Title: Season Three
Description: will she or won't she
Special Agent Jentzer - June 29, 2007 04:35 AM (GMT)
season premier
"in name and blood"
So the spoilers and rumors are out there....are we all ready!!
Will Prentiss fold?? I don't think so.....
Perhaps this thread is a bit early but sounds like cast and crew are gearing up for season three, early part of July!!
sooner not later!
I love this show! - June 29, 2007 11:35 AM (GMT)
YEAH! :D
*possible spoiler*
I've already heard some rumors and it sounds interesting! What I heard is the story is something about a guy that uses his kid to lure women. As far as stuff in the BAU, I got the impression that Hotch is on leave (I don't know if that means that's his idea or not) and I guess Strauss is supposedly in charge for the time being. Of course things could always change......remember how we got a little carried away with Reid's "rival" Ethan? Okay so that didn't turn out anything like what the spoilers led us to believe but personally I think it's fun to read the spoilers. Gives us a small bone to chew on while we impatiently wait for new episodes. I can't wait!!!! :D
CriminalMindsFan - June 29, 2007 05:22 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Jill's blog said that someone was leaving the show in Season 3 but would say if it was from the cast or crew so hopefully it's crew. Wonder what it will be like with Hotch gone? That'd be weird. That thing about the kid sounds just horrible but then again it is Criminal Minds. :D

Well the debate will always continue as too the reliability of spoilers, gossip, half truths, sides and anything else related to the Internet.
I believe we are all grown ups, and what we usually post on this site is found from fairly reliable sources....and sometimes, well its seems to be from outer space.....but is it worth it??
I say "you bet"......so anybody who has heard something, knows a friend who has a neighbor who saw a script.....fill in the blanks.....the topic says spoilers, so if you don't care to know, stop reading.
We tend to keep it positive and we keep it real, thats what makes this sight so great!!
So bring it on....season three spoilers anyone....
LeucaBleu - June 29, 2007 08:53 PM (GMT)
So they must be taking a short break in the fall or something, if Mandy's concert is 9/29...

Maybe you and I are alone here Jentzer.....
I think for those of us who like something to think about - if it makes it into the show or not who cares? It's kind of like FanFic - the ideas and stories may or may not be what happens on the show but it's fun to think about. And I think it keeps interest in the show alive while they are on break. And for those who don't like spoilers....then don't read them......I don't think it does any harm to the show in any way.

Oh lord, I was having a flash back to my horrible summer of 2006 when I heard Lola Glaudini was off the show.......I hope for all of you it is a crew member...like the security guard on lot 6, special vehicles entrance.....or even someone from lighting or make up........but no cast......I'm putting my foot down.

and that was from TV Guide or from a CBS press release, so I figure we can make up stuff, report sides and rumors, CBS will again throw us a rib bone, add a twist, cutting room floor etc. and season three will be here in no time.
I heard Mandy takes all weekends off?? Specifically to due concerts...
How many More Days...
When can I start my "bring sexy back for a guest shot" campaign!

I love this show! - July 15, 2007 04:55 PM (GMT)
well.....so now what?
I don't think they will have any trouble writing Gideon out of the show. And the cast is strong enough to carry on without him IMHO (but he will be missed!) But how do you think this will change where they go in season three? I guess we'll never find out now about his son or the wedding rings.
Do you think it will affect the storyline they left us with at the end of season two with not knowing what was going to happen with Hotch and Emily? Gideon retiring or whatever will sure add to the chaos.
What do you think they will do with the Doubt episode now? (I think rather than try to edit they should just run it as it was originally done and just show a message in the beginning why it isn't in sequence.)
Do you think they will get another "boss" in there or it will be up to Hotch to lead the team by himself now? I can't see Morgan, Emily or Reid getting a promotion to take his place.
What kind of character will they bring in to replace him? Another rookie on the team? <_<
There are a lot of questions to be answered now.
***<Marta>*** - July 15, 2007 05:40 PM (GMT)
I agree with you!...
What will happen now?
Rach112 - July 16, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
I don't think they'll replace him with another rookie but I certianly agree that his leaving could and probablw will have a big imapct on the Emily/Hotch situation.
For me, Gideon was often kinda the backbone of the team. I loved his relationship with both Hotch and Reid and it's gonna be sad not seeng that anymore :( And I guess we'll never get all our questions about his character answered now...
Does anyone know if the rumours are true about there not being many scenes for Mandy in season 3 anyways? Different sites are saying so many different thing right now.
I just wanna know where it all goes from here!
sandersidle - July 16, 2007 09:44 PM (GMT)
I really want to know what they're doing with Doubt. I was totally excited to see it. And like everyone else... I want to know what happens now?
I love this show! - July 16, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
I wonder if they'll bring in another "boss" from a different division or something. I can't see them bringing in another rookie. Hotch technically is the real boss - he is the unit chief but I believe Gideon's title used to be unit chief as well and that was why they ran the team together even though officially Hotch was the leader. It just seems like Hotch would need some help in some ways (when they split up into different groups) and just to discuss things. If there is no one else in the leadership role besides him I think we'll miss the opportunity for a lot of dialog from his perspective. They really sort of need somebody else for him to have conversations with.
I'm going to try and keep an open mind. I had a lot of trouble with Prentiss but she's getting better. I will always miss Gideon but as long as they don't try to replace him with another character just like him, I'll try my best to like the new character. I think what I will miss the most is the father/son scenes with Reid!
ac5000 - July 16, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
One good thing about mandy leaving is that we now know that neither Hotch nor Prentiss is leaving. Im thinking that they're just going to bring in another rookie. They can't keep doing this though, otherwise the show isn't going to last.

