Title: Honor Among Thieves
Description: 4/11 **Spoilers**

CriminalMindsFan - April 11, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
I so can't wait for tonights episode so I read a ton of spoilers and I need to share them. This will be an exciting night. :P We get to meet Prentiss's mom for the first time.

**Sidenote** Does anyone else notice that in the promo on TV Prentiss's mom looks really dark and evil. Maybe she could be the unsub.

**Sidenote2** Why is it called Honor Among Thieves if it's about a kidnapping and killing? Maybe Prentiss and her mom are both thieves. :o

Ok, enough of my Prentiss's mom theries (although they're true :D in my mind at least). Time to get down to the spoilers. Here's the one from cbs.com:

QUOTE
While searching for the kidnapped man, whose captors are sending the victim's body parts to the family demand of the ransom, the BAU team uncovers ties to the Russian mob who live by a strict code of conduct. Kate Jackson guest stars as Emily Prentiss's mother.

and from Tv.com

QUOTE
Elizabeth Prentiss, a foreign ambassador and SSA Emily Prentiss' mother, seeks the aid of the BAU when a Russian immigrant is kidnapped and held for ransom.

It sounds great. Just 3 more hours for me. :D

user posted imageWell my whole thought process of watching "Criminal Minds" on the big screen tv has been kyboshed as I have been told in no uncertain terms the cable box and the big screen are reserved for the NHL Hockey Playoffs. So in order not to peak or ruin the show I sadly....sad panda.... :( must either some how crawl onto the roof and redirect the cable cords or wait until 10:00 pm MST....most of you will have gone to bed.......oh well, I guess hockey it is, for now....I'm sure the bar on the corner has hockey.....maybe they will let me watch Criminal Minds.... :ph43r: hmm

What NHL Hockey Means to my family and room mates:
"I have four sisters, they are all named Wayne", I am Canadian, I am Hockey

I know this is kind of off-topic, but in real life, there are not that many supervisory special agents in a unit. In fact, there is only supposed to be one. Having a unit made up completely of SSAs is beyond "realistic fiction".

I love this show! - April 12, 2007 12:43 AM (GMT)
I'm sure they wouldn't be the ones running after the bad guys with guns either....they'd leave that up to the police and SWAT teams but it wouldn't be nearly as fun to see some guy sitting at a desk the whole time with a mound of paperwork. :D

*spoiler*

No thoughts yet about the new episode? I need to watch it again - I was a little confused about the story. (I kept being distracted so I didn't get to focus like I wanted to.) So the guy who was holding the father hostage was the "mob boss's" son? And the daughter was actually responsible for him being taken because she wanted the money to "have a life" that she didn't get at home? What was in the bags they were throwing over the bridge at the end?

Reid seemed very normal....no hint of drug use (I just can't imagine we've heard the end of that)

Emily's relationship with her mom wasn't what I expected at all - maybe that's why Emily is so cold and unemotional is because her mother is like that too. (Does Emily need therapy for an unhappy childhood? - Maybe she and Reid can attend some together)

But it was a good episode.

CriminalReid - April 12, 2007 03:10 AM (GMT)
I just can't believe they seem to be dropping this whole Reid drug thing, so very disappointing.

Can the lady who has the scripts and visitef the set at least say if it is over or not?
no details necessary, just a yes or no

I am dying here....slow painful death

see above, must move to a different time zone............... :ph43r:

Although I dont live close or anywhere near the East River...would Tony Soprano refer to that as "swimming with the fishes"..... B) or is that more russian terminology

(If someone is swimming with the fishes, they are dead, especially if they have been murdered. 'Sleep with the fishes' is an alternative form....I think it was the girl, her boyfriend, and the little skinny guy)

That was a bit of a different episode......

Did Emily touch, embrace, pat on the back, shake hands, or have a little peck on the cheek for mommy......?

Best line from garcia to dr spencer reid "jr g-man" however, her phone answer was hmmm, not quite as subtle as we are used to......love the "crimped look" though

still not sure about the episode...have to regroup.

(Not the same guest as above, ftr)

The episode was fine. But I am really annoyed with how they are downplaying or ignoring the Reid/drug thing. If they are trying to hold it off for some big to-do in the season finale, well  The lack of continuity is maddening.

Am I the only one who, when Elizabeth said that she couldn't do any more to help, thought, "Just call Charlie!" ? :D

I was disappointed with the episode as well...not the same caliber as I'm used to...

Actually, it felt a little like CM had switched stories with CSI: NY.

Special Agent Jentzer - April 13, 2007 12:23 AM (GMT)
JJ ;) bang bang

So I saw these fbi'ish boys at work today and I thought......If "our team" including six "supervisory special agents" and a "doctor" are all able to commit to a hostage situation because someones mom needs help.....how do the american tax pay feel about this? I sort of felt the same way after profiler profiled?? They have serial criminals to catch?

Just not really a profile??? The good guy was really a bad guy...didn't mind the "story", but weird timing for this episode .......learned something about tats, but a little puzzled all the same.
And really Emily, I completely understand now why you are the way you are...it's ok...(insert here please) some "group counselling"

reid seemed completely reid to me

I love this show! - April 13, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
I liked the episode.....I thought it was interesting and fast-paced. I liked Morgan's "profiling" of the girl's home. My biggest complaint is the same old thing.....I just don't like them starting a storyline and then not finishing it.

Special Agent Jentzer - April 13, 2007 01:21 AM (GMT)
I thought the story was OK, russian mafia, tatoos and tales....and I really love borscht....but was not thrilled..... as has been season two....you never know what kind of episode you are going to get.

Reid just kind of "gave up", and why did prentiss feel she needed to suck up to her mom, and her mom....well that was just one big pitty party.

They didn't really "profile" or "solve" anything, they just figured out the good gal was a bad guy and the bad guy was a good guy and then they got feed to the fishes.....now will the FBI guy from the "Mafia and Bad Guys" Unit wonder were the girl went....if this sounds confusing, it is because I thought it was....

Huh?

I still don't understand one thing.....what was in the bags they were throwing over the bridge....that was too small for a body. Maybe one body in pieces in different bags but not a whole body per bag. Are we sure that wasn't the "boss" who was disposed of after it was discovered he had a family? Or was it his son's body after he had to have him killed to cover himself?

Special Agent Jentzer - April 13, 2007 01:43 AM (GMT)
'member when they cut off his finger, then his ear, then I'm sure since he clearly can use a knife...leg, head, foot, hand, shin, forearm...am I way off base here......three dead people make for a lot of garbage.

I love this show! - April 13, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
I don't have any real-life experience with dead bodies to go by so my knowledge is limited to Hitchcock movies and such but they always seem to need a trunk for a body, not a couple of Glad bags.

LOL!!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was thinking along those lines. I kept waiting for Farrah Fawcett to stroll in and flip her hair. ;)

I liked the episode, but I need to see it again to clear up some questions. I found certain aspects of it a bit confusing, and I'm having problems understanding character motivation for some reason. Since I was grading papers while trying to watch, maybe I missed something...or lots of somethings.

I can imagine a couple of possibilities:

A. Each body was dismembered and placed into several bags; the bags were then discarded at various locations, and we were shown just one of the drop sites.

B. The bodies were put through a chipper shredder (sorry for the gross-out factor) and reduced to smaller bits. These easy-to-transport remains were placed into bags and disposed of.

At least there are two of us. I didn't figure much out of this episode either, and I also got this concentration issue too. :P

Well... If this had been an episode of 'CSI: NY', I guess it would be the regular 'Tanglewood' gang - not the russian mob.
