When one half of a serial-killing duo commits suicide, the team must identify and find the other killer, who has abducted his next victim.
Just getting ready for tonight's episode! :D I hope it's a good one! The previews look good.......

i haven't even seen the previews yet! Sounds like a good one!
I love this show! - November 8, 2007 03:05 AM (GMT)
Now that was a really good episode! I will definitely have to watch it again....I missed some of the scenes so I was a little lost on some of the stuff Rossi was talking about with Ruby Ridge but what I caught of the episode I thought was very good.
Rossi is still a bit of a jerk, but at least I found him more interesting this week. I thought when everyone was profiling his office was pretty funny. And Rossi I think was a bit amused about his comments back to them but it wasn't very helpful in getting along with them.
Reid - the pipe cleaner!
The unsubs were very creepy! I don't think I want to know what all their torture devices were used to do! The scene with Morgan and JJ in the bar was pretty intense - really the whole episode had a lot of tension.
What did everyone else think?
Kyle - November 8, 2007 03:16 AM (GMT)
I thought it was an excellent episode! I loved the plot, and yeah!
I think that Rossi is still sort of quiet, and I think he needs to lighten up some.. But, Prentiss was the same way at first, and she seems to have lightened up!

Ok, saw the first part (15 minutes) and was really enjoying the show!!
random and spoiler-ish...spoiling the spoiler i guess.....
The police officer had a bit of warning....officer down.....hate that :(
How could Rossi have heard all of that? beans i say...team hehh, i agree with morgan!...actually loved the "mini team profile...what did dr spencer reid call it...I laughed
emily....fashion police hello....YIKES!!!!!
how tall is AJ Cook? 5' 11'?
loved the "husband profile" by Hotch and Emily
"pipe cleaner with eyes".....laughing my a** off.....how long will that take to become someones banner and sig!!
and on a side note...cause I have worn an enforcement belt with all sorts of gadgets, I always really wondered why reid carried his gun the way he did....although really good look with the man purse...just not practical.....has he had his qualifying tests lately?
wow when he said "a women from this community" that got the guys attention....
"ruby ridge"........another piece of the rossi mystery puzzle?????
dr spencer reid assessment of the manifesto......clever, loved it, he is a smarty pants!! he is so darn cute!
EMILY YOU GO GIRL......bets yet!!!! best I've seen!!! great profile and interrogation of the ex-wife!!
Its apparently wing wednesday and draft beer and the NHL Hockey Network on the big TV....banished to cablevision, have to wait until 10:00 pm MST to continue my profile........... :(
I love this show! - November 8, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
True...I think Rossi is picking up right where Prentiss left off. But the bad thing about that is I wasn't really liking Emily until this season. I don't want to not like Rossi all year!
We heard his "unfinished business" thing again.
Emily was looking very military this episode wasn't she?
Special Agent Jentzer - November 8, 2007 08:06 AM (GMT)
I thought the episode was great!!
Don't like the way rossi speaks though....hmm.....
They are giving him tons of "history" though...ruby ridge, unfinished business...
FYI:
| QUOTE |
Ruby Ridge refers to a violent confrontation and siege involving Randy Weaver, his family, Weaver's friend Kevin Harris, federal agents from the United States Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The events took place on August 21, 1992 on the Weaver family property, located on a hillside between Caribou Ridge and Ruby Creek near Naples in northern Idaho.
In the months leading up to the incident, Weaver had failed to appear in court to answer charges relating to possession of an illegally shortened sawed-off shotgun, and the U.S. Marshals Service was directed to serve a warrant for his arrest.
Weaver failed to show up on his court date, stating the warrant gave the wrong date. His son, Samuel Weaver, was in the woods with a pet dog, hunting.
Federal agents shot Samuel's dog, sparking a firefight which resulted in the deaths of Samuel and US Marshal William Degan.
As a result, Federal agents stormed the house.
Lon Horiuchi, an FBI sharpshooter, shot at Weaver and Harris, injuring them and killing Vicki Weaver as she held her baby daughter.
The stand-off was resolved with a truce arrangement, following which Weaver and Harris were arrested.
Weaver was ultimately acquitted of all charges except missing his original court date and violation of his bail conditions, for which he was sentenced to 18 months and fined $10,000. Credited with time served, Weaver spent an additional 4 months in prison. Harris was acquitted of all charges. |

Very interesting......I don't remember hearing anything about that case. But then again I didn't follow news very closely in those years either. I do remember the Waco standoff.
So the history is interesting but the FBI agent with a tortured past and especially one case in particular (Galen family.....I suppose we'll find out about that one eventually) is a little close to Gideon's character. He isn't like Gideon in his personality but his story seems to be following it a bit.
I can't wait to re-watch it again tonight and really listen closely to everything that was said.

I thought it was really good last night, glad Becki survived, I was scared he was going to shoot her  I love it when they save a victim at the end, gives it a nice touch, lol

i liked this episode....except for one thing....i didnt like knowing who the unsub was sooo Early...i like when he called reid Pipe Cleaner With eyes....LOL
I love this show! - November 8, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
They've been doing that a lot this season.....telling us who the unsub is right away. I like trying to figure it out or being surprised. But I'm not complaining this time because I did really like this episode.
Reid...a pipe cleaner! That was very funny!
Bren - November 9, 2007 01:36 AM (GMT)
Now that was a great ep! Lots of drama, lots of excitement, and even a smidgen of character development.
I thought the scene in which Morgan, Reid, and Elle profiled Rossi was funny, even though I knew he'd catch them. I thought he handled their intrusion rather well, and yeah, he even seemed amused by it. He's enjoying his role as "secretive new team member" way too much. :)
After Rossi was introduced last week, I said to my sister, "I bet they'll link him to Ruby Ridge at some point." Wow...that was sooner than expected. I remember the shootout at Ruby Ridge very well; it didn't reflect well on the FBI, and there were mistakes made on all fronts.
The only thing more disturbing than that whole "Master" bit and seeing those instruments of torture was knowing that there are actually people who get off on that kind of pain and degradation. Um....ick.
Reid as a pipecleaner...LOL!
I really liked this ep, and I think Rossi's character will slowly but surely become part of the team. It'll be interesting to see what happens to bring him into the fold. I hope we don't have to wait too long.

Hi :D
I love this episode. Reid a "pipecleaner with eyes.' LOL I really liked Morgan going into the redneck bar. Great scene.
Morgan, Reid and Prentiss sneaking into Rossi's office funny.
the torture implements--Pear of Anguish - I like history element - Prentiss not knowing what it was - nice touch!!
The woman at the gas station who had the shotgun--at least she was smart enough to not shoot.
next week - episode LUCKY - TEARS for the BAU

Great ep! And GOGOGO, Rossi, people are starting to accept you, with Emily it was a bit hard, when people called her Morticia on another board it pissed me off, because I liked her from the start. (I usually like what people don't like, ECCEPT FOR REID, OFCOURSE, but he is universal, like the Mona Lisa or a well made lasagnas !)
pipe cleaner with eyes...god, amazing sense of humor the milician! But Reid has been bullied since his first day of schoo, so...pipe cleaner with eyes was almost a compliment!
(but I will never watch a pipe cleaner the same way!)
Reid desappeared at the end of the ep, as he often does...but then, considering his great sense of balance (as a friend wrote in another board) it was probably not such a bad idea...he would not have walked three meters without stumbling!!!