I thought Jacki Garfinkel's Confessions of a TV Maven
had some great thoughts....here is a snipit of her article:
| QUOTE |
As I wrote last March, you need to watch Criminal Minds. Going into its third season, Criminal Minds has consistently been growing stronger. It's the kind of show that gets under your skin - in the best and creepiest way possible - but also has you loving the characters and caring what happens to them.
That's why the absence of a main character like Mandy Patinkin is leaving so many question marks circling Criminal Minds.
At the beginning of the second season, Lola Glaudini, who played Elle Greenaway, left the show and was replaced by Paget Brewster's character, Emily Prentiss. It's safe to say that most fans (myself included) were devastated at the loss of Greenaway, and therefore took a long time in warming up to Prentiss. Now, though, Prentiss has become an integral part of the Criminal Minds team, proved herself to the viewers, and in return has gotten fans to rally around her.
Will the same happen with Mandy Patinkin's replacement? Will we be able to love that new character?
It may be harder in this instance, as Patinkin's character, Jason Gideon, is the role model on the show. He's the one that the other characters look up to. Thus, as fans, we looked up to him as well. In essence, the fans are also losing their mentor with Patinkin's departure. Patinkin himself, with his lengthy acting experience and impressive resume, is also a superstar to the cast. As Kirsten Vangsness, who plays Penelope Garcia, once said to me, "When you act with Mandy, you just rise to the occasion."
Can we - the fans, the BAU team, and the cast - bounce back?
I'm going to say yes. |
Here is the rest of a great article!!!

Maybe it would be a flashback to the pre-stress "stressor"....I'm thinking that the whole him leaving will centre around his girlfriends death.....we have not yet had to consider, Gideon going off the deep end????

I agree totally there. Hotch needs someone to be his equal and I think most CM fans enjoyed the Reid/Gideon relationship.
I have no idea how I want Gideon to be written out of the show but I hope they do his character justice. I'm not sure I'd enjoy him going off the deep end...
CriminalMindsFan - July 17, 2007 04:42 PM (GMT)
I say they just bring back Lola in place of Gideon. :D

That could be an interesting way to use the Doubt episode. But I would still like to see the episode in it's original form. (not that I want to wait for a season 3 DVD to get to see it) but since it seems it's too late to make Season 2 DVD and with everything else that has happened they may really have to chop it up now for it to make sense. (they may only have ten minutes of usable footage left)
I hope they choose a good way to have Gideon leaving too. I don't want to see him in the sanitarium with Reid's mom.

