Title: What do you think about Prentiss?
Description: No Way Out II **Spoilers**

Ok, I had to start it. What do you think Prentiss and/or Hotch is gonna do. I personally think that the team will figure out what Prentiss is doing and they're gonna take her down. What did the lady want her to do anyway, make Hotch slip up?

I have a feeling this will be a hot topic through the long summer. :D

I think I need to think about it and watch the episode again before I can throw out any theories. Very interesting though....... <_<

At least I can handle this type of teaser.....we're not wondering if someone is dead or anything!

She better not bend!

If she's loyal, she'll resign!

ac5000 - May 18, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
but i'd hate to lose either of them. Ive sorta grown to accept Prentiss as part of the team and Hotch is Hotch. Hopefully they'll find a way to keep both. Besides, i doubt the writers are going to write another person off at the end of the season.

I think it's going to come down to if Prentiss really believes what she said to Hotch when she first came there about hating politiking, because that's what that woman is doing.
Although, it does provide ample opportunities for character development for her, which I think the writers have been looking for since she got on, especially with the large negative response against her. She might become the woman that we just love to hate.

I've thought about that, and while that's always interesting I really hope they don't go that way with this show because I like it when they all get along as a team and are like a "family"

Is it my imagination or did I read somewhere that season two was where they were focusing on "characters" and season three is going to be more....how the job affects them? If that's the case this might not be answered in the first episode or two. Look how long they've dragged out the question of if Reid is using drugs. Maybe this is a set up for a theme for the whole season.

I think they're going to try and make us like Emily. (I don't think either of them are leaving the show)

**disclaimer - my opinion is subject to change at any time! :)

I think Emily will find a ton of reasons to give the 'lady' that makes Hotch the perfect person for the job and that the 'lady' is so wrong. I do not think Emily will betray her team. She has worked too hard to fit in.

Luna - May 31, 2007 10:14 AM (GMT)
I don't think Emily would betray Hotch, she tries so hard to be liked, if she does this the others will find out and that would make her career very hard… I think that the career of that 'lady' (who I really dislike, and I dislike the fact she favours her son, cause my mother does that to) is going for a change :P
I don't think they can afford cutting again someone out of the team.

tangledsphere - June 3, 2007 02:50 PM (GMT)
I think I'm going to enjoy seeing Emily struggle with this. She is so glad to be there and yet, now she's being blackmailed into betraying her leader.

I wonder how she feels about recent events. Hotch did take matters into his own hands when Frank came back. I wonder how Emily felt about 'not going by the book?'

Her co-workers are so passionate about what they do. I think the writers are going to make her betray Hotch, because that would be very interesting and then have her come to regret it.

She, like Reid is kind of awkward socially, (liked her 'I'm a nerd' statements to Morgan) and that endears me to her. But she is going to have to face some difficult decisions!

interesting.....so you think (since we haven't heard Thomas Gibson is leaving the show) that he will be gone or just demoted or something? I think you're the first one I've seen who thinks Emily will go along with the plan. I kind of get the feeling the writers do want to use her character to mix things up a little bit but I can't think of a scenario where she can do that but have Hotch still in the picture. (and like I said...I think we would have heard rumors if he's leaving the show... but you never know.) I can't see him staying with the team but just stepping down....his character has always been driven to want to be FBI director.

So if Hotch is fired, for whatever reason...do you think someone else on the team would be promoted to unit chief or do you think someone totally new would step in to be team leader. Would they give it to Gideon? Oh....what if they made Emily team leader???? How would that go over!?!? <_<

tangledsphere - June 3, 2007 04:07 PM (GMT)
Great questions!

What I think will happen is that Emily will do as told, Hotch will be on the verge of being fired and she will come clean. Some way at the last minute they team will find away to save his job that hangs on the thread. (You can tell I don't want him to leave, lol)

I like your idea of Emily being in charge! Only that it would be an interesting storyline (And only if they plan on kicking her off.) But I really hope they don't do that, and try to flesh her character out more instead. I could see them making her a power hungry monster if they wanted to. :(

I love this show! - June 3, 2007 04:17 PM (GMT)
I could definitely see her as a power hungry, control-freak if they really wanted to make her character evil to keep things interesting. I don't think that's what will happen because I really can't see Hotch staying with the team if that happened.

