Halloween provides the scenario when the BAU is called to Dallas to assist in the investigation of women who became victims of a man they'd met through a dating service and then rejected him.

The Trailer looks great...he seems to be a bit of a loner...?

He's clearly used to working alone, like he did in his earlier days. There's definitely gonna be tension between Hotch and Rossi! Hope I'll like the guy....wonder what his secret his. They couldn't just give us a nice, new uncomplicated agent! :lol: Evil Strauss is still around I see...

Anyone remember Max Ryan in Unfinished Buisness? I don't know why but I have a feeling that Rossi is going to be somewhat like him. i mean what else would bring him back to the BAU but " the one that got away"? well we'll see as time goes on.

I thought about that too. And I think he might come into the BAU sort of like that (hopefully not with as much of an attitude) but I don't think it will last. I think they'll have him realize that working with a team is a good thing and he'll get comfortable with it. He might always have a few issues with technology and stuff like that but I'm hoping they take the approach that his being unfamiliar with things they will turn into some lighter moments and maybe give us a few laughs rather than his character always fighting against everything.

I agree with you on that one. I'm actually sort of hoping for an episode where he wants to catch the one that got away but not have it be an obession with him before and after. call me strange but i am.

Tonight's the night! A new CM episode....looks like it could be a good and scary one for Halloween and we get to meet Agent Rossi. Hopefully it will be a good episode and give us lots to discuss for a few days. :)

welll..what did everyone thing about tonite's episode..I acutally have to say its was the best one this season..joe did a nice Job..

I have some thoughts but I'm waiting to see what some other people have to say before I comment.

Finally .. an episode that held my attention!! This is the first one i've really enjoyed since Mandy left. Rossi didn't show up and fit right in entirely, but then did we really expect him too??? No, not if we were being realistic. He's several years older than the rest of the team, he came from the old school where you worked on cases individually, not in groups, change will take time. He may never fit in completely with ever aspect of the group, but I think given time he'll do just fine :)

I hoped that having that last slot filled would bring things together for me and it has for the most part. It did make me a little weepy when he removed Gideon's name plate from the office door :( , but this too shall pass.

ILTS .. you're made of stronger stuff than me .. when I have an opinion I have to share it .. like it or not .. :lol:

i think this eppy was back to the regular CM that we're used to. Rossi's alright...haven't really gotten used to him though. I can definetly see him "with" the team.

i really did like the FINALLY updated opening credits though!

was there a connection between shooting the birds and the unsub?

loved loved loved the excitement in reid in trying to impress the new guy!! (rossi sort of blew him off...he better get that on track.. :angry: )

and the whole JJ thing....sorry....rossi is a sexist pig...he BETTER get over that really quickly!!

loved how hotch was very respectful and guarded of his team...specially JJ (re: the we didn't have that 10 years ago comment)

everyone was so welcoming...jj/garcia and presntiss "yes sir" "no sir" "glad you are here sir"

LOVING GARCIA "shes differant.....you don't even know", she was doing so well till she answered the phone...lol!!

love seeing that reid has his man purse back!!

LOVE the Kyle/ILTS reference "we are going to texas" :P

So can the guys call him "dave" but the girls have to call him "david"

Why does Morgan call Emily "Prentiss" when he is 3 feet away from him? I don't remember him ever calling my sweet elle..."greenaway" (Although) I got a more "elle/morgan" feel from some of there banter...which is OK... <_< ems was pretty low key this episode..

"Maybe I have "Unfinished Business" comment, along with the flashbacks and the necklace...clearly he is haunted by something (well not something, the dianne and richard gallen family with the three kids...)
and also hhmmmm didn't like how he brought it up with reid (about storing old files) and garcia (asking her to look for these files), then sort of blew them off and asked them to keep quiet....so not a team player..

I guess we are NOW VERY CLEAR ON EVERYONES titles!!

So the show got a huge rewrite from the original "side"..it was OK, but Rossi got a lot of screen time which took away from the very "hurried/scattered episode...41 minutes ish" Which was painful, could have been a great story line because of the.....

...creepy unsub, very creepy...sort of was a scary bad haunting wayne newton goulish look..

Bad jeans with cowboy boots and a blazer...not a good look...

And finally Garcia.....you were so careful to clean out gideons office, packing his belongings in a box.....how could you have not so gently and thoughtfully, removed the name plate....

jentzer burst into tears...

although its now just a "regular show" I watch on wednesday night....
I thought this episode was 7/10....**I did like the flashbacks...walking in the victims shoes...etc..(I will give rossi a few more episodes....as we do know that my garcia will be front and center in the next few weeks)**

I want to watch it again before I comment. I'm going to write the recap and then I'll be posting my thoughts later.

Okay....my thoughts on this episode. I had to think about it for awhile. Sadly, once again, I was rather disappointed. :( (I also have a ton of random thoughts.......)

