Title: The Biggest Loser
Garcia44 - September 12, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
So does anybody else watch "The Biggest Loser"? I really enjoy watching the show .. it's just too bad that we all don't have a personal trainer to help us eat right and stay motivated to work out .. My Sister, Mary and I are on the weight loss track .. low impact aerobics, walking and eating a more healthy diet .. she has lost 27 lbs so far .. i've only lost 10 lbs :( .. but hey .. 10 lbs is better than 0 lbs .. lol ...
I hope some more of you guys watch the show so we can talk about who we hope gets voted off and who we want to win or even ways to stay motivated or to eat right or whatever :D
Rach112 - September 12, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
My mum loves that show, actually she just loves reality TV in general! I've seen a few episodes but episode wise here in the UK, we're probably at a totally different point to where you guys in the States are at! Good luck with the weight loss and becoming healthier! :D
ILoveReed1988 - September 12, 2007 07:00 PM (GMT)
i watched some of the first season that was it.....
Garcia44 - September 13, 2007 02:55 PM (GMT)
Thank you very much Rach :D It's all about being healthier for me ... I have arthritis in my knees and it can be quite painful .. i'm sure that the weight loss will be a welcome relief on my poor joints
I don't watch many reality shows ... I watch Biggest Loser and Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding on CMT & occasionally I tune into American Idol, but that's about it for me reality show wise .. :P
ILoveReed1988 - September 13, 2007 03:04 PM (GMT)
i also watch ty murrays celebrity bull riding
Garcia44 - September 13, 2007 04:49 PM (GMT)
I like the Ty Murray show .. I watch now to see who will get hurt this week .. :P
Seriously, I admire the guys for having the nerve to get on one of those massive animals .. a few of the guys have gotten hurt, but the others don't let that stop them from getting back on the bulls .. I admire that
Lord knows i'd never get on one of them ..
ILoveReed1988 - September 13, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)
i could never ride a bull..their is things i wanna try but that aint one of them.>LOL
Rach112 - September 13, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
Riding bulls definitely doesn't appeal to me either!
Garcia44 - I'm sure the weight loss wil help your arthritis a lot :) 10lbs is a great start
Reality TV has taken over my house tonight :P I think it's something called Hell's Kitchen...
ILoveReed1988 - September 13, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
.....ohh i hate that show no offense rach
I love this show! - September 13, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
I like watching "The biggest Loser" Garcia44! It'll be fun to discuss it! :) I like it because it's so inspirational.
So what did you think about the first episode this season? I felt so bad for the ones that weren't picked (but they had already told us Jillian was coming back) but they didn't know that....
Do you even know why Jillian wasn't there last year? I don't like the other trainer Kim as well.....but I'm trying to give her a chance. (it's sort of like learning to accept Emily Prentiss! ) Bob is my favorite though....and I'm thinking I like the blue team better than the red team already. I like Jerry (was that his name? the older guy?)
I think the red team made the right choice to get rid of Amber. Just her attitude of "I'll give 100%" but kind of refusing to say outright she wouldn't quit I think pretty much did her in.
So I wonder how it's going to work when they bring in the black team now. You think all three teams will compete or just one or two of them will join the other teams or something?
Garcia44 - September 13, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
ILTS .. Great to have somebody to talk with about the show .. :D
1st I think they made exactly the right call about who to eliminate .. Amber did have a definite attitude problem .. she shouldn't even have shown up if she wasn't committed to stay the course and give it her all.
I felt really bad for the ones who weren't picked until Jillian showed up and took charge of the Black Team .. that was so cool .. I have no idea why she wasn't there last year and yeah like you, I like her much better than Kim .. just something about her I can't get used to ... lol
I'm so looking forward to seeing how everybody reacts when they walk in and see Jillian and the "rejects" all waiting there for them .. should be a good episode :P I hope they keep all 3 teams and don't just split the black team up and add the members to the blue/red teams.
The show is an inspiration for me too .. it helps keep me motivated .. my Sis and I are trying to slim down a bit and tone up .... I'm keeping a record of all the teams and members and weight loss for each week and i'm taking some nutrition tips as well.
Garcia44 - September 20, 2007 01:47 PM (GMT)
OK .. Biggest Loser is getting really interesting now .. Jillian and the black team showed up and kicked butt by winning this weeks weigh in .. that was so cool ... Kim looked as if somebody had punched her in the stomach when the doors opened and she saw Jillian standing there .. I loved it!! There is just something about Kim that I don't like. Bob seemed really excited to see Jillian back .. that was quite a reunion ..
