Title: Season 3 DVD
CriminalMindsFan - January 17, 2008 10:41 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know if they're going to put out a Season 3 DVD with the episodes that did air?
Maybe they'll just put those on DVD's and make it cheaper than it's been in the past? Either that or they might just include it on next years?
ILoveReed1988 - January 17, 2008 10:42 PM (GMT)
i have no idea....be nice to know
CM Addict - January 17, 2008 10:49 PM (GMT)
I was wondering this myself. I figure it's one of those options. I would hope for it to be the former, but I've got a bad feeling it'll be the latter. Y'know, more money for the studios all at once and it pisses off the fans, which is something they have no trouble doing. ;)

Oh, I never thought about that...Would they really release a DVD with only half the episodes on? Actually, don't some shows do that? You have to buy the set in two parts?
ILoveReed1988 - January 17, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
i dont think they would release with just half the season
I love this show! - January 17, 2008 11:42 PM (GMT)
But with the strike this will be the complete season. I don't know for sure, I'm just guessing but I think they will release S3 with only 13 episodes and it will be cheaper.
ILoveReed1988 - January 17, 2008 11:44 PM (GMT)
well..i hope or i wish all the episodes are on it..

That's how they do it in Sweden and England does it too alot. Split the seasons in half <_< It sucks and that's why I do import.
What I love this show! (I'm SO bad with names ) said. With the strike s3 will only have 13 episodes. Guessing with 13 eps it will be around $24-30, like The Closer and The 4400.
ILoveReed1988 - January 18, 2008 04:42 PM (GMT)
here they do like the whole season on one dvd package
CM Addict - January 18, 2008 10:38 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I've never heard of the splitting thing, I guess that's why here they are always so expensive! If they do release the 13 together, then I suppose it'll be a nice change; seeing the price and not groaning. ;)
ILoveReed1988 - January 18, 2008 11:23 PM (GMT)
yea here is cost 60 dollars to buy a dvd player
ac5000 - January 19, 2008 04:46 AM (GMT)
well...i hope they do release the Season 3 DVD as usual, even if its only 13 episodes. The might make a big jumbo DVD set for season 3/4 though. Although im sure the price of that will skyrocket.
ILoveReed1988 - January 19, 2008 10:39 AM (GMT)
as long as they release one..ill be happy...:)
Rach112 - January 20, 2008 01:28 AM (GMT)
I really hope they just release season 3 by itself!
The splitting thing they do here is so annoying! They don't do it with CM but they do with Heroes, CSI etc
ILoveReed1988 - January 20, 2008 04:19 AM (GMT)
yea i hope they do too rach
paolafromparis - January 25, 2008 12:55 PM (GMT)
I'm still hoping in a myracle...
ILoveReed1988 - January 25, 2008 05:40 PM (GMT)
yea cause i want to buy season 3 of CM and i want the whole season
CM Addict - January 25, 2008 10:58 PM (GMT)
I had a thought the other day. Do the actors get paid for the DVD releases? Because if they do, then the studios will definitely want to release them, to prevent the actors from striking in June (of course, that might not be enough, the actors union is acting like Alan Rosenberg's freaking puppet right now; he says jump, they say how high. But still, it might be worth a shot).
I love this show! - January 26, 2008 12:13 AM (GMT)
Whoa...whoa...whoa! Now there's supposed to be an actor's strike too????
Will there ever be anything on TV again besides game shows and reality programs?!?
CM Addict - January 26, 2008 12:22 AM (GMT)
I've been hearing since day one of the writers strike that if it doesn't get resolved by June, which is when the actors' contract is up, they will most likely strike.
Don't worry, it might last a couple more months, but certainly not forever. Once the studios start to lose money (which they haven't yet because they didn't have to fund pilots they might not even run) and the writers start to feel the effects (which, granted, will probably take much more time. They started this whole thing and they'll be the last to get hit) suddenly both parties will remember how to compromise. Season Four might be delayed, but we will get it. ;)
ILoveReed1988 - January 26, 2008 02:54 AM (GMT)
i just worry when the strike in people might not wanna see these shows anymore..and they might get cancelled that what some people said..i mean me personal..ill always wanna see new episodes of CM..:)
I love this show! - January 26, 2008 03:26 AM (GMT)