There were a few scenes I liked. I liked Morgan and Prentiss profiling the victim's house. And I liked the twist on the "have you seen me?" actually being a question the unsub was asking about himself. And the ending scene where Rossi said sharing was a learned skill....referencing that he also had some learning to do. I also noticed how protective and fatherly Hotch was toward the team and especially JJ. :)

But there were some things I didn't like too. The opening at the BAU I thought was pretty corny. I didn't really find it funny, it just seemed kind of dumb. I thought the roles should have been reversed between Morgan and Reid. Reid is afraid of the dark but he likes Halloween and Morgan is creeped out???? (and scared by Reid in a mask?) Didn't really seem to fit. I think that was a scene where we weren't really seeing Reid.....we saw Matthew!

The Texas "accents" sounded totally fake! At least they don't sound like that here in West Texas.

Not too happy that Joe gets top billing...but I was happy that they at least moved TG to the end and I know those are supposed to be the best spots.

The timeline with Hotch's age doesn't make any sense at all!

About Rossi himself.....I think he came across as a jerk! I know we're supposed to get the idea that he was used to working alone but it would take a pretty selfish egotistical person to walk into an unfamiliar place and talk to people and do the things he did and not realize that maybe he should ask or discuss a few things with them before he acted???? (but I still believe we'll see a change in him and he'll be one of the team before long) The I have "unfinished business" was way too close to a Max Ryan reference for me. And what's up with his pretty much telling people he has unfinished business but wanting to keep what that is a secret?

How come Rossi can come in and profile Hotch and in a day or two realize that He and Haley are separated but the rest of the team hasn't figured that out yet? (Morgan knows because he told him)

I know the episode was our introduction to Rossi but I felt like way too much was centered on him and you really lost what the case was about.

It's quickly becoming that way for me too and I don't like it! :( :angry:

ok i'll start by answering two of your questions, Jentzer.

i definitely think they have a past what though i'm not sure. i didn't see any connnection between the shooting of the birds and the unsub. that was just to show us that Rossi is different from Gideon. Gideon studied birds Rossi hunts them.

there's definitely some unfinished buisness there. call me strange but i rather like the unfinished buisness storyline. i can't wait til it's more fully explained.

Yes I think Strauss and Rossi are definitely familiar with each other - but it's not clear how friendly that is! :lol: I get the feeling Strauss doesn't have a whole lot of friends at the FBI!

I didn't like the whole episode, I thought the part that they were on the case was rushed and not just because of what Rossi did.
I didn't like Rossi much, but I do think he probably is a great profiler.
Loved the halloween scene! :lol: Somehow I've this idea that Matthew begged to do that :D And I really liked the bonding between the three.

Also loved the part where Reid meets Rossi and he starts to talk that fast and much and Morgan and him afterworths, that was so adorable.

I thought the same thing! :lol: We were seeing Matthew in that scene and not Reid right? (so that wasn't just my imagination!)

I think Rossi is a good profiler too.....he knows what he's doing he's just used to doing it all by himself. Hopefully he will learn to share quickly!

I enjoyed the episode, though there were things I would have done differently. Still, I was okay with it.

I'm glad that Rossi's first case didn't go smoothly. He's vastly different from Gideon, and that could prove interesting. I had to chuckle over his comment about JJ. Rossi recovered well, but Hotch obviously caught on. Rossi's comment may or may not have had sexist overtones, depending upon how one decided to take it; early press releases on the character make it clear that he's old school, though, and has some adjustments to make. It was nice to see Hotch stand up for JJ, but if Rossi is holding onto archaic views about gender, I hope it's the ladies who re-educate him. :D

I find the hints at Rossi's tortured past intriguing. Like Gideon, he's haunted by something, yet his way of handling it is the polar opposite. I'm sure this unknown tragedy will come to light eventually, and it could provide an opportunity for him to bond a bit more with the team. Well, if I were writing for CM... LOL!

I liked the ending scene between Hotch and Rossi. Rossi IS old school, but his comment about learning to share shows us that, given time, he'll do his best to fit in. Sure, there will be some bumps along the way, but bumps make the ride more fun.

The other characters were great, as usual, though I wish we had seen more of them. I wasn't surprised by the focus on Rossi, though; that's common when a new character is added. I am REALLY looking forward to a good scene between Garcia and Rossi; that could be a hoot!

No I wasn't either. I expected it, I just wasn't really happy with the way it was done because I felt like it was hard to really follow what their case was even about and they really didn't tell us much about the unsub or the victims.....just that he felt ignored by everyone.

Hmm...good point! It would have been nice to have seen more backstory on the unsub especially.

And for all of the focus on Rossi, there was still so much that wasn't revealed. Gee, this might drag on as long as Reid's "Is he or isn't he?" drug situation. ;)

Oh......I hope not!! :blink: I can't take it! :lol:

Weird and random thought but does anyone else think the unsub had a slight resemblance to Regis Philbin? :lol:
