Title: Favorite Christmas Memory 2007/08
Description: any thing good happen?
Special Agent Jentzer - December 27, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
Although I have worked a lot over the past few weeks, I have had a pretty good christmas season....
I have a pretty large family, and we have had really great visits on the 24, 25, and the 26th.
I received some wonderful gifts......I'll address this later.... :ph43r:
but the funniest memory I have was on christmas day my dad decided to cook the turkey on the BBQ...
which in itself is not to odd...tastes YUMMERS....however, he lost track of time, forgot to add water, and in the afternoon my niece says "papa, why is their so much smoke outside.....yep...fire burnt...lol...smoked turkey...it all worked out though....leftovers are a bit scarce though...drat I love turkey sandwiches...

Ah, so maybe I should be grateful that my dad doesn't like to barbeque anymore. ;)
I know what you mean about scarce leftovers, we had the same problem this year. I think because Dale was a smaller turkey than we usually have (yes, we named the turkey. Shut up). But my mom still had issues getting his neck out of him (it was actually quite amusing to watch).
..We don't really have outrageous Christmas moments here. Never set anything on fire at least. Guess I should be grateful for that, huh?

Drunken visitors, lots of wine, secret phone calls, getting to have 3 different celebrations with different people..yeah, there were some good moments! My brothers were hilarious on the train journey down on Christmas Eve, never again will we attempt to sit in the quiet zone. We don't normally spend this much time together and I'm torn between enjoying it and wanting to kill them :P
Christmas lunch was really wierd. Everyone was completely silent  I have no idea why...
Being a vegetarian, I felt sick when i saw the turkey

thats what I'm talking about....dale....loud brothers.....drunk aunts....lol...laughing
It snowed like crazy here last night....I was dreaming about a white christmas....just two days late.....
the wanna be butterscotch pony got me a "i love you aunty"....(and a lot of happy tears from me)....
cheers and happy thoughts to you all!

The whole week has been great for me! We've eaten WAY too much (every night someone is in charge of cooking their specialty - I think we have leftovers for a week) Then lots of playing games and now of course treasure hunting!!! The kids love it because they like to see if there's anything good in the caches and the adults have fun tracking them down. Works great for everyone!

Christmas was amaaaaaaazing this year. Rick has finally decided that me and his family just shouldn't really be around each other, so we had all of our friends come over for dinner. Rick (being the "macho" guy he is  ) decided that he was going to do all the cooking and boy was he in way over his head :D .
Blake of course was the life of the party..lol. Lots of presents for him and suprisingly, no one got drunk! a little tipsy, but nothing we couldn't handle :D
all in all, probably one of the best christmas's ever

I almost broke my neck when going ice skating for the very first time in my life...But still I loved it... B)
CM Addict - December 28, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
^Yikes! I'm not a very good skater either...Probably why I stay away from it.
CalleighElleDakota - December 28, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
[COLOR=red]Well, I'm good at it and I skating quite fast - but then I had to make a sudden turn to avoid bumping in a total idiot who didn't watched where he was going
But I'm okay - except of my still bruised knees... B)

I guess I'm the exception to that rule. Actually, my whole family is the exception to that rule. We don't skate.

When I was a child I was a chicken. Terrified of everything. I'm not that way anymore, but at the time my mom tried to enroll me and my sister in skating lessons, but being a chicken, I didn't take to it. I don't actually recall even getting on the ice. Years later, a few years ago actually, I tried it again, but it was SO HARD. It looks so easy, but you've gotta have really strong leg muscles for it. I tried my best, but I couldn't get the momentum, so I let it be.
My mom has arthritis, which is why she doesn't skate, although I think in her youth she may have known how. My sister....she's been on the ice before, but she's autistic, so I don't think she can do much. My dad...who knows, who cares.

CalleighElleDakota - December 31, 2007 10:00 AM (GMT)
For me it was the total normal Xmas - my adoptive parents were away I got my presents and wondered about my parents...
JulieFan - December 31, 2007 10:25 AM (GMT)
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't fun either. I was so tired :(
CalleighElleDakota - December 31, 2007 10:40 AM (GMT)
Two years ago I was horrible sick at Xmas - I had high fever and my head felt as if it was going to explode...THAT was fun B)

I love Christmas. Everything about it makes me feel like a child! Although, I love traditional Christmasses, which never happan, as everything's super commercial. That said, this year was cool, as we had a family Xmas, and then a family New Year.

My favorite Christmas Memory 07/08 is Lab Christmas Party. I really enjoyed all the whole day, it was pretty wonderful.