How can they really cancel them? I mean eventually the strike will be over. It can't be that easy to come up with new shows that people like and have to build sets and cast them and all that stuff. It seems like if it's a good show that's popular they would do whatever they could to keep it from being cancelled permanantly
ILoveReed1988 - January 26, 2008 03:27 AM (GMT)
yea i agree with you pam on that it depends on the show
Luna - January 26, 2008 10:53 AM (GMT)
Yeah but seriously have a strike this long isn't really smart if you ask me, for example:
couple of years ago I was totally in love with Charmed (was even one of the admins at a site about it, had drawn a triquetra on my schoolbag, had all kind of stuff from it), I watched the episodes every week on tv, but on the dutch tv they decided to first have a break on the episodes from like eight months before showing the ending…I haven't seen the last couple of episodes to this day, and it ended almost two years ago!
If you stop a serie for to long time, a lot of people stop watching and when it comes on again it's like: oh yeah, that show also existed, maybe I'll watch it sometimes again, but then kinda forget doing it.
So CBS give them their money and writers start writing!
CM Addict - January 26, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
The way I understand it, the only shows that are in danger of not coming back next year are the new ones. The ones with the big followings will definitely be back. It's just the ones that haven't had a chance to gather a following yet that are in trouble.
And Pam, they reuse sets, so that part isn't really a big deal (seriously, I've seen some of the old shows that my parents used to watch when they were younger, and you can really tell how similar the sets are). I think the biggest issue is gonna be hiring new crews. They will no doubt have moved on, because they're not union protected.
But this is a little OT, isn't it? I think what I had originally intended to say when this whole thing started is that they will probably release season three on schedule, because the actors get paid for that (I think), and they want to keep them happy.
ac5000 - January 26, 2008 06:55 PM (GMT)
im pretty sure most shows will be back after the strike, including the newer ones. There wouldn't be any new pilots to replace the older shows because of the strike, so i wouldn't be too worried about CM not coming back.
I agree with you Luna though on the whole losing interest thing. Like, on thursday, Chuck came back after about 3 weeks of hiatus and yea, i was excited but not as excited as i usually am. <_<
WithSprinkles - January 31, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
I really hope they do put out a season 3 DVD and even if there aren't that many episodes they can stuff it full of amazing kick ass extras. (Prays that they do that.)
CM Addict - February 1, 2008 02:11 AM (GMT)
Hmm, that's an interesting idea. Extras don't need to be written, do they? And could they get into the studios to shoot them? It'd be really nice if they did; a lot of shows are skimpy on the extras a lot of the time, and extras make me happy. :D
ac5000 - February 1, 2008 03:59 AM (GMT)
BLOOPERS!!!...although...the season 2 ones weren't that funny. I love em' more when we see them flub their lines. Makes them seem less like gods and more, well...human
and they should do like a set tour! and a wardrobe tour! we'll get to see if they purposely dressed JJ and Prentiss in the same thing or if it was an accident :ph43r:
ILoveReed1988 - February 1, 2008 04:12 AM (GMT)
:) yea that would be cool ac
WithSprinkles - February 1, 2008 04:27 AM (GMT)
I want bloopers, full cast commentaries, set tour, wardrbe tour, trailer tours, tours for everything! A behind the scenes profile on every character and in depth look at them and that actor or actress that plays them would be much appreciated also. If you haven't already guessed I demand nothing but excellence from my DVDs.
ILoveReed1988 - February 1, 2008 04:30 AM (GMT)
:) i mean that would be cool..they have to hav ea lot of dvd for that..:D

ROFL, you and me both. They should really consult the fans when deciding what to put on as extras, huh? Full cast commentaries, wow, those would be crowded, but probably hilarious. It's not that it's not nice to get the ones from TPTB, but still, having some from the actors' would be nice; after all, they're the ones we watch on screen every week.
huuudaaa - February 9, 2008 02:23 AM (GMT)
commentaries on evvery episode! more mgg!!!
wardrobe tour would be cool! and how they make all those weapons, and the make ups for the dead bodies and all the blood.
and more mgg!!!!
CM Addict - February 10, 2008 03:29 PM (GMT)
Didn't they do a small thing on the...was it S1 DVD with the prop guy? It wasn't even a prop room, it was more like a prop corner, and we saw some of the stuff...