I can see her giving in to Strauss and going along with the plan (just being pressured to do that....) but I can't decide how that would end. Unless Hotch finds a way to keep his job (gets some dirt on Strauss and threatens her back or something) and Hotch stays in charge and then Emily will have to deal with being on a team with a supervisor that knows she went along with the plan to try and get him fired. There would always be an interesting tension between them then.

And I'm still curious to know how they are going to end this with Reid. If the drug thing is pretty much over, I still think they're going to have to address it some way to wrap it up. I'm curious to know how they will have Reid get along with Emily now. Even with his little attitude everyone else seems pretty cool with him but Emily is the one who has been calling him out on his behavior so there's been some tension between them.....just wondering if that will just go away without any explanation or there will always be a barrier between them.

tangledsphere - June 3, 2007 06:15 PM (GMT)
I think Reid is going to decline more in the next season.

With his drug usage, don't you need more and more to achieve the same effect? (Sorry, I think he's using.) :( He's been steady lately, remember the episodes right after Revelations?

He was off balance! Noises were bothering him.

And then....just melancholy. I'm thinking he gave into the cravings and that's why he has been more 'balanced.' But how will he continue? How will he be able to get more drugs without being noticed?

I have a feeling Morgan is on to him, but doesn't realize how serious the problem truly is. Emily is just baffled and I think everyone else, including Gideon writes it off as PTSD.

Something will happen to open their eyes. I just can't think of what that will be. But I hope the writers continue this storyline. It's very interesting.

It may even be fodder for Hotch losing his job? Not seeing one of his own using and troubled. I hope not!

I'm really surprised they didn't wrap this storyline up by the end of the season. (I'm still thinking about Reid) They can't just let it go the way it is without giving us an ending to it in some way. Either he's on drugs and he's going to end up in rehab (I'm still in denial! :) I don't want Reid on drugs!.....I'm going to have to revert back to my "Save Reid campaign") or it is PTSD but eventually the writers will have to answer that question for us one way or the other won't they?

Well if season three is supposed to deal with how the job affects each of them.....they could still drag that one on forever! :(

Changing subjects....they also hinted at some marriage problems for Hotch. Maybe that will play into if he stays as team leader or not. Maybe he will step down to spend more time with his family or something.

It's hard to guess how the job affects Emily because we really don't know anything about her.

tangledsphere - June 3, 2007 06:57 PM (GMT)
We need to help this boy! YAY! I want to call Gideon now!

Hotch's marriage is so centering to him and it's one of the things I like about his character. I hope they don't do that to him. But I could see how this stressful job would wear down a marriage, darn it.

What I think I know of Emily: Let me know if I'm wrong. She has an overbearing mother, strives hard to succeed. Is single and dating (though not very successfully) and lives her job?

I wonder what happened to her to want to go into this business? Something personal or just an interest? How will she react under this added stress of having to bring Hotch down to keep her job? That will be interesting to see.

Yep! And that's about all we know of her too. We know she grew up living in different countries (the Middle East and we're guessing the Ukraine) We had tried to throw around some ideas in another thread at one time about what we thought would motivate her to want to be in the BAU. But since we don't really know much about her and her past it's hard to guess what she will do in the future. She told her mother she wanted to be in the BAU but it was difficult.....exactly how badly does she want this job and why? We know she doesn't express much emotion (she "compartmentalizes better than most" I believe was her quote)

It's hard to even guess if she will give into the pressure by Strauss because she is Hotch's supervisor and she got her the job. So will she feel more loyal to her or to the rest of the team that she's worked with and has gotten to know. Maybe that's why she's resisted getting too close to them.......hmmmm........ <_<

tangledsphere - June 3, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
hmmmm....good point! I wonder if that is exactly why she 'compartmentalizes' so well??? But maybe she is really starting to like the team?

She seemed unsure that one scene she had with Morgan, and then she revealed some of her personal life and found they had a similar interest. Will she start to come around? I'm sure this job is affecting her more than her stony facade lets on!

It, that filled the void Elle left a gap perfect. I have to admit it. I did not like the girl initially, but I took a liking to it with time.
According to me very clever, apt and beautiful woman. Seeing somebody beside it would be good. an beautiful, generous, honest, devoted and loyal man.
