Title: Weaknesses
LeucaBleu - July 4, 2007 02:07 AM (GMT)
What--in your opinion--are the weaknesses of each character? What sort of traits could an unsub use to bring each character down?
~)~
Here's a list that someone came up with while Elle was still around...hopefully it will help you think of more.
- Gideon: No clear weakness
- Hotchner: His wife and son
- Morgan: Beautiful women
- Greenaway: Losing control of a situation
- Jareau: Her good looks (nothing has ever lead us to believe that she's vain, but it's possible)
- Reid: No clear weakness (his intelligence? his mother?)
As you can see, Garcia wasn't included in the original list, but if you can come up with weaknesses for her, then that's even better.

ooohhhh.....very interesting question! I like it! I'll have to give this one some thought! <_<
Gideon - attacks on people he cares about. Family, friends, co-workers, children. (his agents that got killed under his orders almost gave him a breakdown.)
Hotch - family, threats against his wife and son or psychological against him - making him think he isn't a good father (and he seemed quite bothered at the thought of not being a good boss.) He was also disturbed at the thought of not being a good role model for Reid.
Morgan - women. Family (particualrly his mother) and he seemed a little insecure in the beginning when they were going after a bomber and working with Gideon who he thought might be a little unstable. I think any situation where he feels out of control would bother him. He is the strongest physically so if he were limited in what he could physically do...
Prentiss - hmmm........she seems a bit insecure about personal relationships. We might be able to answer better about her after we see what happens in season three.
Elle - she was impulsive and impatient so like Morgan, situations where she was out of control would bother her. Also she always wanted to prove she was one of the "guys" and could do anything they could do.
Reid - anything that would take him out of his element. He is very insecure but he's most confident when he at least has answers. If he's given anything he can't figure out or the info he's got doesn't add up or make sense it throws him off. He doesn't deal well with anything that makes him deal with emotions (his mother or knowing how to deal with a girl he thinks is pretty) I think confronting his past is very hard for him to deal with.......(he's a mess isn't he? :) ) He seems pretty competitive. He's not good at telling lies. To sum it up anything that would make him feel insecure.
J.J. - The only thing I can think of for her is fighting herself and her own demons. Something about her growing up in that small town and for some reason she really, really wanted out but we don't know what that was. She seemed to really feel she had to prove to herself she was strong enough to watch the videos in Revelations so I think her weakness is she doubts herself.
Garcia - Friends. I think her biggest fear is watching horrible things happen to people she cares about. Possibly she felt she wasn't living up to her parents expectations (made a comment about not getting into medical school) Maybe she would be sensitive about her looks (she is very fashion conscious) And of course if her computer skills were challenged or bested that would really throw her off.

I think Garcia's weakness could be her thing for Morgan

Thanks, ILTS! You had some very in-depth and well-though-out ideas, there.
Now, if I can get some more replies like yours, we'll be in business...

I could go on for days talking about this show and these characters....I love it! :D

I think Reid just lacks "life experience". (and I know for enforcement agencies, that is an important factor when hiring).

Do you think more "life experience" would take away his awkwardness or do you think he will always feel a little different just because he is. He doesn't think the way other people do and his whole childhood was different than most people experience - do you think a person could overcome that or it would always have an effect? He would still always have to deal with being slightly autistic and possibly have a tendancy towards schizophrenia (or at least the fear of it.)

I think that after a few years at the Bureau he might feel a little more "at home in his skin", but I also think that you could be right, ILTS--that he may always seem a little awkward.

Just reviving some old threads here....
So what do we think Rossi's weakness might be? Other than he seems obsessed with an old case (presumably unsolved) he doesn't really project any weaknesses. Any thoughts?
Maybe that is his weakness - that he doesn't think he has a weakness. Or maybe his faith (since he seems to be the only one who truly claims to have religion, although Morgan is dealing with that.) Not that I think faith in God is a weakness (HA! that's funny coming from me! ) but I'm just wondering if he could come across a moral crisis of some type that would make him choose something that the rest of the team would see as a problem.
Oh wait, he does have a weakness, he doesn't like to work with the rest of the team.

Definetly agree with you in that sense Pam. In 'FKp1' we saw her get really anxious when the UnSub hacked into her computor. Also, in the episode where the team went to Guantanimo (sp?) Bay, and she thought Morgan had been blown up...She realy struggled with that.
I also think she wants to be...respected? I don't think that's the right word, but I think she may want to be one of the team. In 'Blood Hungry' she seemed to wnat to prove something to Gideon-a la 'No, I'm a big girl, I can take it'.
Also, she seems ansgty of her space. When Elle put the coffee cup near her computor, when Gideon was working out of her office, etc.
I shall have to give the others a thought, but this is an aweosme topic. It's like profiling teh team! :D

Hm…I think weaknesses and strenght are pretty close together.
CalleighElleDakota - December 4, 2007 07:07 PM (GMT)
I think one other weakness of Elle is the fact that she feels guilty for arguing with her dad before he died.
And well, concerning Hotch I think his past is still hunting him...

i think that family is both Hotch and JJ's weaknesses. Hotch's "family" issue is probably his biggest thing and we know that JJ thinks of the team as her "family". If something happened to one of them we don't know what would happen to her.
