Title: "Scared to death" 10/10/07
Description: rate the episode

I love this show! - October 10, 2007 11:57 AM (GMT)
Just getting ready for tonight's episode. We did this a few times last year and I thought it was fun. Let's rate the episode and see what everyone thought. And then let's talk about it!

I love this show! - October 11, 2007 02:08 AM (GMT)
I thought that was just an okay episode. It seemed to me like something was missing (not just Gideon) it was a lack of intensity or something......maybe just because we knew who the unsub was from the start? The unsub was interesting.....creepy, but it was a little boring because I felt like we already knew what he was doing and we were just watching the team figure it out.

At the bottom of the hour after the commercial, it sort of cut in and some of the dialouge was cut out....what was Prentiss saying to Reid? Can anyone tell me?

The elevator thing was pretty funny. Hotch at the end telling Morgan Haley was gone.......but other than that not too many answers to anything.

Did that episode have sort of a weird feeling to anyone else or is that just me?

well i think it fellt weird cause gideon wasnt there..what emily said to reid was for him to re-read the letter that gideon left to him..why did he leave it only to him .... that was where that we knew who the unsub was

CriminalReid - October 11, 2007 04:56 AM (GMT)
ok they need to deal with the P.R.S. Post revelations syndrome. They make subtle references to it but still haven't dealt with the whole of it.

I agree with ILTS .. First of all to me it was totally weird because Gideon wasn't there .. that fact is gonna take a long time for me to get my head around ... 2ndly though .. it wasn't just the fact that he wasn't there .. the whole show did seem off and for the reason she gave ... "we knew who the unsub was from the start The unsub was interesting.....creepy, but it was a little boring because I felt like we already knew what he was doing and we were just watching the team figure it out." That's exactly how it felt to me ... I watched the entire episode more out of loyalty to the show than because I was actually enjoying it ...
I hope future episodes keep my attention and make me think .. the way the past seasons have

I got to thinking that the cast and crew were probably still trying to adjust to Mandy's leaving when they filmed this too. And they're allowed to have a dud once in awhile......sometimes things work how you imagine and sometimes they just don't come out the way you want. But I do hope next week's episode is better.

ac5000 - October 11, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
i thought this episode was alright...not one of the best. the wierd thing is, i hardly even noticed that Gideon wasn't there. i agree with ILTS when she said that it lacked intensity. probably because we knew the unsub from the beginning. but killing people though anxiety?...thats creepy! i thought the whole elevator thing with morgan and reid was pretty darn funny

ILoveReed1988 - October 11, 2007 11:47 PM (GMT)
that was funny..lol...reid kept tellin morgan to push that Button

I love this show! - October 12, 2007 12:52 AM (GMT)
I thought the teasing about the elevator later was the funniest part. Reid saying something about Morgan freaking out and Morgan was like "Me? What about you?" and Reid said something like "that's not what's important" And then later Garcia teasing Morgan about being scared too......pretty funny!

Claire - October 12, 2007 06:40 PM (GMT)
Do we discover something about Hotch and Haley (why is she suddenly live ? or how Hotch react ?) :o

Reid and Morgan was trapped in an elevator ? Poor Reid, i don't think he loves to be stick in a little space, even with Morgan. :)

ILoveReed1988 - October 12, 2007 08:33 PM (GMT)
that was funny..lol..about morgan being scareed...and garcia teasing him..lol!!!!

Garcia44 - October 12, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
The whole elevator thing was funny ... lol .. and didn't Garcia call Morgan a "scaredy cat" .. :P

Hotch only told Morgan that Haley had left and he didn't know if she was coming back.....that is all that was said.