I thought Amy was gonna double cross Lezlye, but she didn't .. that was cool. That means one more gone from the red team .. they are down to 4 members now
I love this show! - September 22, 2007 02:24 AM (GMT)
I'm not too impressed with Kim either.....(she reminds me of a teacher who doesn't quite have control of the class)
Jillian's okay, she sure knows how to get results but she can be so mean! Bob is the best! I would definitely want him to be my trainer.
I think the red team is voting out the right people. Those girls have major attitudes!!
Good episode.
Garcia44 - September 22, 2007 03:43 PM (GMT)
I have to agree with you about Kim .. she doesn't quite have it down when it comes to being in control ... she wouldn't inspire me to stick to any kind of exercise or eating schedule
Jillian is a task master to say the least .. she's tough almost to the point of being cruel, but she does get results and she definitely has control over her team ...
Bob would be my choice for trainer as well .. he's very motivating and he's so sweet and caring .. knowing that you have someone who truly cares and wants you to succeed goes a long way in helping you to stay motivated
If the red team keeps losing memebers they will soon be non existant .. then it will be blue vs black ... I hope that doesn't happen
Glampire28 - September 23, 2007 02:30 AM (GMT)
I also like this show. It is interesting to see how the teams do each week and how they are handling the diet and exercise program.
Also I liked the way that the red and blue team thought they had gotten rid of the six people who were not picked and then Jillian shows up and they become the black team.
I also am trying to get on the diet and exercise track. I am trying to lose between 15 and 20 pounds. So far I have lost 2 ;-) But hey I'm trying and taking my time.
Have a fun night. B)
Garcia44 - September 23, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
Im happy to hear from someone else who watching Biggest Loser :) Glam .. you're doing the sensable thing .. slow and steady .. that's what my Sister and I are doing .. i'm down 3 more pounds ... so all is well :) I'm also doing low impact aerobics and walking 5 days a week .. that along with my diet change should keep me going down and not gaining :D
ILoveReed1988 - October 3, 2007 04:41 PM (GMT)
i saw last nite on there as i was Flipping through channels that the red team won
I love this show! - October 4, 2007 06:34 AM (GMT)
That kind of made me mad how that worked out. The red team won the challenge so they were safe so matter what they weighed in at - which completely saved them because they SO would have lost last week!
I would be so depressed if I worked that hard all week and ate all the right stuff and only lost two or three pounds and someone else who did the same thing lost four times as much!
I know they go by percentage but I still think it's not entirely fair because men lose weight faster than women - they just do. (that's just so wrong!)
Garcia44 - October 4, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
You're right ILTS .. men do drop weight faster than we do and it's grossly unfair .. but we have to trudge on.
That was so not right that the Red team got immunity .. they lose the weigh in every single week .. that's weird considering they win every single challenge ... and after all the show is about losing weight .. not winning challenges, but hey i'm not running the show .. :P
Something new is coming up next week and i'm wondering if they are gonna try to combine the teams to get back down to 2 or if they are gonna switch member around to different teams or maybe switch trainers to different teams .. Does anybody have any thoughts on that?? <_<
I love this show! - October 4, 2007 10:25 PM (GMT)
I was wondering the same thing. My first thought was they're going to split up one team with each half going to a different team or totally re-pick teams - but then what do they do with the extra trainer? Maybe someone each week gets a personal trainer???
I love this show! - October 17, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
I think it's official.....I really don't like trainer Kim! Did anyone else watch that? First in the gym with that guy.....she's not exactly encouraging when these people are frustrated (I know she gets frustrated too) but cussing at them is a little uncalled for! And then what was up with pretty much telling the red team to vote out Amy and they had to keep Phil? That's just wrong! (and not exactly promoting team work there either!)
And I'm wondering if Phil would have been eliminated if she hadn't said anything. I was sad to see him go, I liked him. But you had to know who the blue team was going to choose as soon as it was a tie. Can't wait to see Kim freak out about that one!
I felt really bad for Hollie. (she had to go home because her mom died)
Garcia44 - October 17, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
I haven't cared for Kim from the start .. she just rubs me the wrong way .. if I was on the show i'd ask to switch teams .. I couldn't work with her.
