and disgusting,” said Rashad Robinson, GLAAD’s Senior Director of Media Programs. “It’s sickening that Gibson would exploit Heath Ledger’s tragic death to promote such hurtful intolerance. And to do so at a time when family and friends are grieving shows a level of insensitivity that is beyond the pale.”
Beyond his mockery of Ledger's role in Brokeback Mountain, Gibson called the actor a "weirdo" with "a serious drug problem," and callously speculated on the reasons Ledger might have committed suicide. Gibson had previously mocked Brokeback Mountain–calling it a "gay agenda movie" on his Fox News TV program in 2006.

GLAAD strongly urges you to contact Fox News and ask its representatives why they continue to provide a platform for John Gibson's cruel and tasteless comments.

You know, I think that these people are horrible for doing this, but you shouldn't get to worked up by it, then you just give those idiots to much credit!
Every in my eyes normal person knows that being gay is not bad, but pretty normal, just like being heterosexual, nor is making a movie about two gay men a bad thing (I still need to see that movie, I ment to, but I always forget  )
that some idiots think it's funny to do hurtful things like this, it sucks, but if you get to worked up about it, you just give them more atention and that's what they want. If you get what I mean.
It's horrible that Heath Ledger died so tragically young, just like that is the case with every other young person that died (gay or straight). And he will be missed and remembered.
I don't really care how he died, just that I'm saddened that it happened.
ILoveReed1988 - January 25, 2008 06:44 PM (GMT)

CM Addict - January 25, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
I haven't seen the movie either. So what is the plot exactly? Like, I know it's two gay cowboys, but is it just about their struggle to be together or is there something else in the story?
JulieFan - January 26, 2008 12:02 AM (GMT)
Ennis and Jack meet in 1963 when they are hired to heard sheep across Brokeback Mountain in Wyoming. Exactly. If it is an accidental overdose, it's the doctor(s)'s fault.
The green hair is a reference to Heath's upcoming role as the Joker in the new Batman film The Dark Knight. I'm definitely wearing a black arm band when I see it, and I'm considering spraying my hair green (because the Joker has green hair).