The elevator thing was funny.......Reid and Morgan take the elevator while Hotch walks up the stairs. Then it gets stuck and Morgan's teasing Reid at first by jumping up and down and pushing buttons but then the elevator drops a little which scares them both and finally they get it going. (this was at a victim's apartment house) Then later they ask the landlord if he's noticed anything weird about the victim's behavior and he says she always walked up the stairs and never took the elevator! And then Reid and Morgan are accusing each other of being scared (like they weren't) and they both get teased for it.

ac5000 - October 14, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
i feel bad for Hotch. but i cant say i didn't see it coming. after the season 2 finale, i was telling Rick that i thought that Haley would leave him sooner or later. im also convinced that Haley had been having an affair for a while...we'll see what happens

Luna - October 14, 2007 08:00 AM (GMT)
I loved the elevator scene! First Reid telling Morgan not to move the elevator, then Morgan getting sceared to. (Reid is kinda bossy if he's scared  ) And then when they're finally out Hotch asking them if they're alright and Morgan doesn't answer and is just getting his breath back and Reid:'Let me get back to you on that one'

And the whole teasing afterwarths! :D :D

And I loved the conversation between Reid and Emily, I like them to be like friends.

And I loved the last scene where Hotch convice (after some pushing and profiling) in Morgan about Haley…

The rest…I thought it was a bit rushed maybe, and well between the title and the episode was kinda waiting till they found out that it was different kinds of fear.

I guess that whole scene got cut out for me. (we were having some weather updates that night and I guess they chopped that out when the show came back on. :( )

That's probably the scene I would have liked to have seen the most out of the whole episode! Well.....that's what re-runs are for - I'll get to see it sooner or later.

ILoveReed1988 - October 14, 2007 08:09 PM (GMT)
that conversation was soo great..its like their fianlly becomin friends

There did seem to be something odd about it, but it isn't something I can pinpoint. It could have been the lack of Gideon and all of the unexpressed angst. I think knowing the identity of the killer early on definitely contributed to it as well. I like trying to figure it out on my own.

I wonder if the rewrites had anything to do with it? As I recall, Ed Bernero said that several of the scripts had already been completed when MP announced he wouldn't be returning. Perhaps quality had to be sacrificed to some extent in the scramble to rewrite the scripts.

It was still an enjoyable ep, so I'm happy. :)

Bren (yeah, yeah, I'm a wee bit late...)

Good thought....and maybe you're right. It seemed to me there was something strange about how the story was told. But it didn't seem chopped up like Fear and Loathing.....I can't put my finger on what it was, it just seemed different for some reason. I don't think it was Gideon being gone.

Oh well.....new episode tomorrow - hopefully it will be better! And we still have the entrance of Rossi to look forward to. It will be interesting to see how his character is introduced.

In which episode will Rossi make his debut? I don't recall seeing him in the previews for tomorrow's ep. Next week? The week after? Sometime this season? ;)

Cool! I'll have to make sure I tape it so I can watch it uninterrupted. I'm sure I'll have lots of visits from candy-seeking ghosties and goblins that night. :D

Garcia44 - October 17, 2007 03:07 PM (GMT)
Rossi joins the cast on 10/31 (Halloween here in the states) the episode is titled "About Face" and is the 6th episode of the season.

Somebody jump in and correct me if i'm wrong ... :P

I'm very curious to see how this new character is. I saw an extract on youtube and he seems to have a little problem with the fact that he doesn't work alone (if I have understand something).

ILoveReed1988 - October 20, 2007 04:07 PM (GMT)
it seems like that rossi wants to be like alone guy

I love this show! - October 20, 2007 04:25 PM (GMT)
I'm thinking he might start off that way but will quickly realize there are advantages to having a team (especially when different people bring different strengths and points of view) so he'll get used to it and they'll all work together. (it may just take a few episodes)

Garcia44 - October 20, 2007 06:18 PM (GMT)
Rossi comes from a time when each agent sorta did their own thing ... so I think ILTS is right ... after a few episodes he'll settle in and see that working as a team really is better than going it alone.

I love this show! - October 20, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
I wonder if since the show is on Halloween if the episode will have a Halloween theme to it?

That's a good night for a scary episode huh? It shouldn't take too much to come up with something creepy to fit the atmosphere.

Re-run last night. It was an okay episode. I did get to see the entire scene where Emily is talking to Reid. I thought just a few lines were cut out for me but I really missed a lot in there! I learned a few things, Reid was 10 when his father left, he left a "letter explaining everything" and Reid has blocked out most of the memories of his father. Interesting.

I think my favorite line of the whole episode was when Reid took a little jab at Morgan saying he freaked out in the elevator and then Morgan says "I freaked?" and then I love Reid's line about "that's not important....here's what is:"

Well, now we have two new episodes for the next two weeks. :)
