Dutch is from Holland and German from Germany (quite obvious, the last one xD) but I think they´re pretty similar. Maybe I´m worong, cause I don´t know anything about Dutch :huh:

German and Dutch look a bit like each other but the same they they are different!

And Dutch and German (annoying thing German is called 'Duits' here…so I always got that wrong on english tests when I was younger <_< ) look similar in other languages, but I'm not good at horrible…reading, okay but when my German teacher asks me a question… :blink: :ph43r:

But anyway…it feels slightly mean to speak a language not everyone understands…if nobody has problems with it… :unsure:

Ja lente is mijn favoriete jaargetij, bedoel het is vol met leuke bloemetjes en het geeft soort van hoop: de zomervakantie is voor de deur.

I don't know it that well! I can understand reading it a whole lot better than I can speak it (or understand hearing it because people talk too fast....my little brain can't think that fast!) :lol:

I wish I could speak more languages! I'm always very impressed by people that can speak a lot of them.

It's actually a question of training not more and not less...

I´m trying not to forget my English and my French, and I can say books and Internet it´s a good way to keep on reading/writing ^^

Is it close to German at all? Not like that would help me because I don't know any German, I just think the words and spelling look a lot alike. (like Italian is close to Spanish) I would think Chinese or Japanese would be the hardest language to learn.

Well I speak:
English :rolleyes: (I was so proud, my teacher said I had to best pronancation of the class! :lol: but my writing kinda sucks <_< )
Spanish
Dutch
French (but with a lot of mistakes and some pointing)
German (but with also the pointing and well grammar…horrible)
Italian (but more understanding then speaking it myself, but do understand it all, when I speak back I use a lot of Spanish in it)
Latin…but that really isn't something I'll ever be able to use :unsure:

But anyhows, I don't think Dutch is very hard to learn, it depends on what languages you speak.
My mom learned it when she was twenty something, when she met her first husband I'm guessing, and speaks really good Dutch and my neighbours who moved from England couple years back (with two adorable little boys, but so so so tireing!) they both speak Dutch really good ;)
But well if you live in a country it's kinda hard not to pick up the language if you ask me (it happends but I can not understand it :) )