I was sorry to see Phil go as well, but didn't he do just fine on his own .. he's looking great :)
How devistating for Hollie ... my heart goes out to her.
Next week should be interesting .. I wanna see how they shake everybody up ... I hope they all realize that no matter how much you plot and plan to get rid of somebody .. only 1 person is gonna win in the end.
Glampire28 - October 18, 2007 08:11 PM (GMT)
I think the show is getting really good. It is kinda fun to see the weigh ins and see how well the teams have done. I wish I could do that good. I seem to be losing weight slowly. 1or 2 pounds at the most. But I know I will get there. B)
I love this show! - October 18, 2007 10:52 PM (GMT)
Losing weight slowly is actually the best way to lose weight. (not the way we like it though! :D ) But it's the healthiest and you don't tend to gain the weight back (or as fast) when you lose weight that way.

I think that's the only thing I don't like about the show sometimes is the emphasis on team's winning. I think the team element is important as far as encouraging and supporting each other and I'm sure the money would be nice, but I think the real prize is what these people are learning and the change in their lives. I wish sometimes they would be happier for each other (even when they're on another team) when they have a really good weigh-in just because it's such a huge accomplishment each week. Sometimes I just feel like they aren't allowed to celebrate for the others because it didn't work out to be good for their team and that's such a shame.
I love this show! - October 24, 2007 09:58 PM (GMT)
I'm really rather disappointed in this show this year. What's with all the drama!??! Did they show anything about Kim when she found out that Phil was gone? (I missed that if they did) And then the whole thing with Kim and Amy.....which by the way I think I would have worked with another trainer too. And then Neil pulling his little stunt! I think they should have gotten rid of him - and you know next week it's going to look like he lost a ton!! (but I guess if losing the most at the weigh-in doesn't save you from being voted out it doesn't really matter for him personally but it's going to pretty much guarantee that his team won't be up for elimination - that's just wrong!
That was just making me mad last night......and I ended up missing a bunch of House because of it too!
Garcia44 - October 25, 2007 05:18 PM (GMT)
ILTS .. The drama with Amy/Kim is really getting to me .. to the point that I watch House and just check in with Biggest Loser during commercial breaks. These 2 have been clashing from day one and it's way beyond Old for me. Somebody needs to step in and do something about that .. it's turning into a Spinger episode .. will there be actually fighting after all the shouting and crying?!?!?
I couldn't believe how the voting went this week .. something is seriously wrong with these people.
I wasn't surprised to see the teams split .. I said weeks ago I thought that might happen or that they might switch trainers and it seems that both have happened. I say keep Bob and Jillian and cut Kim loose.
Glampire28 - October 26, 2007 09:28 PM (GMT)
Garcia44, I didn't catch the whole episode this week. I watched the weigh ins toward the end. And that was a real shock. How did that guy gain 17 pounds??? If I did that I would be beyond mad at myself. and actually I have lost another 2 pounds so I am still doing good,
ttyl :)
I love this show! - October 26, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
Good job on the weight loss!
He drank two gallons of water before the weigh in. I didn't really understand his reasoning.....but he said "it wasn't supposed to be that obvious."
I don't understand why the other teams didn't vote to eliminate him.
Garcia44 - October 27, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
Congrats! Glam .. slow and steady wins the race .. we just gotta hang in there :D
ILTS .. I sware I think some of these people try to sabotage themselves and others pay for it ... He gains 17 lbs and somebody else gets the boot ... something isn't right.
I love this show! - October 27, 2007 01:57 AM (GMT)
Did you get why he did that? Why was he so confident that he wouldn't get voted out? (because there were more blue team members left?) Everyone kept saying they thought the girl was the one who would get voted out but I didn't even understand why they thought that......and then it was the other guy who was the one that did get voted out. (they just thought someone from the black team would be the one to go????)
Well....I don't think he made any friends and it's not right that someone else had to go home last week and next week he and his team will be safe.
Garcia44 - October 27, 2007 01:27 PM (GMT)
No, I didn't get why he did it .. i'm gonna search NBC and see if they have last weeks show online so I can watch it .. I was flipping back and forth between it and House and missed that.
I'm telling you the more I watch this show the more confusing it's getting to me. I'm seriously thinking about just watching House and forgetting all about Biggest Loser.