Rach112 - July 18, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)
Just another 69 days of speculation to go through :D Thank goodness for the internet, I can't imagine having to wait till February to see season 3 over here!
I love this show! - July 18, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
I would be so out of the loop if it weren't for this site. I don't really follow entertainment news. I'd be sitting there in September watching a new episode and thinking "Where's Gideon?"
69 days does still sound like a very long time.....to me. Now the writers are probably thinking "only sixty-nine days?!!" :)
I love this show! - July 19, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
Okay...so I was giving it some thought. How might they deal with the storyline of Gideon leaving? I think the biggest problem is how they left off with season two. How can they mix where we already were with where we will be now without Gideon, especially if he will not be back for another episode to help them wrap it up. (this is totally specualtion and more than likely just my crazy rambling.) :P
They can't make his leaving too complicated of a story, especially if he won't be in the episode. While I'd like it to be more interesting and original I'm afraid they will probably go with one of two old standbys - either he died in some accident or he has retired. (I'm going to guess losing Sarah was too much for him and he will have retired.)
More interesting is where does this leave Hotch and Emily? If things were falling apart at the BAU and Strauss is trying to get Hotch fired and blackmailing Emily to help....and now Gideon is gone.....maybe they can spin it so it all works. It does happen in real life that sometimes when you think everything is a mess and it can't get any worse....it does! Maybe Hotch voluntarily takes a "leave" and without Gideon around Strauss realizes how much she really needs Hotch now. Or Hotch is put on leave and then the news comes in that Gideon won't be there and Hotch has to come back (under his terms - and this would get Emily off the hook too.)
I don't know how it will work but I have faith that the writers will come up with something clever and make it work. It may not be ideal but they will find a way to incorporate it all. I still say eventually they will need another "leader" of some kind to work with Hotch but I hope they don't rush to replace Gideon too fast. I really do think the rest of the cast could carry the show for a long time without anyone else and I think it would be for the best in the long run if they take their time and wait for the best opportunity in the scripts to introduce us to someone new.
Just my thoughts! :)
Rach112 - July 31, 2007 08:09 PM (GMT)
After everything Gideon's been through I think having him retire would be a bit of a let down but I guess simple is all they can do now.
I'm looking forward to the focus on Emily next season. They can't have her being evil to Hotch, we've only just started to like her! It's gonna be interesting to see how she handles the situation. With everything so messy at the BAU though, I'm hoping for a happy ending though
In the meantime, I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Strauss. I wonder what her plan is...and how the hell is Emily gonna face Hotch knowing what she's been asked to do?
Special Agent Jentzer - July 31, 2007 08:20 PM (GMT)
I think they had better drop (and VERY QUICKLY I might add) this whole "emily the spy" story line, especially if they want to add a new character.....
I'm not sure I (me :canada: B) ) can put up with so much drama!!
........only because Gideon has left.......does this make sense??
Rach112 - August 2, 2007 01:03 PM (GMT)
Makes perfect sense! Maybe with Mandy leaving they'll minimize that storyline...And if they don't then there's gonna be some major drama to deal with! How much more can we take? ;)
CriminalMind - August 2, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
*sigh* And just when I was starting to like Emily too. They better minimize the storyline, I can only see trouble ahead, and if Hotch gets booted because of it...Jemma's not gonna be happy! ;) *cries*
Special Agent Jentzer - August 2, 2007 06:32 PM (GMT)
I think everyone is "safe" so to speak....well Strauss can be leaving ASAP......which I think will happen.
I think everything the writers "had planned" for this season would have been re-written???
I'm still wanting to see the premiere, then air "doubt", as the final straw in gideons goodbye.....then get on with it......NO new guy either!!
Hotch is VITAL!!!! (no not just to jemma!! but to the whole team!!)
I don't understand why dr spencer reid does not get more press????
He seems to have such a large folllowing......
:canada:
Rach112 - August 2, 2007 06:56 PM (GMT)
I definitely think a lot of what was planned for season 3 would have been changed when Mandy left. I guess they are replacing him just like they would replace an agent in real life...I'm pretty sure all the other characters are safe though, losing another one would be a killer! Especially if it was Hotch who had to go...I think I might stop watching.
I wonder if they're gonna provide some closure on the whole Reid/drugs storyline...

Exactly, they should do all that they can to make it a really good send-off for him... ILTS, please return soon with your countdown, I've lost track of how long we have left to wait now till it starts up again!
I wonder what they have in store for our characters this time around...ooo, it's exciting! :D I think they should get the Reid/drugs thing out of the way pretty quickly.

I think all the rest of the cast is vital right now because if we lose anyone else......I think the show could be in serious trouble! People don't like change and we've had too many.
The writers have a lot of loose ends to tie up now. I hope they address them all and not let some of the stories be left in limbo for eterinity (we don't forget!) I'm already depressed we won't get any more answers about Gideon. He was such a mysterious character and I wanted to learn more about him.
And I really hope there is a happy ending out there too.....the BAU team has already been through so much. Can you imagine what Gideon dying could do to Reid?
ac5000 - August 7, 2007 02:41 AM (GMT)
as long as Gideon doesn't retire or quit, im good. We've already lost elle to quitting and i just cant see Gideon doing it after he's fought so hard to prove that he's fine after his "breakdown"

So....there should be seven weeks and one day left until S3 Premiere! :o It sounds like so long
I love this show! - August 7, 2007 11:43 PM (GMT)
I had an interesting thought today.....what if they write Gideon out by making him the scapegoat. Instead of Hotch or Emily getting in trouble for the team being "out of control" they somehow spin it so Gideon gets the blame and that leads to him leaving. In the pilot they were trying to decide if he was fit to be in the field anymore...maybe Strauss decides he shouldn't be working outside the office anymore.