Okey…I loved the episode. But well not very familiar with the US state steriotypes I only knew that Montana had horses and mountains going in the episode  (and I had figured that it probably was pretty conservative in some places…) so I learned a lot, some creepy people, 'specially the sniper.
Poor women, I felt so extremely bad for them and I also felt bad for the second Unsub, really hated it they had to shoot him.
And the poor husband with the little boy, it's not fair, now the child has to grow up hardly remembering his mommy! :(
Thank god (or well the writers) that they saved the last woman.
The part where they profile Rossi's office…awkward…but so funny!
I really loved Morgan being so protective of JJ and seriously hated the people in that bar being such racists!
Rossi was a jerk, but a nice jerk, I like him in the show, just don't like him…yeah that does sound kinda cryptic
Loved the part where Reid is rambling so much and Morgan get's up.
Reid: "Where are you going?"
Morgan: "Taking the last five minutes of my life back." :D :D :D :D :D :D
And where JJ tries to call some local news stations and Rossi tell's her to lose the FBI part and Reid asks who she was calling, she tells him and he sais: "Yeah…lose the FBI part."
And I loved that Emily asked Garcia how she was doing after watching those tapes. Seriously Emily is now like my fourth favourite person (right after Reid, Morgan and Garcia) I really thinks she's great this season!
ac5000 - November 9, 2007 05:14 PM (GMT)
definetly much better episode! it was VERY intense and i loved that bar scene between JJ and Morgan  ...you think the writers go on this board to check things out?

she was a morticia...I'm coming around, but NOT a big Emily fan in season 2....and it din't help in the season finale that we found out she was "given" the job....she was just not so clever....but really enjoyed her "teamwork" in Identity!!

I really liked this episode ... as I hoped would happen .. the episodes are getting better as the season goes along and Rossi is filling in that space that seemed empty to me .. the bar scene was really intense, but Morgan handled it quite well, as did JJ ... what happened to the "team going home on the plane" as is the usual ending? Or did I miss something. But all in all a very good episode :D
ILoveReed1988 - November 10, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
that was weird that they didnt do that
I love this show! - November 10, 2007 03:03 PM (GMT)
I was watching it again last night and laughing at the "profiling Rossi from his office" scene. Reid...first standing outside the office, then when he finally steps in he's right by the door up against the wall, and then finally comes over to see the picture. And all of their faces when they get caught are pretty funny!

They may just be hitting their stride (and recovering from having to rewrite the scripts they originally had Gideon in) and now I hope the strike doesn't wreck it. :(

Montana is a beautiful state with some wonderful people, but unfortunately it has become one of the preferred habitats for extremist groups, or "patriots," as they like to be called. Yeah... whatever, dude. <_<
One of the best books written about them is In God's County: The Patriot Movement and the Pacific Northwest. It's fascinating...and a bit scary. These people aren't exactly reasonable.

i really really liked this one! i must be in the minority because i actually like Rossi. i like him better than i did Prentiss when she first came in but now i like her. i loved Rossi's come back in the scene where they were profiling him based on his office. i also loved the scene at the end where he was talking to Morgan. i really can't wait to learn more about Rossi.
ILoveReed1988 - November 13, 2007 03:59 AM (GMT)
to me it feels like he's hiding something

That's the one thing that's given me a little bit of hope so far. His little grin after he caught them (and his good comeback remarks) I think shows he's really not a bad guy.....he's just trying to figure out how he fits in, and learn how to be a part of the team. I think I will like him, I just hope the writers don't stretch his beginning storyline out for too long.
ILoveReed1988 - November 13, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
yea i just think its gonna take some time for us to get us to rossi

very good!! and can you check in wardrobe and find out the make of both elle greenaway and prentiss wrist watch!!
Oanh Ly is showing in the credits as "writer", along with show creator jeff davis.
Oanh Ly also wrote "distress" another very well written episode (although I was sad the unsub was killed...I felt it was disrespectful to all veterans)
anyways, yes Bren I think all off us have great respect for the writers! and everyone on the show really...
Rossi is a "cowboy" shoot first, profile later type, it is interesting that they have given him some rich FBI background history...(although not all directed to "profiling").
ILoveReed1988 - November 13, 2007 03:50 PM (GMT)
well rossi as we can tell doesnt wanna wait and do it as a team

i don't think that it's so much shoot first. so far in both cases shooting was the way to go because neither of the unsubs were going to be taken alive and he figured that out by profiling them. i really like how they've given him the FBI background.
