Okay, me and my dad were having a little discussion last night. My dad said the only problem with the show was that 'it's exciting but none of the characters seemed very real'. I was hotly debating this.

So my dad answered "Yeah - but can you picture any of them brushing their teeth or dancing with somebody?"

So my challenge is...to prove my dad wrong. Write a fic or ficlet in which one of the team wins/buys/is given dancing lessons and takes another member of the team along with them. It doesn't have to be shippy if you don't want and it can be any style of dance. :)

Well, this is going to suck, but why not?


So Garcia is looking to learn some type of dance.. So she goes to the local Y, and signs up for Hip Hop dances. She goes one day, and loves it, but the guide said "next week, bring a friend."

Of course Garcia's friend is Reid! She gives him a call up.

"hip hop till you don't stop. hey Reid"

"hey garcia, what's up?"

"not much, i'm just practicing for my dance lessons. I am supposed to bring a 'partner' next week. I was wodering if you'd like to go?"

"haha, me, dancing?"

"oh please, we would have fun!"

"well, i guess i can go."

"hahaha, that's the spirit! meet me tomorrow, 6 o'clock sharp at the Y on 15th and Madison.. all right now, bye!"

So 6:00 comes, and Garica is waiting on Reid. Surprisingly enough, he shows up!

"you're here! let's go in and dance it up!"

"so what kinds of music are we dancing to?"

"hip hop!"

"oh geeze.. i thought it would be classical"


So they go in, and dance, and Reid and Garcia feel closer together. Hmm, I think someone's in love.


*-* LMAO, that is the first and only fanfic i'm writing, lol, and it sucks! Yeah though, i thought i would try, lmao *-*

I just re-read that after seeing Michael Buble's video for save the last dance (now I know it isn't hip hop, but I could sooo see Reid and Garcia in a dance class situation)... I thought it was entertaining.

First chapter's up...wee!

I read it - fantastic! The beginning was very in character for the whole team and the Rumba is the dance of lurve! Can't wait for more.

And -- in very un-Gideon-like fashion -- he's not going to research the dance.

And the team will be giggling about it behind his back!

That's why they're all going to be laughing behind his back...Because Reid (and maybe Elle, too) looked it up and told everyone secretly, and they're cracking up because they can't imagine Gideon doing something so sexy and passion-filled.

This is a link to a popular show called Strictly Come Dancing - basically 10 non-dancing celebrities are paired with 10 ballroom professionals and one get's voted out each week. If you click the link on the top right hand corner of that page that says "Watch Video" a box comes up with loads of samples of the shows dances. If you select "eighth show" and "Colin and Erin's" - it'll come up with their Rumba.

I had read somewhere...sometime not sure, that Lola Glaudini is a trained dancer (that almost sounds like she is a bear, and someone taught her to dance around....anyhow you know what i mean) ballet jazz flamenco, so very much agreeing with
